Motorola Droid X :: Applications Still Downloading After Factory Reset

Oct 25, 2010

Did a factory reset about 2 hours ago. I have about 200 apps that I had downloaded before and they are all still saying "downloading" in the market. Not a single one has downloaded. I restarted the phone twice since, but they are all still downloading.

Motorola Droid :: Purchased Applications And Factory Reset

Nov 24, 2009

Does anyone know if there's anyway to backup purchased apps before doing a factory reset. I've gone a bit crazy with apps on my Droid and its slowed down quite a bit. I'd like to do a reset and restore some of my purchased apps that I still want around...

Motorola Droid X :: Factory Reset Without Losing Applications / Settings?

Oct 9, 2010

Since updating to Froyo on my Droid X, I've noticed my camera's autofocus won't work at all. I first noticed this because the barcode scanner can't read bar codes anymore because they are too blurry. I want to try a factory wipe to see if that fixes it. I just did a factory wipe 2 weeks ago and it erased all of my applications and settings and was a huge pain to reinstall everything. Is there a way to backup these apps, so I can just automatically re-download them after I do the wipe?

Motorola Droid :: Factory Reset And Updates / Applications / Root

Jan 25, 2010

There's a lot of instructions floating around for unrooting the droid and what makes the most sense to me is to let the phone handle factory reset thereby bringing the phone back to its original out of the box configuration. By reset I'm referring to booting with power+x vol up+camerra and choosing factory reset from the list. Can someone who's done the reset on a rooted phone confirm that SU permissions are gone after? Also, does the reset delete all apps, system settings and user data and bring the phone back to a true factory state (including going back to OS 2.0)?

General :: Stop Google Play From Re-downloading Apps After Factory Reset

May 9, 2014

I factory reset my old unused S3 and I'm now trying to re-purpose it (as a wifi only device). The problem is when I re-add my Google account to it, Google Play automatically starts re-downloading ALL my apps to it and I don't want that (probably over 100) - I just need 4 to 5 apps from that account re-downloaded (I don't mind doing it manually). How do I get Google Play to NOT automatically re-download all those apps?

Android :: Market Loses Track Of Purchased Applications After Factory Reset

Nov 17, 2009

I've had several of my users email me to tell me they had to do a factory reset on their phone for some reason or other. The problem is, they had purchased apps installed and the Android market app loses track of this information when the phone is reset. My only solution to their problem is to go into my checkout account, refund their money and ask them to repurchase my app.

Am I correct in assuming that Google decided to only check the PackageManager on the device to determine if an app was purchased or not? Is there really no other means of determining that an app was purchased? Surely this information about the purchase is kept on a server somewhere (which is why I can see the purchase information with Google Checkout) Also, since the user of a phone must login with a Google account in order to use the market, can't you just correlate the user's purchased apps with their login account and bypass the phone altogether? I'm probably missing something, but I wanted to let you know its a source of frustration to have to deal with this when I consider this issue the responsibility of the market infrastructure.

I rooted my phone to uninstall some bloatware system apps several months ago. Now, I need to perform a factory data reset just to remove the Google account associated with it. Is it safe to do so or will I lose any further system apps or worse, brick my phone? I have the apk's of the system apps that I removed, but for some reason I am not able to restore/install all of them. I used ES File Explorer back then to remove those apps. Motorola Droid :: No 3G After Factory Reset

Aug 8, 2010

I know there was a bulletin on not to do it if you had 2.1, but I was rooted using SS4.6. I had switched ROMs, between about three of them the past week, and didn't do a full wipe, just to be safe. But the phone was starting to get real slow, regardless of the ROM, so I just did a factory reset using Clockwork Recovery and now I don't seem to be getting 3G anymore. I can still get data, just at 1X. It'll say "3G" when idle, but once I'm browsing, it bumps down to 1X again. This couldn't possibly be what was suggested not to do for 2.1 owners, was it? Despite being on 2.2?

Motorola Droid :: Way To Reset OS To Factory Default?

Nov 19, 2009

So I installed PandaBeta for the Droid, and although it was cool, I uninstalled it because it was lacking the features I really wanted (it is in beta after all). After I uninstalled it, my phone has been acting semi goofy, and I noticed there are some new things that show up in Taskiller that weren't there before:
1.) Google Partner Setup (I don't even know what this is)
2.) com.google.android.apps.maps:FriendService
3.) Bluetooth Share (I never use bluetooth)
4.) com.weather.Weather:gadgetPrivateProcess
5.) Voice Dialer
6.) com.Twidroid:remote
Now I don't know if those are supposed to be there, but if they are supposed to be there, they were never there UNTIL I installed PandaBeta. My big issue though is I have noticed my phone acting semi weird (could have just been a fluke). I just made a 1 hour phone call and when I went to hangup, the screen never woke up. So I hit the unlock button, nothing happened. I open the keyboard, nothing happened. The phone was on because when I opened the keyboard, the keyboard was backlit. This never happened before the uninstall. Anyway, is there anyway to restore the Droid to the initial state? In other words a factory reset of the OS? I don't care if I loose all data, since everything I have is on the Google Cloud anyway.

Motorola Droid :: Factory Reset Not Working?

I just bought a Motorola Droid from some1 today off of craigslist and I took it to verizon to have it activated which was fine. But when verizon tried doing a reset it didn't work. All the previous guys stuff is still on it. And because of that I can't get rid of his email address so I can't access the market to get apps because I don't know his password. It seems he put a Launcher2 Mod on it and I can't get it off.

Motorola Droid :: Factory Reset With Data Wipe

Apr 8, 2010

After I received the OTA to 2.1 I have noticed more lag when scrolling between home screens, using 2D games is painful with the framerate reduction, and many items that are running in the background without me ever starting them. I also cannot seem to keep them closed either. I can also say that I am getting worse battery life now than I was with 2.0.1. I was wondering what would actually happen if I rebooted into Recovery Mode and did a Factory Reset with Data Wipe. Would this possibly help with the update causing these problems that were not there before?

There was a thread here that told you certain applications that will make sure your data was backed up so you can restore it all after the reset.I remember seeing on on this forum a while ago, but after searching a few times, I cant find it.I'm hoping a factory reset will help with my icon lag issue and the general sluggishness of my phone.
