I just updated to 2.2 (Sapphire1.0.0) from the Sapphire 0.8.4. Everything is cool, except my work email which is an exchange account wants to give my email server a bunch of security permissions I am not comfortable with. Has anyone else had this issue, and is there a "work around" for it?

I tried Froyo to setup Exchange email and could not get it working. I could not get Touchdown to work either until I discovered my Microsoft ISA server, in front of my Exchange 2003 server, was not setup right. Once I got that setup ISA Server 2004: Supporting Both Basic and Forms-based Authentication with a Single External IP Address and Web Listener (v1.1) the sync started working greatThe benefits of Touchdown are immense and I am no longer interested in Froyo handling of Exchange email. I am an IT guy and will recommend this program to all my android folks.

That doesn't make any sense to me and defeats the purpose of having corporate contacts. How do I make sure my exchange email account shows up as one of the options?
View 6 Replies View RelatedGradually getting used to using my Droid for Corporate Email & Calendar purposes no way I would ever take this thing back, but looking for solutions to the following:
I do not see a way to sort my inbox by "From" to group those emails together. I got spoiled on my BB Storm being able to touch and hold the sender and it would sort all emails. Is there a way to do this on the Droid?
Also, when I go into my "Sent" folder, all emails are shown by the person that the emails are from, which is ME, impossible to see who I sent the email to and have to look at the subject and open the email to have any idea about the content. There's got to be a way to change this to view by who the email was sent to, which is usually what you're looking for anyway.
When i setup my email signature the address ends up being sent in the email as a hyperlink.But if the recipient clicks it it is an invalid link.Im on exchange 2007.Anyone else have this issue?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Droid X that is upgraded to 2.2 but I noticed this weekend that I didn't receive emails on Saturday until I pinged the server on Sunday night. When I was on 2.1 this wasn't an issue and I'm noticing now it is.
Settings right now are:
Data Delivery:
1. Background data is OFF
2. Email and Corp Sync: Data Push
Battery Manager:
1. Now in Performance mode, I turned off Custom this morning.
I might have solved my own problem by changing to "Performance Mode".
Haven't done the update yet. I'm not just talking about text sigs, but .jpg also. This has always been an irritation that I counldn't have my .jpg sig when sending from my phone.

My company requires PIN locking and remote wipe in order to sync, but it seems nearly impossible to find out of this is a supported feature within 2.0. Has anyone tried this with a similar set of Exchange policies that may have tested 2.0 or the Droid itself?

I can't turn this off and following the notification does nothing.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got my first Android phone, a Droid 2.I previously had the original BlackBerry Storm which when I first got it I loved but after a very short time I came to hate for it's crappy interfaces terrible performance and so on. But one thing that it did very well was work with my corporate exchange email.I use rules to move new email from the inbox to folders that really help me to keep my email organized, which is very important since I get 200-300 emails on a normal day and many more when there are emergencies at work. As each was moved to the appropriate folder I would get my notification on my BB and could go read the mail. However now that I am using Froyo, I find that it can see all of my emails and shows the correct folders and so forth but I only get notifications for email that is in the inbox. This does not work well especially when I have a customer emailing me with an emergency.
Is there a way to setup my rules so that they wait for 6 hours (or whatever time I select) before they are moved to one of the other folders so that I can still get my notifications on my Droid 2 but still keep the mailbox relatively organized?I hate the idea of running the rule manually because Outlook requires you to select each one individually and since I have about 50 rules this is a hassle, another option would be to make the rules Client Side only but I cannot seem to find a way to do this either so if anybody can give me instructions on this that would be great.Of course if you have a way that you use for this that works better please let me know as I am open to suggestions, these are just the options that I have come up on my own.
Since upgrading to 2.2, I had to remove and re-add my Exchange email account to get rid of the required security code input (as most users have). Since doing this, even with it set to Push, and to default to Fetch every 15 min if Push is not available, I have to manually hit Refresh to retrieve new email. This is also happening with a co-worker's DroidX, but not with another co-worker's phone, which is a different model.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Motorola Milestone (aka Droid). I've managed to set up my Milestone to sync my work contacts and calandar via exchange. However, I cannot get my email for some reason - and there's no error message to point me in the right direction. I've tried sending emails too, and that doesn't work. They just sit in my outbox, no matter how many times I refresh. Obviously, I've tried all the obvious things - double checked my settings (which must be ok, given my Calander and Contacts synced, plus I can get to the global address book). I've tried to refresh the mailbox, but nothing happens. When I go to 'Accounts' there is an orange line next to my work account, which perhaps means something is wrong. I wondered if it's perhaps my work's firewall blocking me but again, if I can get into my calander and contacts.

Which tells me this is all based on my email file. I sync'd up both the Sent Items and the Deleted Items about a week ago and I'm betting that stuff has filled up my card. If there a way to clear those two buckets? I really don't need Deleted and Sent on my phone. Didn't realize it would take so much room on the card. Anybody have any ideas?

Is this something I have to deal with or is there a setting I'm missing somewhere? Same thing w/ the calendar reminders. I have dismissed them on my phone but they still come up in outlook when I get home.

I have 3 seperate email accounts but am having a problem when forwarding emails from my Corporate Exchange Server account. When forwarding an email the recepient receives the forwarded email as a .eml attachment. My other accounts forward the actual email and all settings are the same.Is there something else I need to set different on this email account?
Second time this has happened since I installed Froyo. For no apparent reaason, the Evo will just stop getting email from my Exchange account. No settings were changed or anything. The only way to get it back is to reset the phone to factory settings.

When setting up the second phone for my spouse (employer uses Server 2007), the username/password cannot be authenticated. Went into manual setup and had same issue. Bottom line, cannot set this up. Any ideas for troubleshooting?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI succeeded in setting up exchange email on my nexus one.The things that bothers me a bit is that I can only select to sync emails from the last week/month/etc.In some cases I want to look at an old email to perform my work.It's great how with IMAP email you can scroll down and just press a button to read more emails. Is there anything similar for exchange? Or at least some workaround?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I first got my Evo, I had no problems setting up the HTC mail client with my work email, using Exchange. Due to random restarts, I had to do a hard reset, and now I keep getting "Failed to create the account. Please try again later." This has been happening for the past few days since I did the hard reset.
When I initially set it up, I just put in my work email and password and had no problems. Now, I've tried every configuration possible in both normal and manual setup. Anyone got any other ideas?

Anyways, my DX has been working flawlessly since I got it back on 10/6. Sunday, 10/31, my DX quit syncing just my corporate Exchange 2003 emails, then yesterday it started not sending emails as well and now, this morning, it quit syncing my personal email. Corporate email will sync manually, just not push. I have rebooted several times, pulled the battery several times, and also deleted both my Exchange account and my personal account and re-added both and the problem still persists. I don't have any task killer apps installed and haven't recently added any apps since the issues started. Anyone have an idea what may be causing the lack of push (in and out) on both of my accounts?
