Motorola Droid X :: Silence Everything But Phone
Sep 24, 2010Is there a setting on the Droid X to allow you to silence everything but the phone? I saw one app listed, Foxy Ring, but wondering if there is a way to do this on the phone without having to have an app running? I read some concerns over battery use with Foxy Ring. Any other apps for this.

I need to do this ONLY at night. Anyone know of a shortcut or app that will do this without me going into the settings every night and changing it.

Jun 9, 2010I'm a newish Droid user, came from Eris. While I love the power of the phone and the capabilities, the actual phone is not exciting at all and I miss the Eris if only for the actual phone. I am constantly told I am hard to hear; usually they say I am grainy, muffled, or tinny sounding. Are there any apps I can use to help make call quality better? I have purchased a very expensive blue tooth, call quality is still bad. Now, with a particular friend, they hear a very annoying beeping sound when talking to me. And only me. I don't hear it but the only time they hear this sound is when talking to me and it's been since I got the Droid (about 2 weeks ago). Any ideas of what this is and how to fix it?

But anyways, I've noticed that sometimes I'd get a phone call and almost immediately it would stop and show as a missed call. It could just be caused by the person calling but I figured I'd ask and see if anyone else had the issue. In running BB v.1 with the 1ghz kernel and the baseband update. Any thoughts?

Jul 25, 2010Of all of the power being used, it seems to me that the phone calls drain far more battery life than anything else.if I have a10 minute call it will drain about 10% of the battery.today I had a total of 53 minutes of calls and it used more than 50% of my battery.does that seem right? I thought that Motorola rated this phone at 8 hours of talk time.

Jan 23, 2010I use the unlock pattern security feature on my droid and yesterday I noticed that when I am using the phone and I take the droid away from my ear and try to put it on speakerphone or end the call, I have the put the unlock code in. This was never the case before yesterday. I reset the phone and it worked for the rest of the day (the screen would not lock during a call), but today it started happening again.

Dec 7, 2009My Droid never vibrates, ever. No matter if it is set to vibrate only, silent, or max sound. It doesn't vibrate for calls, texts or for anything. I set vibrate on for both, calls and texts - and it never vibrates. I temporarily installed other apps to see if the phone is physically able to vibrate, and it is. I am not sure if I am missing an option, or if there is a software malfunction.

Oct 10, 2010Recently I've noticed that I accidentally answer phone calls without realizing it while the phone is in my pocket.Callers then hear the rustling of my phone rubbing the inside of my pocket.I've read that when the Droid X's screen is off, I should have to slide to answer a phone call.However, even when my screen is off and the slide to unlock and pin number lock are active,I am still presented with two buttons when I get an incoming call.This happens regardless of whether people call my regular phone number or my Google Voice number.I have LauncherPro installed.Am I missing something?I'd like to have the slide to answer feature so I don't unknowingly answer phone calls.

Jul 26, 2010I have a Droid and it has worked perfect answering calls, until now. I just installed LauncherPro and now when I receive incoming calls I can no longer slide and answer calls. No matter what I do, the screen will do nothing other than show incoming calls and the slider, but the slider will not slide.

I finally have a solution Hurray.simple when call arrives hit the power button Once. the screen will go black and lock. and you can move all over the screen with touching etc and the call continues when you are ending the call just hit the power button again and everything goes live again on the screen to conclude the call. Jul 30, 2010My first question is about the car dock. I am in California and we have a hands free law. I cannot stand wearing the stupid little ear pieces. Right now, I am using my Garmin Zumo GPS as a hands free device. The Zumo syncs BT with my Blackberry and the Zumo cradle has a mic, so I don't need a ear piece. The output is sent through my truck speakers with a tape deck adapter. Works great. My question is this - If I have the phone in the car dock, can I use it is in the same fashion as the Garmin, minus the BT sync of course? Will I be able to make speakerphone calls while in the cradle and port the sound through the tape deck adapter?

When she is on the phone talking it is constantly, muting her voice or something cuz no1 can hear her. she just got the phone less than a week ago. I read online and found a bunch of stuff about the proximity sensor and the software issues, however those were all dated last year around winter time. So I am trying to see if there is a current fix for it. I see on the forums people have some problems with hardware on their incredibles but I didn't see a thread for the droid. Basically she can hear people talking but no1 can hear her and it happens like every other phone call.

Dec 26, 2009My Moto droid is unable to recieve or make calls. My mom called me like 25 times asking me to look up something, when I FINALLY got the call on the house phone I was able to look it up in maps but unable to call her back at all (was using wifi). My EVDO data services work fine but theres not voice AT ALL. I tried calling my number from like 5 phones nothing, I also reset it turned off the cellular radio and turned it back on nothing. Now for some reason the only time I can receive calls and make calls is when I have it set to 1xRTT only....Idk wtf going on but the one time I needed to use the PHONE on my handset it decided to not work....I had like 3 people try and call me and nothing not very convent.
