Just a simple? the power widget has the little sync icon. Is that for the sync of all apps on the phone like email, facebook, news, and anyother widget that updates and use data. It allows me to turn data on/off to all these programs rite? New to Andriod so please bear with me.

View 3 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone have an issue where if they toggle GPS off using the power widget, then goes back to re-enable the GPS, the GPS doesn't quite work right. I saw this yesterday the GPS was all wacky and GN wouldn't lock but maps would. I restarted the phone, and it worked great. I see this from time to time.

View 13 Replies View RelatedI just went from 2.2 leak to 2.1 and then to OTA 2.2.
When I got to 2.2 OTA, I did Titanium "restore all apps with data" (not the option with "all system data").
Now, I have a sync icon in my notification bar that won't go away.
In settings->accounts, I have no accounts at all set to sync (I even unchecked my google contacts and calendar).
I already did one system format (because the first time I restored with titanium I restored system data too and saw in some other threads that could be a cause). After the system restore, but before titanium, I wasn't getting the sync icon.
I can't not use titanium to restore or it'd be a huge task to get things back to the way they were.
My sync icon in the notification bar will not go away. Anyone know why? I'm not sure how to check if my google account is being synced correctly, I don't think it's syncing correctly.

Its nothing to do with any sort of syncing account, I have it fully turned off, and my accounts removed, but it still shows..
After rooting, the sync icon in my status bar has been stuck. I've tried doing a factory reset as well as removing all my sync accounts.
View 21 Replies View RelatedWhen I exit out of an app the screen is blank for 30 seconds or so before my widgets and icons reappear. I had it back in November 2009 and I still have it after 2.0.1 and 2.1 and 2.2 and the other 2.2. I see a million threads here and on other forums asking about it. Just checking in to see if there was ever a solution discovered. Like all of you, I can always bring them back with a hard or soft reset.
I'm just wondering if anyone has found a way to prevent it from happening in the first place. I assume that it's related to available memory or processor or something, so every once in a while I think "I'm going to streamline this thing and give it all kinds of available memory" and it doesn't work. I kill all widgets and go to vanilla wallpaper and it still happens. Anyone figure this thing out?
Since this afternoon, the sync icon (Arrows that point to each other and form a circle) won't go away.
I'm not sure if it's doing anything. I even tried turning sync off altogether but it won't go away.
Tried shutting down twice.
Anyway to get this on 1.5? or no?

For some reason the power control widget won't activate my wireless. It will turn green, but won't connect. I have to go through Settings/Wireless & networks/ then tap Wifi Settings, and it will automatically connect. I don't have to choose a network, I just tap on Wifi Settings and then it connects.

A strange i'm having is that after the sync is over, the Android still shows the sync icon (the one with the rounded arrow) in the account activity, and that someone (i guess its the account manager) repeatedly calls the sync again and again, every 30 to 60 seconds. Now i tried all sort of things to test this issue and i have discovered something strange. In my code, i do resolver.applyBatch every 50 new rows. (each new contact i sync has about 5 rows). If i remove the applyBatch (which means i retrieve the data from the next, sort it and prepare it, but never "commit" it) - the problem goes away. The icon disappear and the account manager never calls it again on its own (I'm using Android 2.1). I must also state that no exception is being thrown in any of the cases and that all the methods finish gracefully.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am writing my first application and am trying to get my widget to load a different image when it is added to the home screen based on the state of the notification volume.It is detecting the notification state fine and the proper Toast messages appear when I add the widget, but I'm not getting any icon.I just get an empty button.I'm using the same code to change the icon in my onReceive() method to do other things and that works fine.Is this the proper way to accomplish that?

View 4 Replies View RelatedJust got my EVO a couple days ago so I am still learning. Where do I download widgets?? Also it has a widget to turn on and off 4g, wifi, gps. Is there any way that I can add a toggle for turning on off mobile network and cdma vs. gsm? I have a horrible signal at my office so the phone constantly searches for a signal and kills my battery. I don't want to turn on airplane mode because I do still get calls and need my phone to at least kind of work.
