I recently switched from sense to home and I have a little problem.My email and messages icons dont have the notification icon when I receive my emails.Usually if you have two or three new emails it says so on the icon, well im not getting this.I am getting the notification icon up the task bar, but not on the icon.What to do?

Hello! I'm trying to set up my wife's droid 2. She uses outlook at work. I have outlook webmail set up on her phone. She is able to receive work emails but can not reply or send an email on her phone. It always says message not sent. Is there a setting I'm missing?

(I guess more realistically - as soon as it's started and Matt is able to get the thread updated - but I've got faith in 'ol Matt!) You do have to be a member there to subscribe.
For those of you not looking to sign up there - you can subscribe to THIS thread for instant email notification if you'd like. As soon as I get his email - I'll repost it here saying so. Yes, the notice will be a hair behind the very instant it is released, but with any luck not too behind. I will delete this thread after the update is complete. Can we set up the trackball light to light up when we receive new emails? as i can only get it to light up on receiving new texts, and phonecalls.

Why is it that I have an separate icon for GMAIL, EMAIL , and MESSAGES? Why is Gmail separate from the "email" icon? and why can't I have my email and gmail as an icon in my messages box which currently houses the universal inbox, facebook, and twitter, and text messaging?
View 13 Replies View RelatedIm using the stock messaging app and for about 3 weeks or so I haven't been able to receive an MMS messages. Everytime i receive one it will say in the notification bar "message not downloaded, retransmission scheduled for xx:xx" and in the actual message there is an option to download but when that is selected it just reverts back to the message in the notification bar.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI had hard reset my phone earlier on because I'd accidentally locked myself out of it, stupid as it sounds. I was playing with the lock screen and had accidentally set up a random lock code which I was unable to remember.Ever since then, I've not been able to send or receive text messages. I can make calls, go on the web and and even update my Facebook status from my Contact Card. Any suggestions? I've soft reset the phone, hard reset it once more, taken out the battery, all that good stuff.When I try to send a message, I get this Error code coming up a moment later.

It comes up as Network not responding or some kind of Radio Interface Source error...also when I make phone calls it always comes up restricted. I've contacted Verizon support and they have not resolved the issue...has anyone else had this problem?

I went into the application manager and cleared the app data, and also power cycled the phone. Any other suggestions? I doesn't appear i can delete and re-download.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI set my gmail account with the email icon/app on my home screen.I did it with the POP/IMPAP option because the other one wouldn't work (don't know what either of those mean).My problem is I can't get it to download my emails by itself. I have to go in and refresh. I have set it to check every 5mins and to alert me but it just wont unless I refresh. I'm assuming there's somthing I'm missing.Also, I just discovered there's a gmail app in that list that gets the emails instantly. It will make a sound with a new email, but I have to go to that list then to the gmail app to check.What I want is to be notified of my emails and have some icon be it the email one or the gmail one on my home page that lets me know I have an email.The other thing is the youtube app, but its seems lots of people are having that trouble.Also, how do I sync access my gmail contacts on my phone on either the gmail app or the email app. I can't see contacts on either right now.

I don't just mean add an icon or widget, i mean change icon appearances with BetterCut, rearrange icons/widgets...add/remove the amount of screens, change background images and lockscreens.....you get the point. so with that being said, how often do you change your eris layout???

View 1 Replies View RelatedI got my Eris 2 days ago. I updated to 2.1 yesterday, using the update function. I notice there is a new notification? icon in the top bar. It never appeared before the update. I looked through the manual both for 1.5 and 2.1 and it is not listed. It looks like an over the ear earpiece facing to the right, with an arc next to it like the satellite icon has when it is connected.

Had my Desire for a week now and synced it to Google mail fine. In the last few days though it doesn't make the message notification sound when I receive an email, which it did for the first few days. I haven't changed anything I'm aware of so anyone know whats up?
View 2 Replies View Relatedshould the voice mail icon have a number on it like the email or text icons if you get a new voicemail? If I get a notification, it only shows up on the task bar. I was also experiencing not recieving texts. I have since done a reset which fixed the text issue (and sleep-for now), but not the voicemail. Should I take the phone back? I fear its anotjer software bug, not hardware. I love this phone, but I'm getting very annoyed that it can't even do what its suppose to.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy husband and i just got Droid X's. We have a business with a website and associated webmail. Our email address is an IMAP account created by our website developer. After trying to configure the embedded mail program, we installed K9 based on a lot of good reviews on this site. We've got it working, the only issue is we can't seem to get it to automatically notify us when a new email comes in as the phone does with Gmail. The notification doesn't come in at all - you have to go into K9 and "Get Mail". We have it set to sync all folders.

It does show an @ sign when i get pop mail via Gmail however it doesn't show up as a number on the mail icon. only when i get a true Gmail email does it show up as a number on the icon. once i go into mail and preview the email (pop) it will show as a number on the icon. any ideas?

It's the one that's telling you that there's new updates for you contacts/facebook friends. But, this notification is extremely slow so I see that theres updates on contacts that I saw in the news feed hours ago. Now I do have majority of my contacts synced with facebook obviously and I don't wish to unsynce them. So is there a setting to get rid of that icon?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI hate posting a query about something so seemingly simple. I googled around and can't find a duplication of the icon in the notification area of my new (since January) Eris running 1.5 stock.
I'll describe it: it in most ways resembles a little musical note, perhaps an eighth-note, but with a diagonal slash through it (not in a circle as the "no" sign).
Nothing running in the background, music-wise. On page 47 of the user guide/manual is a list of all stock icons; it is not there. No new apps have been installed for weeks.Any ideas as to what it could be?
i've changed three android tablets so far, rooted my phone, installed and tweaked dozen of roms on it,
on both my tablet and phone i have facebook and gmail applications. they are basically the same .apks since i have a backup of them on a sd card and if i format one device, i often use restire the apps from the sd card.
and you know how you get an instant notification on your phone if you receive a fb message or an e-mail? that doesn't happen on my tablet. it seems that a couple of minutes after i turn off the display on my tablet, it drops the wifi connection (a power save thing i suppose).
is there any way to ensure a constant wifi connection on my tablet so that i receive email/fb notifications in real time and just not after i turn the display on?
Like most ppl on here, I previously owned a Blackberry and am accustom to having separate icons for each email account. So far I have three email accounts including my gmail account on my eris. When I first setup my msn, and school email I was able to separate the accounts into two separate icons. Now that I have figured out how to add my yahoo account I would like to have a separate icon for this also but can't figure out how I did this the first time.
