Android :: I/O Streams - Multiplayer Game?
Nov 11, 2010I am developing a multiplayer game on android. I am having a Java server and android client. The android client issues multiple requests and receives responses from the server. However the performance is not smooth. At times the data received at the Java server is not what I send from android. It is junk or zeroes. However, some times, data is correctly received.
I was wondering is there any data loss in between and why? I am using java.net on both ends. Please let me know if anybody was facing a similar problem anytime during android development.

The strange thing is that nothing is shown in the TextField. If I test the code in a standard java project the printing of the data (with println) works correctly in the console. But when i run it on the android vmachine nothing is shown. I got no more ideas left to proof the code. Anyone has some advices for a newcomer?
Android :: PVMFFailure When Using MediaPlayer For Radio Streams
Sep 1, 2009I am trying to build streaming radio into my app, which works fines streaming files over the internet, but when i try to use a shoutcast url in get the error below, which from the soruce code looks liek the mediaPlayer is looking for the duration in the header. Does anyone know if shoutcast urls will work withthe default media player? Or do i have to download chunks into a ping-pong buffer sor something? The url has no porblems downloading via the browser.

Android :: Accessing The Data - Voice Streams And IOS Platforms
Sep 28, 2010I haven't done any work with the Android or iOS platforms, but I have recently been pitched a project and I'm trying to see if it is even feasible.
Is there currently API hooks in the iOS and Android platforms for accessing / manipulating the voice / data streams? What I would like to do is encrypt all outgoing steams and decrypt all incoming streams before they reach and other processes that need that data.
I would assume that because the Android platform is open source one should be able to do this, it just may have to be hacked together. I'm more worried about iOS.

I see below listed fields are query-able with metadata of file through stagefright, but not scan-type which i guess is avaiable in MP4 file header. Any hint on how to detect scan-type of video file at Stagefright player driver? Or is it available in opencore?

But when I upgraded my moment to eclair 2.1, I could no longer find the app. This is one reason the android experience has been a let down for me; I'm no bagger or birther, but damn...this is one socialist OS. Sep 28, 2010For example, Gensoid Lite, a Sega Genesis emulator, allows you to create homescreen shortcuts to launch specific ROMs inside the app. Are there any internet radio apps that have this same functionality? I'd like to create some icons to access my favorite stations right from the homescreen instead of opening the app and going through there. I've tried XiiaLive, Cherry rPlayer, Google Listen, and TuneIn Radio and none of those have this functionality.

Oct 10, 2013I just switched from WebOS so I'm quite a noob to Android. Anyways, I bought a new Samsung Galaxy Nexus with Android 4.4.
Now to my issue: I like to watch video streams. The problem is, that the display will turn automatically off.
Solutions:
1. Play a stream with a video player - how can I do this?
2. Change settings so the display will not switch off on a stream, but will turn off when idle - is this even possible?
3. Turn off "turn off display when idle" setting - but I don't like this one.
Sprint HTC Hero :: MP4 Won't Play Though Picture Folder But Play When I Click On Directly
Nov 17, 2010I just received an MP4 video that plays really well on my Hero. But it is not visible in the photo gallery of my phone. It's grayed out. When I go into my SD card with a file manager and click on it the movie will play perfectly but it won't play though the photo gallery manager.My real issue is that I have to go into a file manager to find the file and play it instead of using a widget to call up a program that will play it. There is obviously something in the phone that can handle the MP4 format and I just need to know what program to use.

Nov 7, 2013Recently I've been having an issue with Google Play Music where when I play a song, it plays for a second then pauses, so I have to press play to get it going again. This occurs repetitively which means I can't listen to music.
It happens on songs that are being streamed and on songs that are on the device.
Funnily enough, if the song is played through ES file explorer and the little play music popup window comes up, it plays fine.
I've got this issue on both my devices, a tf101 running 4.3 and a nexus 5 with stock 4.4 rooted.
Edit: just remembered, I've also got this issue with MX Player and videos. I can't figure out what's wrong.
Streamed videos played through the gallery video player work fine.

Also, can anyone tell me the difference between voice search and voice dialer? It seems like when I use voice dialer, I say "Call Home" and a list of options pops up of who to call (one choice being Home) (When I wish it would have just automatically called Home), but if I use voice search it automatically does call Home.
HTC Incredible :: Trying To Play Music - Says Unable To Play This Type Of Audio
Apr 28, 2010I took out the 8GB SD card from my Blackberry Storm and put it the Incredible.
I had a bunch of music saved on my SD Card that I downloaded from VZW Music Media thing.
When I go to music on the Incredible and go over the song (it shows the picture of the album of the song)

Now i tried to play a video file .3gp from the internet youtube link via my android device ! not emulator. And it worked! But when i tried to play a video file .3gp or .mp4( i converted the mp4 from 3gp ) its not working. Im getting error "Cannot play video Sorry, this video cannot be played"

Jul 31, 2010Coming from a Iphone to the X the music player is a little lacking. Often I will go into a certain artist and want to play all the songs by that artist, or thumb through all their songs to find a certain one. On the stock music player on the X this seems hard to do (maybe I'm missing something).
if I pull up the music by artist and select a certain artist then it shows me all their albums (The iphone has the option at this point to select all albums and see all the songs of that artist in alphabetical order). The X doesn't give a option to select all albums at this point. If I go to artists and long press on a certain artist I can select play and it will start playing all that artists songs, then I can hit pause and go into the list from that point to see all the songs but they seem to be in a random order making it hard to find a specific song.
I've tried a couple other players and haven't been able to find one that functions like the Iphone, makes it hard to quickly find one song.
