Downloading email from my comcast.net account was working fine - then for some unknown reason it no longer does. If I tap on the folders, the inbox shows that there are the correct number of emails sitting in my inbox on the comcast server, but they never download to the droid.I've tried removing the account and adding it back, same issue. It never gets past loading messages.

I just received a new Nexus 7 32GB and am having some issues. I'm trying to setup my email using my base email address thru Comcast. I have no trouble revieving email through the email setup not Gmail but there is no provision for an address book or contacts list for sending emails. I Googled around and found K-9 Email and went to Google Apps to download it and upon tapping the download button a message came up stating "no devices found". The Nexus7 is running Jellybeen 4.2.1.

I have been lurking here for about a month before I bought it, so I am in fairly good shape with it other than one iritiation.I am coming from three years of Blackberry (8800, 9000) use. My iritation is with my POP/Comcast email. On my BB I could delete a message and it would delete it from the server without any issue. It also would stay on my BB after I downloaded the email from the server to my PC. With my droid I lose the message once I download it to my PC. Is there a way to do this? I have tried the stock email program, K-9 also.I have even tried using forwarded email through G-Mail, but that does not delete the message on the Comcast server when I delete it in G-Mail. Is there a trick to this I am missing?Look forward to some great info on this one if there is a solution.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a customer that needs to get their comcast email setup on Motorola Droid. This seems to be an issue. First off let me give you the settings I am using.
Incoming:
1.Customer username - does not have @comcast behind it
2.their password
3. port 110
4. mail.comcast.net
5. Security type None
Outgoing
1.smtp.comcast.net
2.587 port
3.security None
I have also tried other random settings.The best I have gotten this to work is that it receives one email at a time. A couple of minutes later you click refrest and even that message is gone.I have even tried m.comcast.net for the customer and that website shows you have 2 new mail. But after you click on it once and back out there is no way to see the messages again.
I am having problem (same as original post at link below) with 3 comcast email addresses on android phone. Estimate started 9/25/13. Can send email, but do not receive when polling at 30 minute interval; also does not delete emails on server when deleted on phone to keep emails synced. I am using K9 email app. When checking incoming server settings, I get the following error message: "Setup could not finish finish. Username or password incorrect ()." I have not changed usernames or passwords.

Also tried deleting and re-adding account, and increased setting for folder size. (Was also having problem with deleted email addresses showing up in auto-fill lists -- only on web, not on android. I might be leaving my incredible to come to the Droid X bc I'm having a lot of problems. I don't want to switch to another phone and have a lot of problems. I'm having random restarts, mms messages not downloading, blown speakers, email not working with aol. Yeah so what problems are happining with the Droid X?

View 15 Replies View RelatedI set my gmail account with the email icon/app on my home screen.I did it with the POP/IMPAP option because the other one wouldn't work (don't know what either of those mean).My problem is I can't get it to download my emails by itself. I have to go in and refresh. I have set it to check every 5mins and to alert me but it just wont unless I refresh. I'm assuming there's somthing I'm missing.Also, I just discovered there's a gmail app in that list that gets the emails instantly. It will make a sound with a new email, but I have to go to that list then to the gmail app to check.What I want is to be notified of my emails and have some icon be it the email one or the gmail one on my home page that lets me know I have an email.The other thing is the youtube app, but its seems lots of people are having that trouble.Also, how do I sync access my gmail contacts on my phone on either the gmail app or the email app. I can't see contacts on either right now.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy partner has her Desire set to download/sync emails once a day but, it's downloading them more than that once a day. Is there perhaps another setting we're missing, or another setting which tells it how often to sync?It's set to once a day but, went off twice while we were at her mums yesterday within, id say an hour but, I think it was more like half an hour. It also notified her of more emails later on....I heard it go off about 5am this morning, to be told it was the fifth time it'd done it and so now it was on airplane mode which wasnt convenient. I managed to turn off syncing altogether (facebook gave me an option to change frequency, email didnt so i had to turn it all off in the menu i was in), which isnt convenient as she wants the weather to be updated regularly - Also an option on the list (cant remember what the third one was but, four options in total). So I'm thinking there must be somewhere else which says how frequently to update.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm absolutely loving this thing so far. So easy to use, type etc, and the screen is gorgeous. Having a tough time deciding on screen proecto or not. I have my personal email setup on IMAP. When I tell the mail program to download anything more that 3 days worth of email, it skips the most recent week of new mail. So email I get today doesn't show up. If I use today or 3 days, it seems to work. I would like to have 14 days worth of email but can't figure why it won't work.

Anyways, my DX has been working flawlessly since I got it back on 10/6. Sunday, 10/31, my DX quit syncing just my corporate Exchange 2003 emails, then yesterday it started not sending emails as well and now, this morning, it quit syncing my personal email. Corporate email will sync manually, just not push. I have rebooted several times, pulled the battery several times, and also deleted both my Exchange account and my personal account and re-added both and the problem still persists. I don't have any task killer apps installed and haven't recently added any apps since the issues started. Anyone have an idea what may be causing the lack of push (in and out) on both of my accounts?

Well, i have putted to be notified in 1 hour if i have new emails the problem is the phone didn't check the emails and didn't have the notifications. only if i enter on the "Mail" application i have the new emails.. if i didn't enter, this didn't check the emails. What is the problem?. I have APN droid installed and i have deactivated the 3g 2g gaps. But i have configuration the WIFI to stay connected always.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just pulled the battery to do a reset last night after a lockup and today I'm getting notifications everytime I get a new email. it never used to do this and i figured it was just cause I didn't use the gmail. now I'm thinking that it just might be one of the background tasks that I was always killing. I recently switched to home++ and I didn't use the built in task killer all day. so I guess my question is, does anyone know which background task would control this so I don't kill it? also, is there a place to go in the settings to change the led color for email alerts?

I have added both the sender and the senders domain to the list using Windows Live Mail Beta. These emails are still getting through to my Droid X. First, there are no option on the phone to block emails is there? And secondly, there is not an option to add emails to any junk folder on the phone either that I have found. Anyone else having this problem? I've tried both adding my email accounts through Corporate (for hotmail/msn) and the email option on the phone.

down: .21mbps
up: .49mbps
ping: 189ms
i ran my taskiller to kill other apps thinking it would speed my rates up but no real improvements. the funny thing is if i tether my phone via easytether and run the speedtest on my laptop my rates jump to over 1 full mbps. not sure why though
For some reason earlier today I was able to update an app then somone made a suggestion to try a keyboard app when I went to download it, it would just keep cycling I tried downloading something completely different and update another app and it's doing the something. I have done a couple of battery pulls, resets, and cleared the data from the app market by going thru setting(googled that one). Does anyone have any suggestions what to do next or what maybe causing it?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI was having problems viewing attachments on my exchange email, for about 2 weeks contacted IT department they have no clue. last night and all day today i was able to view them using the stock quick office. just received a couple emails with attachments and guess what i can no longer view them. tried with and with out wifi turned on and off, no dice. the server is running exchange 2003 i receive and send emails fine. just can't view attachments.also calendar syncs. could it be a bad app? all though i have not downloaded any for weeks now.

View 2 Replies View RelatedJust have a quick question: whenever I download zip files from all....droid(specially the theme files etc) using dolphin browser it asks me to save as "file.php". I usually download it on to my computer and unzip it prior to moving it to my sd card.Tried renaming the .php file to .zip once its downloaded onto the sd card. Problem is that trying to access it gives me an error message. When I do it from a PC it works fine though.

I verified by grabbing the host off the manifest in ROMManager and pasting that into the browser. No go. It looks like either a domain is moving or got knocked off line.
