Motorola Droid :: Downloading CyanogenMod From ROM Manager
Sep 9, 2010
Can't download any CyanogenMod ROMs from ROMManager. I have the paid version and I keep getting download errors because it can't find the host. I verified by grabbing the host off the manifest in ROMManager and pasting that into the browser. No go. It looks like either a domain is moving or got knocked off line.

I looked at every guide there is and im pretty sure I have a good grasp on the rooting concept. Anyway, I did the update.zip from the recovery menu. Then I went into Rom Manager and installed CyanogenMod. Unfortunately it got rid of all my default apps. market, etc. Also, does anyone else recommend a different rom? Whats the most commonly used one?

I downloaded ROM MANAGER (Free version) and everytime I download one of the roms, and I go through the process of clicking wipe cache + backup rom, it just restarts my phone.

I rooted my phone (droid x), and then installed bootstrap + Rom Manager. I downloaded REVOlution, and then I got to recovery, I clicked reboot, and it always FREEZES at the M sign. Then I looked up other forum posts on this site, and so I ended up deleting cache, going to factory reset etc... and I still can't get back to my screen.

I have successfully downloaded 296/298 projects of CyanogenMOD's gingerbread source but the last 2 files 297 and 298 (prebuilt.git) I can't download that in every attempt the download freeze at near 500mb or above 1GB. I was trying to download that over a weeks. So need prebuilt.git file from CyanogenMOD's CM7 source .repo folder?

After having some development skills in Java, I thought I'd try to make my own apps for the Android Platform. But I haven't even installed the whole SDK yet and I've got already my first Problems. I downloaded the SDK r05 Starterpack and tried to install it, no Problems with the eclipse-Activation. But when I tried to download the platforms with the Android SDK and AVD Manager, I just failed.
After replacing the https:// with an http://(cause the safe way didn't work) I saw 6 things at the "Avilable Packages" Screen, but I only could install 2 of them. The Android SDK Tool r5 and the USB Driver Package r3. I saw the APIs too, but I wasn't able to install one of them, my problem is that it shows me; "This Package depends on 'missing SDK Plattform Android API X". X = The Number of the API(3;4;6;7). So, here's the big question, what did I do wrong? Or where can I download the Platforms?

* Built in USB tether
* ARM NEON optimizations from 0xdroid and Qualcomm
* Includes BusyBox, htop, nano, powertop, openvpn, bash, and all engineering commandline utilities
* FLAC audio support from Kenny Root

I am new to rooting, but not new to overclocking... except for when it comes to phones.
I made this thread to find out exactly what I need because I have no idea what is up to date and what isnt, there are so many threads eveywhere with different information. I only rooted last night so I am still quite noobish here.
Question: Does the installation of Cyanogen include everything I need to OC? I have downloaded setCPU 1.5a but that is all. Havent installed it or anything. I'm pretty confused on the whole kernel topic and what needs to be done for me to get my droid up to 800mhz.

It's running smoothly for me. App pop-in on te home screen seems to be fixed finally. But that might be the difference between Launcher Pro and ADWLauncher, since ADW comes stock now. Honestly not seeing much different. Although ADW seems to be snappier than Launcher Pro was. Probably because it's native now?
Anybody else running this? I feel like it's all Pete's BB talk around her lately.

Ive been looking around and trying to figure this out but i cant. theres instructions for if youre running droidmod but im on cyanogenmod. since the 2.1 ota came out ive had horrible battery life. my battery would be down to 80% after an hour and a half with me only texting in that time... ive found otacerts.zip in ASTRO but cyanogenmod doesnt have the Check for Updates tab so i cant download it and run it to disable. its just sitting on my phone, i think thats whats draining my battery. i dont know that for sure but thats what ive gathered from reading. can i just delete the file? i just want to get rid of it and hopefully get my better battery life back...

I'm running the latest Cyanogenmod froyo and I need to format my SD card. I have about 2 GB worth of unaccounted for space I need. When I go into SD card in settings the Format SD Card option is greyed out. I checked the apps installed on my SD card and there are none.

i just downloaded the speedtest app and i am curious if my speeds are average or sub par. my results are as follows:
down: .21mbps
up: .49mbps
ping: 189ms
i ran my taskiller to kill other apps thinking it would speed my rates up but no real improvements. the funny thing is if i tether my phone via easytether and run the speedtest on my laptop my rates jump to over 1 full mbps. not sure why though

For some reason earlier today I was able to update an app then somone made a suggestion to try a keyboard app when I went to download it, it would just keep cycling I tried downloading something completely different and update another app and it's doing the something. I have done a couple of battery pulls, resets, and cleared the data from the app market by going thru setting(googled that one). Does anyone have any suggestions what to do next or what maybe causing it?

Im trying to do my first theme, and know i wanna deo' as well. when i goto the blackglass website, none of the links/icons transfer or download.
I thought it was the easiest way to deodex, too, so im kinda stuck. I have the bootstrap ready to go (havent given superuser yet, because i dont know what to do here).

Just have a quick question: whenever I download zip files from all....droid(specially the theme files etc) using dolphin browser it asks me to save as "file.php". I usually download it on to my computer and unzip it prior to moving it to my sd card.Tried renaming the .php file to .zip once its downloaded onto the sd card. Problem is that trying to access it gives me an error message. When I do it from a PC it works fine though.

In a detailed explanation please tell me how to install and backup and all of that fun stuffs. Again, I don't know how to do anything without direction! And 2nd, Set CPU, I just need all the info. I need to know on this application, and how to use it.
