It wont go away.. No idea how to get rid of it.. It sometimes disappears, but only for a few minutes. Read about 6 other forum posts and none have helped..
Its nothing to do with any sort of syncing account, I have it fully turned off, and my accounts removed, but it still shows..

I've noticed this happen 2 or 3 different times since Friday. For whatever reason the 3G icon disappears from the title bar but I still show 3-4 bars signal strength. At this time all data access is lost, no response from email, web, talk, etc. I've tried waiting it out but it doesn't seem to respond. During this time I've also tried cycling airplane mode, but that doesn't help. So I power the phone off and back on and it comes up with 3g data access again. Anyone seen this or know how to "wake up" 3g data access again once its gone?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just went from 2.2 leak to 2.1 and then to OTA 2.2.
When I got to 2.2 OTA, I did Titanium "restore all apps with data" (not the option with "all system data").
Now, I have a sync icon in my notification bar that won't go away.
In settings->accounts, I have no accounts at all set to sync (I even unchecked my google contacts and calendar).
I already did one system format (because the first time I restored with titanium I restored system data too and saw in some other threads that could be a cause). After the system restore, but before titanium, I wasn't getting the sync icon.
I can't not use titanium to restore or it'd be a huge task to get things back to the way they were.
My sync icon in the notification bar will not go away. Anyone know why? I'm not sure how to check if my google account is being synced correctly, I don't think it's syncing correctly.

None of the other GPS programs I use have this "problem"... if it is actually a problem. I've read all kinds of articles about the GPS icon staying on after the program exits, but I can't find anything about it disappearing while the application is using it. What causes the GPS icon to disappear?

View 21 Replies View RelatedI have a daily recurring alarm set (M-F @ 6am). For some reason, the alarm icon in the notification bar just up and disappears on me occasionally, and I don't know why. The alarm went off this morning, but since I was asleep, I don't know if the icon was up there or not.
Here's the thing. I don't care if it disappears so long as I know that the alarm will go off. But, will it? I don't know for sure unless I see that icon up there in the notification bar (or on the lock screen) that tells me that the alarm is set.
I don't have any task killers or alarm clock applications installed. I once had a task killer installed, but didn't see the point in it so I uninstalled it. I had Kaloer clock installed, but uninstalled it for the same reason.
So I don't know what would be causing the conflict, or would be killing the notification, unless for some reason Angry Birds Rio just loves killing notification icons.
Android 2.2.2 on a Samsung Replenish.
Edit: I should add, when the icon disappeared, I went into the alarms and found that it was, in fact, still set and turned on. If I turn off the alarm, then turn it back on, the icon returns, but then disappears after a while. So, it looks like the alarm stays on, but I still that apprehensive feeling of not knowing for sure because the icon isn't there.
Since this afternoon, the sync icon (Arrows that point to each other and form a circle) won't go away.
I'm not sure if it's doing anything. I even tried turning sync off altogether but it won't go away.
Tried shutting down twice.
I'm having trouble sending pics, when I get the msg ready it converts the file from sms to mms but when I send it, it just disappears.
View 2 Replies View RelatedEvery once in awhile I'll pull my phone out of sleep and the 3G icon won't be there. I know that the 3G isn't active because I won't receive any emails during that time. It does this seemingly randomly and I can't find a pattern.

I have full reception at my house and this never happened with my old phone. Should i exchange my phone? or is this something that will be fixed in an update?

The only issues come when I reboot my phone and the widget, option for the widget and icon disappear from my phone. I have to uninstall/reinstall it to get it back up again. I emailed the dev and have yet to receive a response. Any ideas on a fix for this or is it just a marketing scam to inflate his download numbers?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI tried using my navigation today to get to a snake call and the it just kept giving me the message Locating GPS. Luckily I had written down some directions before I left. But after over 30 minutes of driving, it never got a GPS lock. I have been keeping the GPS on all the time now because it has been getting worse and worse. At this point, it is about useless for navigation. Any ideas? This is a function that I REALLY need and I need it to work fast and on the fly.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy battery seems to do alright but one thing that has really been bugging me is that every time my battery gets to 30/20% it dies almost instantly lasting no more than 15 minutes from normal usage (texting, checking email).
Is this normal or is mine a bad battery or a battery gone bad rather? Thing is the battery lasts a long except for the last quarter of the battery. I've never seen my battery hit any values below 20% except 5% which is when it turns off immediately after.Call for a replacement battery or is this normal? Do i have to reset my battery or something?
I have stock 2.2 D1 and just this morning my phone will stay on for about 5 minutes then freeze up and restart. Stay on for 5 minutes then restart again. Battery is full...when the screen goes into standby is when it seems to have problems. Just started happening around 10:00am today. Anyone else having issues?

I have 2.2 and am using the standard email app that came with my Droid. It's on my work email account which has it's own server, not a gmail/hotmail etc.

View 4 Replies View RelatedStock Droid 2.2 tethered to Ubuntu 10.04. I can tether it and get good speeds and can surf around with no problem. When I launch Transmission (a bittorrent client) tethering shuts down after a few minutes. It doesn't disconnect but just stops transferring data...web pages won't even load. I have tried to limit the speeds of upload and download but nothing seems to work. I am using the tether option under settings- wi-fi on the Droid. Is there a limit in the droid for data or something like that?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy brother in law turned me on to Pandora this past weekend. I knew about it and even poked around with it a few years ago, but never "got into" it. Having bailed on renewing my satellite radio subscription recently, I thought it time to check out Pandora. He taught me the ropes and we set up 2 channels to drive home with. Fire it up, worked fine. Turned on the Satellite Layer in maps to show him his neighborhood in a live GPS route - almost immediately Pandora crapped out on us. I presumed it was a bandwidth issue with loading satellite imagery as well as streaming audio. Had to kill the app and restart. On our way back home however, it died again - working fine, fired up another app - one that saves my track logs to a file for later examination. As soon as this app started, Pandora stopped. OK, Pandora needs a clear pallate, whatever, for now, we'll give it to her. Fired it up now a 3rd time - it ran like a champ - playing a new mix much better than what we used to get on XM Radio. Love it, wish I used it earlier. However, it stopped dead in its tracks right about 30 minutes after we started it. Had to go into App Manager and "kill" the Pandora app, then re-start it manually. It ran this 4th time for again, right about 30 minutes. Fired up again and thankfull we were only 20 mins from home, were able to listen to it into the garage.

A strange i'm having is that after the sync is over, the Android still shows the sync icon (the one with the rounded arrow) in the account activity, and that someone (i guess its the account manager) repeatedly calls the sync again and again, every 30 to 60 seconds. Now i tried all sort of things to test this issue and i have discovered something strange. In my code, i do resolver.applyBatch every 50 new rows. (each new contact i sync has about 5 rows). If i remove the applyBatch (which means i retrieve the data from the next, sort it and prepare it, but never "commit" it) - the problem goes away. The icon disappear and the account manager never calls it again on its own (I'm using Android 2.1). I must also state that no exception is being thrown in any of the cases and that all the methods finish gracefully.

So, I could tell it to alert me when I reach 800 minutes (or when I have 100 remianing)? I use the MyVerizon app, but would like a way to set an alert in case I forget to check and get close to my minutes.
