Jul 23, 2010After rooting, the sync icon in my status bar has been stuck. I've tried doing a factory reset as well as removing all my sync accounts.

Motorola Droid :: Root 2.1 -> OTA 2.2 -> Lost Root But Superuser Permission Icon Still Appears

Motorola Droid - Original
1. Rooted 2.1, then
2. OTA Stock Update to 2.2, then
3. Seem to have lost root, However - I still have the Superuser Permissions Icon.
I use Barnacle for WiFi Tether - I get a "Permission Denied" error when I try to start the application. I also went into the terminal emulator and tried an "su" which also gave a permission denied response. I tried "sudo" and also got permission denied response. Others have told me this is common with this progression of events. However, How do I now ROOT 2.2 in this scenario?
Motorola Droid X :: Sync Icon Won't Go Away - 2.2
Sep 23, 2010I just went from 2.2 leak to 2.1 and then to OTA 2.2.
When I got to 2.2 OTA, I did Titanium "restore all apps with data" (not the option with "all system data").
Now, I have a sync icon in my notification bar that won't go away.
In settings->accounts, I have no accounts at all set to sync (I even unchecked my google contacts and calendar).
I already did one system format (because the first time I restored with titanium I restored system data too and saw in some other threads that could be a cause). After the system restore, but before titanium, I wasn't getting the sync icon.
I can't not use titanium to restore or it'd be a huge task to get things back to the way they were.

Motorola Droid :: Google Calendar Sync After Getting Root
Jun 3, 2010I just got root access the other day, and i'm running the 2.1 ROM (build number ESE81 by Pete) that I got from ROM Manager.I've started to run into an annoyance that I didn't have before (or at least didn't notice)... It doesn't sync with the google calendar correctly.(similar, but not identical, thread here.)It seems to have duplicated all events on all calendars onto the primary calendar. I tried to simply delete the calendar (which actually just removes all events, since you can't really delete it). Even after sync, though, it doesn't delete what was deleted on the webapp. Interestingly enough, it does copy events that i add to the calendar webapp.This means that android sync sees the new events, but doesn't see that all the old events were deleted. Any ideas? I suppose this may just be a GCal bug, but my gut feeling is that it's because of the rooted ROM.

Oct 18, 2010I'm implementing my own sync adapter and everything works great. A strange i'm having is that after the sync is over, the Android still shows the sync icon (the one with the rounded arrow) in the account activity, and that someone (i guess its the account manager) repeatedly calls the sync again and again, every 30 to 60 seconds. Now i tried all sort of things to test this issue and i have discovered something strange. In my code, i do resolver.applyBatch every 50 new rows. (each new contact i sync has about 5 rows). If i remove the applyBatch (which means i retrieve the data from the next, sort it and prepare it, but never "commit" it) - the problem goes away. The icon disappear and the account manager never calls it again on its own (I'm using Android 2.1). I must also state that no exception is being thrown in any of the cases and that all the methods finish gracefully.

May 30, 2012I've been using Go SMS Pro for a long time and have never had this problem. When I get a new text, the Go icon shows up in my notification bar as usual (I have it set to do this), but when I access that text message either from the notification bar pull-down or through the Go SMS app itself, the icon still remains in my notification bar. The only way to remove it is to pull down my notifications and hit "clear". I believe I have all my settings in order (stock notifs off, etc.).

Jun 21, 2013The Original email app on my galaxy s3 one day decided to become stuck on 1 unread email. Whether i have read all emails or 5 unread emails, the app displays 1 unread email.I have tried 'Clearing cache' and 'Clear data' several times on both the email app and gmail(Gmail just for the sake of it even though it is unrelated)also, deleted all my inbox, junk and trash emails online. However, no matter what i do the icon still displays 1 unread email.
My phone is not rooted and has been and still working perfectly fine apart from this issue.I know that the issue isn't that big of a deal since technically email and everything is working, but that 1 on the email icon really annoys me.I have uploaded a screenshot of what i'm talking about just incase i haven't made myself clear.

