Is there a way to make the alarm clock icon go away in the notification bar? I'm big on minimalism, so I try and have as few icons up there as possible. I have alarms set every day, and I see no need to have an icon up there to remind me. Trust me, being woken up that early every day is reminder enough.

I just got my captivate about a week ago and have been having issues with my alarm clock. I set my alarm to wake me up every morning. Some mornings I am up before the alarm goes off so I turn it off, or atleast I think I turn it off. When the alarm is on I see the clock in the notification bar. So when I wake up I click the clock icon and turn off the alarm. I no longer see the icon on the notification bar but the alarm seems to go off anyway. The repeat for the alarm is set at "once". I just go in every night and turn it on. It just seems to go off anyway even when it is turned off earlier in the morning.ks

View 5 Replies View RelatedSo I never used the alarm before (in 2.1 or 2.2) I was using the stock alarm clock in 2.2 for the first time this morning. But when the alarm went off, there was no sound, only vibration (fortunately the sound of the vibration on the table was enough to wake me up!). The first issue is that there was no ringtone sound even though the volume was on and a ringtone was set. Then next issue is that when I went to slide the slider to dismiss the alarm, it didn't do anything. The phone kept vibrating madly and the phone was fully functional. When I went to open the alarm panel again (through the app drawer, cause it was no longer a status icon), it said the alarm was off, even though the phone kept vibrating. The only way I could get the darn thing to stop vibrating was to turn the phone completely off then back on.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI don't know if anyone else is having these problems with the Droid Unrooted on stock 2.1-update1 (ESE81), but my alarm clock never goes off in the morning at 6:00 AM like I need it to. I don't want to purchase a travel clock. No sounds are off, both Wifi and Cellular Networks are enabled, but it will go off occasionally. (Usually if I set it to go off in the next minute.) Could it be my task manager?
I use the alarm mainly for traveling, I have a dedicated alarm clock that I could use at home, but I would prefer not to.
I had my droid updated to 2.2 by the verizon people the other day and i just noticed now that there is NO alarm clock on it... or am i missing something? i remember 2.1 had it as an app in the app drawer... but there is no alarm clock there now... i even went to settings and searched through all of the apps on the phone and still nothing? i rely on the alarm clock.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a daily recurring alarm set (M-F @ 6am). For some reason, the alarm icon in the notification bar just up and disappears on me occasionally, and I don't know why. The alarm went off this morning, but since I was asleep, I don't know if the icon was up there or not.
Here's the thing. I don't care if it disappears so long as I know that the alarm will go off. But, will it? I don't know for sure unless I see that icon up there in the notification bar (or on the lock screen) that tells me that the alarm is set.
I don't have any task killers or alarm clock applications installed. I once had a task killer installed, but didn't see the point in it so I uninstalled it. I had Kaloer clock installed, but uninstalled it for the same reason.
So I don't know what would be causing the conflict, or would be killing the notification, unless for some reason Angry Birds Rio just loves killing notification icons.
Android 2.2.2 on a Samsung Replenish.
Edit: I should add, when the icon disappeared, I went into the alarms and found that it was, in fact, still set and turned on. If I turn off the alarm, then turn it back on, the icon returns, but then disappears after a while. So, it looks like the alarm stays on, but I still that apprehensive feeling of not knowing for sure because the icon isn't there.
Does anybody know why the alarm clock turns itself off after 10 minutes? This is kind of a problem. I'm very difficult to wake up. I have to set two alarm clocks, and they usually go off for a good 15-20 minutes before my brain even recognizes the sound and wakes me up. I've always been this way.For some reason, though, I've woken up late several times while using the Droid as one of my clocks. I don't remember ever having woken up to silence the alarm or hit snooze, so I could not figure out why it wasn't going off. Today I noticed a notification in the status bar saying "Alarm silenced after 10 minutes". The alarm turns itself off after going off for 10 minutes, apparently?

I use the Motorola Droid Docking Station and want to set the Math Alarm Clock as the default so when I press the Alarm Clock button on the docking screen, it brings me to the settings of the Math Alarm Clock Applicatoin.

I woke up around 10am (2 hours late for work) and looked over at my phone. The alarm had gone off, but only in my headphones which had fallen off during the night. The only time I listen to music is when I am going to bed, but I no longer can because of this problem. Does anyone know how to make alarm clocks ALWAYS play over the speakers? View 4 Replies View RelatedFor anyone who didn't see this already over at alldroid, there is a new ROM that I am using that is pretty sweet, its a 2.0.1 rom with 2.1 apps similar to that of the bugless beauty but it doesn't move the /system apps to /data and the notification bar is a dark transparent with white clock? home screen rotation works too. It is a very nice rom and I think very quick, as quick as the version .5 of the bugless one I was using. He is also coming out with a version with wifi tethering but said u can install it separately and it works. I haven't tested that out yet. All in all its a great rom and I am definitely sticking with this one because the theme applied is super slick!
