On my Motorola q emails just came n automatically. On the Droid I have to go to my email and hit refresh for them to come in. Same thing on my pop account. I do have notifications on and automatic push.

I wanted to see if anyone else was having this problem. I have my work e-mail setup to work as an exchange activesync. Everything was great up until about 3 days ago. I noticed that i was not receiving emails unless i manually updated the email. So i looked in settings/Send & Receive and under the Set download frequency it was set to "manual". I think to myself that weird since it was set up to "as items arrive" before. I then switch it back and after an hour still no emails but i am getting them on my computer. They use to actually get to my phone before my computer. Anyways i go back and try again but it seems it keeps defaulting back to "manual". I really want to avoid calling verizon since the last tech support called i made took 45mins to resolve the problem.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe droid as two email apps built in that I see. One is for gmail only and the other for any other email out there (excluding yahoo). The other one also one can be setup to use as a gmail account. What is the benefit to setting up the gmail app to only gmail and not just putting gmail on the other one so all you email accounts are displayed in one location? Do both of the settings push the gmail to your phone or does your phone have to fetch on one of the settings? Also, is there a way to set up your email to only fetch once every 12 or 24 hours? I think the only options I see is up to 1 hr or manually.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have had zero issues connecting my Droid with my corporate exchange client, which has been fantastic and refreshing, however, in the last week I have had email tell me it had to force close 3x.Each time it does, when I go to re-open everything is gone, it goes back to the sync an account/enter email address set up. Each time I do it on the far left the bars are a different color (what does this mean), right now they are the color of this smilie.Anything I can do to stop this from happening? Are there other email apps that might work better and have this not happening? I keep 2 weeks worth of emails on my phone so when something like this happens it is not a quick fix to get back where it was.

View 19 Replies View RelatedI have several email accounts that all funnel into GMail, and I have GMail set up so that I can send emails as if I were emailing from one of those various accounts (for example, I have an email account through my school. Emails received in that account go to GMail and I can send an email from GMail but put the "from" email address as my school email). I can't figure out how to do this on my Droid though.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been using the email app that came on the droid x for 2 weeks with no problem until now. i only have my yahoo email acct on it. this am, my inbox is empty. nothing has changed on my actual yahoo acct, so the emails have not been deleted. how can i get the inbox to repopulate/sync with the emails that are in my yahoo inbox? the other folders of my email are fine.

Everything is cool, except my work email which is an exchange account wants to give my email server a bunch of security permissions I am not comfortable with. I could not get Touchdown to work either until I discovered my Microsoft ISA server, in front of my Exchange 2003 server, was not setup right. Once I got that setup ISA Server 2004: Supporting Both Basic and Forms-based Authentication with a Single External IP Address and Web Listener (v1.1) the sync started working greatThe benefits of Touchdown are immense and I am no longer interested in Froyo handling of Exchange email. I am an IT guy and will recommend this program to all my android folks.

That doesn't make any sense to me and defeats the purpose of having corporate contacts. How do I make sure my exchange email account shows up as one of the options?

I do not see a way to sort my inbox by "From" to group those emails together. I got spoiled on my BB Storm being able to touch and hold the sender and it would sort all emails. Is there a way to do this on the Droid?
Also, when I go into my "Sent" folder, all emails are shown by the person that the emails are from, which is ME, impossible to see who I sent the email to and have to look at the subject and open the email to have any idea about the content. There's got to be a way to change this to view by who the email was sent to, which is usually what you're looking for anyway.
When i setup my email signature the address ends up being sent in the email as a hyperlink.But if the recipient clicks it it is an invalid link.Im on exchange 2007.Anyone else have this issue?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Droid X that is upgraded to 2.2 but I noticed this weekend that I didn't receive emails on Saturday until I pinged the server on Sunday night. When I was on 2.1 this wasn't an issue and I'm noticing now it is.
Settings right now are:
Data Delivery:
1. Background data is OFF
2. Email and Corp Sync: Data Push
Battery Manager:
1. Now in Performance mode, I turned off Custom this morning.
I might have solved my own problem by changing to "Performance Mode".
Haven't done the update yet. I'm not just talking about text sigs, but .jpg also. This has always been an irritation that I counldn't have my .jpg sig when sending from my phone.

My company requires PIN locking and remote wipe in order to sync, but it seems nearly impossible to find out of this is a supported feature within 2.0. Has anyone tried this with a similar set of Exchange policies that may have tested 2.0 or the Droid itself?

