Can someone email me where to download movies I don't have a CPU will that be a problem and I was told to use lukluk player. Any opinions I'm not much of a tech geek either.

I am wanting to take a movie I have on DVD and put it on my droid to make the morning train commute a little nice. I found a product called Clone DVD mobile which I think will do this but do I need to download a program on the droid to view it? Are there any steps available for downloading files to the droid and how to view them?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI regularly download Podcasts which I then play as MP3's on my current HTC TYTN2. Rather than download to the laptop then transfer to the new Desire I would rather download directly to the Desire but when I go to the Podcast I want - on the BBC site, the instructions of 'Right Click and Save as Target' don't apply.
If I click that instead it simply plays the Podcast - which I don't want. What I really want is to be able to download the Podcast/MP3 directly to my phone SD card - is there an app which would help or am I forced to download via the laptop?
I've recently been getting into more security cautious habits with encryption and what not, due to this whole NSA/Big-brother is watching business... But I have a question (more may pop up as this discussion goes on).I am still getting a hang of all this encryption business. If I go ahead and do a full phone encryption with my GN2 where will I stand as far as backups to Dropbox/Copy/Google Drive/etc.?
I currently have photos and such backing up to copy, and I often move backups made through recovery to Dropbox and such. If I were to have photos automatically sync to copy or move system backups to dropbox wouldn't that render them basically useless as I am assuming they move out of the phone encrypted (not being decrypted as they exit).
The photos would be unusable anywhere besides my phone right? So moving them off my phone to share vacation photos for instance would be impossible, and if my phone were to crash they'd be irretrievable? Making the backup process pointless.
Wouldn't the back up be rendered useless as well, exactly when I might need said backup? If my phone were to ever crash or die for some reason, I would lose the encryption key, would even be able to do a full system restore through the recovery? It would seem that the encryption key wouldn't be kept with those back up files, so while it might place everything back in its correct place, it would still be unreadable. Or does it maybe keep the key in system files somewhere so that a full backup would restore the key as well?
I am also under the impression that I would not be able to flash through custom recovery either as the internal SD would be inaccessible from the recovery being it doesn't have the encryption key. I am currently running OmniROM and it is in a nightly stage still for my phone. I wouldn't be able to update nightly would I? I am assuming since it basically flashes/overwrites system each time, that I would be losing my encryption key and making everything besides system unusable then right?
And what about downloading ROMs to flash/update directly to my phone? As I download them from in browser or another app and they go to the default /downloads folder they would be encrypted. They wouldn't be accessible from there in recovery, but if I were to try and move them out of internal SD to the external SD they would retain encryption and still be inaccessible? So the only way to download ROMs and updates would be from PC and only move them to the external SD?
I'm wondering how I am suppose to download music and music on my new phone. I am not very computer savvy and keep getting different info from people. I also need to know how I can get either java or mic on my phone to enable me to chat.These are the two reasons I bought the phone and I cannot do either.Any other info you can provide would be great!

While the hardware is ok, the software for critical functions (Calendar, Contacts, Notepad, and Music) absolutely sucks!
1. I do not want to use Google/Gmail for my calendar and contacts. I don't know about any of you, but I do not feel comfortable having my confidential contact and calendar information sitting on the internet in Google. The company I work for even has a block on Google contacts & Gmail because it is not secure and fraught with potential for virus. I want a way to sync calander, contacts and notepad directly from my PC to my phone. Unfortunately, this can't be done. I've tried Companion Link. Besides the fact that it cost $39, I can't even get it to work. This type of functionality should be a basic part of a smartphone. Iphones do it. Blackberry's do it. Palm Pre does it. Why not the Droid?
2. Music - I have been trying to figure out a way that music synced to the Droid will play in the proper order. The Droid will only play music in Alphabetical order. I can't find a way to play music in Track # order. I have been on the phone with Motorola for hours. Finally got to Level 2 tech support. They told me that it cannot be done. How stupid is this? Try listening to a Broadway Show album in alphabetical order! Right now I feel if you just want a fancy toy, buy a Droid. If you want a real "smartphone" look somewhere else.

This is the ONLY think i miss from the iTouch. i was able to download torrents directly to my iTouch. so far i have only been able to find a remote client that controls the torrents on your computer.
anyone know of a way to torrent directly to your phone?

This morning i snapped an image of 42nd St-Time Square and I tried to upload to facebook. To my surprise, the option to unload directly to fb is NOT there...WTH? I did notice that the fb app for android has a little camera icon to take a picture.

What i'm wondering is if that's the best way to move movies over? It looks great but the sound seems to be a second behind the video which I wasn't sure is because of the way I transferred it.
I saw people recommend dvdfab, which i've heard of. Does Vcast media manager work as well or does it not matter as long as you use a good converting program?
Also, just bought Blue Ray versions of SWAT, Death Race, Shooter which were newer so there is no digital version. Is there a legal program to copy them to my pc so I can put them on my phone?

When i connect the phone to my pc and open up the SD card folder i can't find the videos anywhere. I would like to download some movies for my phone, but want to make sure that I am downloading from a reputable site. Can anyone recommend a good site for this? Also, I see some of them offer to download in ipod or DivX (not sure what DivX even is) formats. Should I choose one of these formats or just choose DVD format and convert it?