Apr 16, 2010Have just got my HTC Desire. I switched the phone on for the first time and it's stuck on a screen with a green icon on. The icon is a down arrow with two arrows going around in a circle. Jan 27, 2013No root..Firmware v. B104...New phone, got it in late December 2012. Handled with great care. Battery icon and battery graph stuck on 50%. Never know how much battery juice I've got left. No warnings, just powers off when it's empty.
Tried:
- Factory reset
- Attempted hard reset, but I'm not sure it worked, 'cause nothing special happened on my screen.
- Completely draining the battery (as an equivalent to removing the battery. Non-removable battery on this one)
I have been looking for firmware updates, but I can't find any for my B104, and if I have understood it correctly, applying an update for the B226 will most probably render my device useless.I am quite satisfied with this phone, it is magnificent, so I do not want to root it unless I absolutely have to. May 10, 2010I'm trying to gain root and having some problems...
I had my droid rooted for some time, running droid mod 1.0. All was well until recently the battery life turned to shit (followed all guides to resolve recent OTA update issues, but still shitty.) Because of this, I decided I would go back to stock, since I couldn't justify the rom's features if the battery would kick out after 16 hours. So I returned to stock no problem and received the OTA to upgrade to 2.1.
After getting the upgrade to 2.1, I wanted to at least have root access to run a few programs. I followed this guide:

to get SPRecovery back on my phone. Everything went well, it all checked out. After that I used SPRecovery to install the root update.zip. This worked fine, the root access app is in my tray and everything seems to be fine... HOWEVER when opening programs that require root access (setcpu and adfree are the ones I've tried) they say I don't have root access. I have tried reinstalling the update.zip file to no luck. USB debugging is ON. Is there a special update.zip to gain root on 2.1 (I saw no posts about that)? Is there some setting I missed this time around that I didn't the first time I rooted?
HTC EVO 4G :: 2.2 To 2.1 And Root - Now Stuck At Bootloader
Aug 30, 2010I tried the 2.2 root process. short and sweet is downgrade 2.2 to 2.1. Bunch of command line stuff. Install usb drivers, open program to flash and it reboots the phone, then more command line stuff, then installs custom 2.2 and you are now rooted. I got to where I install the custom usb drivers and open the reflash program. All it does is go to the bootloader and sit there. I said screw it and was going to just reinstall 2.2 and be done with the attempt of rooting until a 1 click type came out. Problems is, now I cant even install 2.2. Sits at the bootloader screen. Called Sprint and they tried to help me do a factory reset by going to the phone app and typing ##87# or something.
When I hit reset it was supposed to show a screen thats wiping and reinstalling or something. Nothing happen. Stuck at that bootloader screen again. So here is what I think happened and I need help fixing it. I installed a newer bootloader or older one or something and the new 2.2 is having a hard time getting past it or I just completely screwed it all up. I am currently on 2.1 and all is working fine but I cant upgrade or anything. What are my options and how do I get this back to 2.2? Would love to try and root it and be done. Or just plug it into the PC and reinstall everything back to factory but I am coming from the iPhone where that is possible and I guess you cant on HTC.

Sep 8, 2010Google sync has been working fine till my Hero finally updated to all the latest software/firmware last weekend. Since then, it has continually failed to sync Google calendar (mail and contacts are fine) BUT it tries all the time - exhausting the battery every 12 hours in the process! I've seen suggestions to remove the account and re-set it up but it won't let me. Try to delete it and it says "This account is required by some applications. You can only delete it by resetting the phone to factory defaults which deletes all your personal data". It even continues to try and sync when 'Sync calendar' is NOT ticked on the 'data & sync' page! Any suggestions, or do I really need to go back to factory settings?
(& if so, how do I do that?)

Just now I tried going into recovery/download mode to see what features it have by pressing the volume down+home+Power button. Now the phone says "Downloading Do not turn of target! What can I do to solve this problem. Till now I haven't tried to restart the phone? Should I do that?
