Motorola Droid :: App That Streams Electronica Type Music?
Mar 27, 2010
I am still relatively new to android apps and was wondering if there was an app any of you might know of that would enable me to listen to Electronica/House/Trance type radio stations?

I have the paid application PhoneMyPC and it's truly great. It does everything that it claims to do really well. The only thing that is lacking is the streaming of audio. Is there an app similar to PhoneMyPC that streams audio as well as video?

The day has finally come for the big announcement event. Most of us plan on following the conference live online, through a blog or hopefully a video/audio stream. This is a private event, so the chance of a video stream is obviously low. Nonetheless, I will be hunting the internet for a live feed just in case one's out there.
Let's use this thread to post links to the live blogs and/or streams, to make it a bit easier for people that aren't sure where to look. I'll do my best to update this first post throughout the day to reflect newly found links.

Music101 question: Im new to Android and I have a CLIQ.
I just copyied music files from my Windows-based pc the they all copied with no problem. The issue is when I go to play the music I have to force close the app repeatedly then I get an error message saying "sorry player does not support this type of audio file".
Is there an app available to convert files or did I mess up the path in someway that the songs, all mp3's btw, just aren't being located properly?

I am wondering what the charging port type is on the droid? I just noticed that my droid car mount will slide onto my motorcycle TomTom mount. The problem is I wired my bike with the standard USB charger. The droid uses some different type of usb connector. What do they call it? Do they make an adaptor to go from the Droid connector to the standard USB connector?

I'm thinking of giving VZW another try and I'm wondering what type of in-store availability the Droid X has? Is it sold out pretty much everywhere like the EVO? I'm not an on-line buyer so in-store is the way I go!! I know Best Buy has a waiting list. Just wondering what type of supply VZW corporate stores are experiencing.

This is quick and easy. Can I get a sampling of what people are using for podcasting apps and likes/dislikes? Here is what I want to be able to do:
1. ESPN-"type" podcasts (scheduled, generally weekly, etc.)
2. Semi-"custom" podcasts (hometown newspaper podcasts, generally not scheduled)
Would preferably like something I can schedule to download at night.

Do any of you have any idea how a 1GHz processor in the Dragon will compare with the type of processor in the Droid? If the Dragon/Passion is as fast or faster than the Droid then I think that's the one I'd get. I absolutely love the Sense UI. However, I kind of like the idea of a keyboard in landscape mode so I get to use the entire screen all the time. What do you all think? Do you have any insight on the overall speed differences between these processors/phones?

Is there a way to have the led on the phone show different colors for different types of messages? This was a feature on my old BlackBerry, via an app called Berry Buzz. Didn't know if there was an app like this or a setting to change this?

It seems to REALLY "hang up" sometimes. Like I try touching to type in text, and it will take FOREVER sometimes to pull up the virtual keyboard. And multiple touches at times. Other than that, it's force closing my apps a LOT. iMusic, Messaging, Facebook... all force close regular. Tried removing apps, no change.

new to Droid here and loving it. Much better then the Eris in my mind. One quick question: when I try to check my voice mail and it ask me to type in password and hit pound button for some reason when I hit dial pad it flashes on and off and doesn't let me keep it on to punch in my password. Any thoughts on how I can fix that. When I notice I have a voice mail I swipe the notification bar and dial voice mail that way.

This is driving me nuts! Ive had my phone for a week and all of a sudden today it makes the worst clicking sounds when I type anything. It literally sounds like a typewriter.
I have Settings>Sound & Display>Audible selection "unchecked" and I still get this.
Can anyone help me figure out how to turn this off?
Ok I found it and boy did I have to do some digging. settings>applications>running services>android keyboard>Sound on Keypress = Uncheck.

I have found this forum very helpful, but can't find my issue anywhere. I just recently switched to the Droid X from an Omnia i910 (verizon) and love it! I used SMS Exporter (WM) and SMSBackup (android) to copy all of my SMS over. It worked perfectly; however, when i view a conversation my text box displays "A valid address is required to send this message". I am unable to type anything to text. If I open a new message and send it to the same contact, it updates in the conversation. When I open the conversation the error is still there.
I used the method from: here to do the SMS transfer.
I have also verified that all my contact names match up, and this issue effects all of my messages.

Ok non-rooted droid. Using the stock media player it will not let me play a certain folder that I downloaded. I can not figure out why it will not play any of the songs on in that certain folder. I downloaded the whole disc set of a certain artist and this is the only folder that does it. I checked and every song is 317 kbps MP3 format. I have some music that I downloaded using iMusic and it is 320 kbps MP3 format, so I have deducted the bitrate as being the issue.

I thought this thread might be a good way for developers to see the type of apps that people want, and hopefully write them.
I would like an app that shows me on a map which cell tower my phone is using, signal strength, etc.

AOR by leadapps did this well. But when I upgraded my moment to eclair 2.1, I could no longer find the app. This is one reason the android experience has been a let down for me; I'm no bagger or birther, but damn...this is one socialist OS. Anyway, what have you used to hear streams of .aac's?

Sorry if you aren't into Twit, but I watch that livestream pretty regularly.

I am developing a multiplayer game on android. I am having a Java server and android client. The android client issues multiple requests and receives responses from the server. However the performance is not smooth. At times the data received at the Java server is not what I send from android. It is junk or zeroes. However, some times, data is correctly received.
I was wondering is there any data loss in between and why? I am using java.net on both ends. Please let me know if anybody was facing a similar problem anytime during android development.
