Android :: Apps Downloading But Not Installing
Aug 20, 2010not sure if this is the right forum for this but i just switched from droid incredible to droid x. it is rooted running 2.2. i downloaded some apps from the market no problem, but now whenever i try it downloads to 100% and then that's it, it doesn't bother trying to install. installing an application through astro works though. i ahve no clue what's going on, rebooted a couple times already.

Oct 22, 2010I turned on my phone this morning and it said 5 updates were available, where 1 had to be installed manually. So I select to update the other 4 apps... one of the apps downloaded ok, two are reporting that the download was unsuccessful, and the 4th one (Fruit Ninja) hung on 'Installing...'. So I put the phone down, picked it up an hour later, and it still says 'Installing...'. Thing is, this is not the first time this has happened, as I routinely have apps hang while updating, either while downloading or installing since upgrading to Froyo. Anyone else have this issue? I am running a custom ROM (Virtuous), but dunno if that has anything to do with it or not.

Jun 3, 2010i just downloaded the speedtest app and i am curious if my speeds are average or sub par. my results are as follows:
down: .21mbps
up: .49mbps
ping: 189ms
i ran my taskiller to kill other apps thinking it would speed my rates up but no real improvements. the funny thing is if i tether my phone via easytether and run the speedtest on my laptop my rates jump to over 1 full mbps. not sure why though
Motorola Droid X :: Not Downloading Apps?
Oct 28, 2010For some reason earlier today I was able to update an app then somone made a suggestion to try a keyboard app when I went to download it, it would just keep cycling I tried downloading something completely different and update another app and it's doing the something. I have done a couple of battery pulls, resets, and cleared the data from the app market by going thru setting(googled that one). Does anyone have any suggestions what to do next or what maybe causing it?

Feb 2, 2010I was having problems viewing attachments on my exchange email, for about 2 weeks contacted IT department they have no clue. last night and all day today i was able to view them using the stock quick office. just received a couple emails with attachments and guess what i can no longer view them. tried with and with out wifi turned on and off, no dice. the server is running exchange 2003 i receive and send emails fine. just can't view attachments.also calendar syncs. could it be a bad app? all though i have not downloaded any for weeks now.

Im trying to do my first theme, and know i wanna deo' as well. when i goto the blackglass website, none of the links/icons transfer or download.
I thought it was the easiest way to deodex, too, so im kinda stuck. I have the bootstrap ready to go (havent given superuser yet, because i dont know what to do here).
Motorola Droid :: Downloading Zip Files
Jan 27, 2010Just have a quick question: whenever I download zip files from all....droid(specially the theme files etc) using dolphin browser it asks me to save as "file.php". I usually download it on to my computer and unzip it prior to moving it to my sd card.Tried renaming the .php file to .zip once its downloaded onto the sd card. Problem is that trying to access it gives me an error message. When I do it from a PC it works fine though.

Sep 9, 2010Can't download any CyanogenMod ROMs from ROMManager. I have the paid version and I keep getting download errors because it can't find the host. I verified by grabbing the host off the manifest in ROMManager and pasting that into the browser. No go. It looks like either a domain is moving or got knocked off line.

Nov 24, 2009Downloading email from my comcast.net account was working fine - then for some unknown reason it no longer does. If I tap on the folders, the inbox shows that there are the correct number of emails sitting in my inbox on the comcast server, but they never download to the droid.I've tried removing the account and adding it back, same issue. Also, Beautiful Widgets and the southpark photohunter (something a friend tried to download for a reason unknown) are in a constant state of downloading. When I try to cancel the downloads, market simply offers the "Sorry! the application market (process com.android.vending) has stopped unexpectedly. please try again." pop up.Along with those problems, I tend to get a security update change notification at least 2 or 3 times for the email application (not the google one) every time I restart my phone.After searching forums the first day I encountered these problems (when I got the bb update) I decided to just ignore the problems until people had time on their own with their new setup.

Aug 23, 2010After receiving the Froyo OTA update and realizing that it totally broke all of the features I use on my Droid (streaming audio, silent mode, etc.), I have downgraded to Bugless Beast v1.1.
I am finding that BBv1.1 is continuously downloading the OTA update from Verizon over and over in the background. If I go to Settings | About Phone | System Updates, I see a status bar indicating the download progress for the OTA update. The OS never requests to install the update, but it keeps downloading repeatedly. This is absolutely killing my 3G bandwidth, making web browsing nearly impossible. It is also killing my battery life (about 10 hours on idle).
How the hell do I stop BB v1.1 from downloading this OTA update that I do not want?

Nov 9, 2010Anyone ever had this happen? Downloaded an update after the 2.1 upgrade and I sync'd my contacts with FB. It then deleted all of my contacts.So I deleted Facebook, re-stored all my contacts and reloaded Facebook. However, now it gets as far as installing and it never stops. It just stays on Installing.However, the FB app works fine on the phone itself.Is this a Market glitch? Is there anyway I can purge it from out of my downloads section?

So I go to a well known rom site that advertises itself as "free" with their "roms". And I have no problem downloading the genesis games and getting them to play. But whenever I go to legally back up an snes game and click download it directs to a page with a bunch of symbols and numbers as if dolphin is trying to open it through the browser. Keep in mind, this only happens with the snes roms.

After hearing about the crap Motorola pulled with the bootloader, I decided to wait on the ota update to Froyo until someone either figures a workaround, or they don't...to which I will update via the latest leak.
PROBLEM: After twice saying NOT to download this ota, I look down at my status bar and it shows something downloading at 10%...It's the syatem update!!!! I immediately pulled the battery, only to have the download continue upon restarting the phone. I am currently in Airplane mode waiting to hear if there is a way to KILL, CANCEL or STOP this download from installing!
