My sync icon in the notification bar will not go away. Anyone know why? I'm not sure how to check if my google account is being synced correctly, I don't think it's syncing correctly.

Anyone know how to get the sync icon in the notification bar to go away. I've done everything. Turned off all email auto pull. Turned off facebook contacts. I can restart and if will go away for a few mins and come back. This all started after 2.2 upgrade.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just went from 2.2 leak to 2.1 and then to OTA 2.2.
When I got to 2.2 OTA, I did Titanium "restore all apps with data" (not the option with "all system data").
Now, I have a sync icon in my notification bar that won't go away.
In settings->accounts, I have no accounts at all set to sync (I even unchecked my google contacts and calendar).
I already did one system format (because the first time I restored with titanium I restored system data too and saw in some other threads that could be a cause). After the system restore, but before titanium, I wasn't getting the sync icon.
I can't not use titanium to restore or it'd be a huge task to get things back to the way they were.
So earlier today I flashed cyanogen's rom and noticed that the battery icon on the notification bar had the battery % on the battery, the built in one not the on from the battery indicator app, and I thought that looked really slick. I was wondering if there was a way I could get that thru using metamorph or something.

I downloaded an imagine off Google picasa, it was successful, I cleared it, now every day the icon will appear with the same file name only a different time. I clear it every time I see it and every day it reappears.
View 16 Replies View RelatedI've had a D2 for some time now. no issues. My wife bought a D2 last night and wants to put music on her phone for ringers. I used Sailing media for mine, again no issues. Even with her card formatted and mounted the USB icon in the notification bar will not show up on her phone; therefore making me feel dumb.
My phone no issues, mass storage window pops up along with phone icon, hers.

Its nothing to do with any sort of syncing account, I have it fully turned off, and my accounts removed, but it still shows..
After rooting, the sync icon in my status bar has been stuck. I've tried doing a factory reset as well as removing all my sync accounts.

It never appeared before the update. I looked through the manual both for 1.5 and 2.1 and it is not listed. It looks like an over the ear earpiece facing to the right, with an arc next to it like the satellite icon has when it is connected.

Use case: Yahoo Weather app, the persistent notification in the pulldown is beautiful. I want it to always be there. However, the little temperature notification icon is pretty ugly, and I want to hide/disable it.
Using JB's "disable notifications" won't work since it will disable the entire notification, not just the icon.
Is there anyway to clear the New Voicemail Icon from the notification bar w/o actually Checking the voicemail? It doesn't seem to go away for me when I hit clear notfications lol..... View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm implementing my own sync adapter and everything works great. A strange i'm having is that after the sync is over, the Android still shows the sync icon (the one with the rounded arrow) in the account activity, and that someone (i guess its the account manager) repeatedly calls the sync again and again, every 30 to 60 seconds. Now i tried all sort of things to test this issue and i have discovered something strange. In my code, i do resolver.applyBatch every 50 new rows. (each new contact i sync has about 5 rows). If i remove the applyBatch (which means i retrieve the data from the next, sort it and prepare it, but never "commit" it) - the problem goes away. The icon disappear and the account manager never calls it again on its own (I'm using Android 2.1). I must also state that no exception is being thrown in any of the cases and that all the methods finish gracefully.

View 2 Replies View Relatedi have a Gmail account setup with a pop account tied to my Gmail. on my phone I only have the Gmail account. It does show an @ sign when i get pop mail via Gmail however it doesn't show up as a number on the mail icon. only when i get a true Gmail email does it show up as a number on the icon. once i go into mail and preview the email (pop) it will show as a number on the icon. any ideas?

It's the one that's telling you that there's new updates for you contacts/facebook friends. But, this notification is extremely slow so I see that theres updates on contacts that I saw in the news feed hours ago. Now I do have majority of my contacts synced with facebook obviously and I don't wish to unsynce them. So is there a setting to get rid of that icon?

I'll describe it: it in most ways resembles a little musical note, perhaps an eighth-note, but with a diagonal slash through it (not in a circle as the "no" sign).
Nothing running in the background, music-wise. On page 47 of the user guide/manual is a list of all stock icons; it is not there. No new apps have been installed for weeks.Any ideas as to what it could be?

Which process exactly should I put on the ignore list so it will not kill it.