I can't turn this off and following the notification does nothing.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got my first Android phone, a Droid 2.I previously had the original BlackBerry Storm which when I first got it I loved but after a very short time I came to hate for it's crappy interfaces terrible performance and so on. But one thing that it did very well was work with my corporate exchange email.I use rules to move new email from the inbox to folders that really help me to keep my email organized, which is very important since I get 200-300 emails on a normal day and many more when there are emergencies at work. As each was moved to the appropriate folder I would get my notification on my BB and could go read the mail. However now that I am using Froyo, I find that it can see all of my emails and shows the correct folders and so forth but I only get notifications for email that is in the inbox. This does not work well especially when I have a customer emailing me with an emergency.
Is there a way to setup my rules so that they wait for 6 hours (or whatever time I select) before they are moved to one of the other folders so that I can still get my notifications on my Droid 2 but still keep the mailbox relatively organized?I hate the idea of running the rule manually because Outlook requires you to select each one individually and since I have about 50 rules this is a hassle, another option would be to make the rules Client Side only but I cannot seem to find a way to do this either so if anybody can give me instructions on this that would be great.Of course if you have a way that you use for this that works better please let me know as I am open to suggestions, these are just the options that I have come up on my own.
Since upgrading to 2.2, I had to remove and re-add my Exchange email account to get rid of the required security code input (as most users have). Since doing this, even with it set to Push, and to default to Fetch every 15 min if Push is not available, I have to manually hit Refresh to retrieve new email. This is also happening with a co-worker's DroidX, but not with another co-worker's phone, which is a different model.

I have downloaded 17 apps (or widgets, whichever you prefer). Now I don't get any email at all unless I refresh my inbox on my Eris. They have been up to a day old when I decide to try refreshing my inbox and, what do you know, they all pop up! My oh-so-famous "enable always-on mobile data" box is checked.
Is there any way to search for a program by typing in its name?
I have gmail and my exchange email from work set up on my phone and noticed that i do not get any email to my phone. The only time i know when mail arrives it when i open the email and it refreshes itself. I have the phone set up to check mail every 5 minutes with notification on. Anyone have any idea whats going on? I hate having to check for mail manually.

I really don't know why it deletes them when I press refresh, today I lost an important email from virgin media. It seems to do this a lot.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am currently using a x10i (x10?) on tmobile, i have the data plan ($10), and have my email connected via gmail. however, it seems like i have to do manual refresh in order to get email update. Is this normal or is there automatic feature that i must enable to have it alert me once an email is received?
Secondly, is it possible to set-up a third party email account, ex: Yahoo? I went through the notion of manually enter email account, but was unsucessful. It give me a msg that mailbox access is not supported for some tpes of yahoo mail accounts. Could this be an interference with gmail email, thus causing the problem? Even, using the manually setup option, it still fails to connect to my yahoo account.
I'm sure this may have been discussed or gone over but i seriously have no time right now to search for answers, I'm lucky i have time to post this thread but Ive been wanting to do it and get answers.
First off, i love the phone however there are some issues Ive come across.
(1) Deleting multiple messages/emails, can the emails/msgs just be selected (highlighted) all at once and deleted? its very very tedious to delete each and every one individually.
(2) While I'm talking about deleting emails, Ive come across an issue where some emails delete but then reappear, kept trying to delete them and they kept reappearing, whats going on here?
(3) My address book is a mess, it somehow has facebook people added into all my other numbers, anyway to undo all that somehow?
(4) Clock --- Is there a app to have the clock displayed sideways while i sleep? i have the verizon belt clip and turning it so the phone lays sideways on table works perfectly BUT the clock doesn't display sideways, isn't that horrible!?
(5) How do you refresh a browser page?
(6) Voice Dialing --- I use a Blue Parrot Bluetooth, the phone is not recognizing when i push the button on the parrot to voice dial someone, or isn't this phone capable of voice dialing? The blue parrot worked great on my blackberry.
Thats all i can think of right now, I'm sure most of them can be answered.
the email app being the the white envelope, yellow insert icon app. so for example, when i hit one specific inbox, i can either hit "refresh", or pull down for it to retrieve emails. But when i go into "all accounts" I don't see an option.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Motorola Milestone (aka Droid). I've managed to set up my Milestone to sync my work contacts and calandar via exchange. However, I cannot get my email for some reason - and there's no error message to point me in the right direction. I've tried sending emails too, and that doesn't work. They just sit in my outbox, no matter how many times I refresh. Obviously, I've tried all the obvious things - double checked my settings (which must be ok, given my Calander and Contacts synced, plus I can get to the global address book). I've tried to refresh the mailbox, but nothing happens. When I go to 'Accounts' there is an orange line next to my work account, which perhaps means something is wrong. I wondered if it's perhaps my work's firewall blocking me but again, if I can get into my calander and contacts.
