Motorola Droid :: Beautiful Widgets Getting Taken Off Market
Dec 16, 2009According to the latest update (2.36) the developer noted that he received a ceast and desist letter from HTC regarding the application. He noted to use a backup program to save the application if you want to use it going forward.Quite unfortunate, but figured it was worth mentioning if others haven't seen it.

Jun 6, 2010I've noticed that when I click on the time, the alarm no longer comes up like it used to in 2.1. I couldn't find a way to set it to do this in the settings either. The only "fix" I found was to download a 3rd party alarm off the market and set that application to open when I click on the time. Anyone else having this problem?

Sep 2, 2010I figured I'd post this here since the issue didn't appear until I installed the FlyX ROM.When I press the weather on the home screen the forecast effect is no longer showing above the 4 day forecast.I've checked through the settings and it's nothing there so I'm not sure what's causing the issue.Is anyone else experiencing this?

I'd like to back it up so I can use it again, since HTC decided to be dicks and send them a C&D and make them remove it from the marketplace.I've already used Astro File Manager to search all directories for the file but can't find it or any widget for that matter. Jan 21, 2010I don't know how many of you have purchased Beautiful Widgets from the Android Market, but I was wondering if this can be used to run in the background like the HTC HD2. If you notice on the HTC the weather is something that is in the background and when it rains or is cloudy the droplets trickle down the screen or the clouds float across the screen. When you open up beautiful widget weather, it does the same thing. Is that something that can be incorporated onto the Moto Droid homescreen much like the live wallpapers, or do you need to have sense as a ui?

Installed Launcher Pro and managed to find the setting to get my 7 screens back, then bought the Beautiful Widgets, but getting the exact skin is elusive. I'd like to get it to look just like the Inc. Also, is there a way to change the setting once it's on the screen? I have to drag the icon to the trash, then add a new one each time to change it. At least it remembers the last settings.

Feb 27, 2010I was having issues with the home clock/weather thingy on my Eris so I downloaded Beautiful Widgets - my husband is running it on his Moto Droid and loves it. Anyway, ever since I installed it two days ago the widgets keep turning themselves off and on.This morning I put the phone in vibrate mode and several hours later (after I missed a call) I looked and phone was in silent mode with vibrate mode still turned on. Also, twice now my mobile connection has turned off by itself. (I have the HTC widget installed on one of my homescreens.) I only discovered this when I tried to browse a webpage. Who knows at what point the mobile network was turned off. I don't exactly know how beautiful widgets turns itself off but it's concerning to me that it could also turn the mobile network off somehow too. (I have to assume BW is causing the issue as it had never happened before it was installed.)Help? Ideas?

Jul 26, 2010I just installed BW along with launcherpro...and while I do enjoy launcherpro, BW sucks because the weather is like 20 degrees off and no matter what I do, it stays that way. Basically, nothing I've seen is better than HTC Sense weather clock.Are there any GOOD alternatives to BW that includes a clock and weather animations or at least a good weather/clock combination?

Dec 16, 2009I sent HTC a E-mail regarding them taking it down, and this is what the sent back.I am sorry about any inconvenience that this has caused you. The Beautiful Widgets Application was probably removed from the Android Market because of coding errors. I would suggest contacting the developer of the application. There may be other applications on the Android Market that are similar to this application. HTC does not have control of what is removed from the market. You would need to contact someone from android.com, because they are the developers and they would be the ones to flag programs from the site.

Mar 29, 2010Was wondering if I would have to have my GPS turned on for it to work properly? Or, could I use it with GPS off with it being able to work OK with network based locations? I ask because I usually keep my GPS off to conserve battery power.
