Mar 26, 2010Does anyone know how to type the backtick symbol on the droid? the symbol looks like this ` and is usually located on the same key as the tilde on US keyboards.

HTC EVO 4G : Steps To Type Degree Symbol On Phone?
Oct 29, 2010On your HTC EVO 4G, go to Settings > Language & keyboard > Touch Input > International keyboard and check the box in the screen shot attached. Now go into the app that you want to type the degree symbol in and use the microphone key with the EN underneath to access the degree symbol. Go to 12# > 1/3 and you will see a degree symbol, along with the degree C & degree F symbols.

Oct 6, 2010I rooted my phone Friday and it is now Tuesday(Got my phone in August). I installed some apps that are rooted only. Tethering, Overclock Widget, Titanium Backup, ROM manager.When I tried to install a new ROM I was getting download errors. I saw something about ADW.Launcher so I downloaded that and got a theme for it. Today when I reinstalled the Cyanogen 6.0.0. Stable release and rebooted my phone I would get to the Motorola Symbol. After that I got to my custom boot image(Dancing Droids). The image got half way doing its animation it restarted from the begging this continued until I took out the battery. Went into recovery mod and the Cyanogen boot image appeared and did the same as my Dancing Droid but completed 1 1/2 circles with the blue flame. When I got home I plugged in my phone flashed a 2.2 FRG22D.sbf file. I then used RSD lite and connected my phone. Had some trouble flashing the file but eventually got it. When I went back to the boot loader screen and cleared my cache/data(thought it would help) I restarted my phone. Watched and Motorola symbol appear and posted this 1 hour later. Can someone please tell me what I did wrong or what to do?

May 7, 2010I have searched everywhere on the forums and Google and can't seem to find how to type the special character referred to as a Backtick or more accurately known as a Grave Accent. It is the character usually located just under the ESC key on your keyboard and is usually shared with the Tilde (~). From my searches I have learned that this character is often used in certain programming languages and such. I need this character on my Incredible as I use it in many of my passwords. It seems that phones with a physical keyboard have a way to type the backtick using a set of keystrokes. I used to have a Blackberry Storm and its soft keyboard contained this character.

Aug 24, 2010I am trying to install a rom (Liquid Frozen Yogurt) onto my Motorola Droid. I rebooted, came back and there is a strange symbol on the screen. It is a triangle with an exclamation mark in the middle, and it is standing upright staring down at my phone laying flat. I'm not sure if it's working away, or if this is some problem.

Sep 22, 2010I updated this morning, but after the update it stuck at the 'Motorola' symbol after the reboot. I had to reboot the phone 5 times to get it work and it was fine; however, i just installed flash and have rebooted 5 times and the phone screen is still stuck at the Motorola symbol upon restart. I can hear emails coming in and i can turn the screen on and off but no go. Looks like I am going to Verizon.

Motorola Droid :: Flashed Updated ROM - Won't Go Past Moto Symbol
Feb 17, 2010SO the first time I rooted and the first update I did gave me some problems. When the phone rebooted after the flash the Moto symbol would come up and not go any further. Either that or the symbol would show up and then the phone would reset after five seconds. So I did a few battery pulls and finally got it to work after a while. Ever since the 2.0.4 update I cannot get the phone past the Moto screen. I've tried about 12 times between that and 2.0.5 and I have to keep restoring back to my original settings before I flashed any of the ROMs. Anyone know why this is happening? I loved my phone so much more when I had the Smoked Glass 2.1 ROM and OC.

Motorola Droid :: Dragon - Compare With The Type Of Processor
Oct 26, 2009Do any of you have any idea how a 1GHz processor in the Dragon will compare with the type of processor in the Droid? If the Dragon/Passion is as fast or faster than the Droid then I think that's the one I'd get. I absolutely love the Sense UI. However, I kind of like the idea of a keyboard in landscape mode so I get to use the entire screen all the time. What do you all think? Do you have any insight on the overall speed differences between these processors/phones?

Nov 29, 2009Got a HTC Droid Eris the other day and absolutely love it.However, when adding a new contact on the phone, the drop bown menu box only lists "Phone" and does NOT give a "Google" or "Exchange" option as is indicated on p. 72 of the pdf "User Guide for Droid HTC Eris" by Verizon. I have examined 3 others Droid Eris phones of friends/family, and on each of their phones when adding a new contact the drop down menu box does list the "Google" option in addition to the "Phone" option.The problem with not being able to select "Google" as the contact type is that the contact information does not "sync" with the Gmail "Contacts List" online.

Dec 1, 2009It seems to REALLY "hang up" sometimes. Like I try touching to type in text, and it will take FOREVER sometimes to pull up the virtual keyboard. And multiple touches at times. Other than that, it's force closing my apps a LOT. iMusic, Messaging, Facebook... all force close regular. Tried removing apps, no change.

Jul 16, 2010new to Droid here and loving it. Much better then the Eris in my mind. One quick question: when I try to check my voice mail and it ask me to type in password and hit pound button for some reason when I hit dial pad it flashes on and off and doesn't let me keep it on to punch in my password. Any thoughts on how I can fix that. When I notice I have a voice mail I swipe the notification bar and dial voice mail that way.

Nov 18, 2009This is driving me nuts! Ive had my phone for a week and all of a sudden today it makes the worst clicking sounds when I type anything. It literally sounds like a typewriter.
I have Settings>Sound & Display>Audible selection "unchecked" and I still get this.
Can anyone help me figure out how to turn this off?
Ok I found it and boy did I have to do some digging. settings>applications>running services>android keyboard>Sound on Keypress = Uncheck.
