I am running 2.3.15 Revolution R2 ROM.I am receiving double Handcent messages AND notifications. I disabled stock notifications and tried disabling auto-receive (or whatever it's called).Uninstalled, reinstalled, deleted data, etc. Nothing has worked.

When I receive text messages they are coming in both the OEM messaging app as well as the HandScent app. I have Handscent set as my default messaging app but I still get the notifications in both apps. I have Droid1, rooted using HandScent for texting. How do I stop messages from going into the OEM messaging app?

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I was using my the handcent sms app on my Droid today and all a sudden the person i was sending messages to was receiving the messages 3 times. Then all a sudden when i went back to text someone else my whole thread was gone and all my messages had been deleted. Then I try using the stock messaging app and obviously all my threads are deleted but messages send twice, any suggestions?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI tried the steps above, and it didn't work. I then compared it to the steps on the other link, and there it says to do mtdblock4, not mtdblock3
So I typed mtdblock4 instead, and I rebooted from the adb shell in the computer.
The boot animation went fine, and then when I got to my homescreen, I freaked out!
It is all black. Instead of the unlock button, there is a green button with an airplane symbol on it. It says NO SERVICE.
The bar IS transparent, but it has these weird symbols on it, not the normal ones.
AND, to make it worse, EVERYTHING is force closing. I'm getting messages after messages of force closing. NOTHING works.
I can't even pull down the notification bar to get mount my sdcard in order to delete the .apk file from there. All these stupid force close messages keep propping up.
Also, it says that the date is Wednesday, December 31 (the 31 is a thursday, though), and it has a time of 6 hours from now.
NOW,
I am actually still in debugging mode, and I still have access to adb shell.
IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO? I'M FREAKING OUT HERE!
(Why oh why did I have to root my beautiful Droid! I think I killed it!)
Just got the Incredible. How do I move Handcent to my front page and to replace Messages? Also, how do I turn Messages notifications off?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have done a battery pull, as well as restarted, and rechecked the boxes for repeat sound notifications for my text messages. The repeat sound is set at every 2 minutes. I do receive the original sound notification, but, I never get the subsequent notices. Verizon is at a loss...gee imagine that...But, at the same time, the Haptic (vibrating touch) randomly unchecks it's box and I lose that function about every 2-3 days also.

I'm getting texts and that's it. Gmail isn't working with new emails also not getting facebook. Went home last night and to my surprise when i checked via my computer i had a few emails and facebook messages that never came through on my phone. I tried a test email again this morning and again nothing. Im using launcher pro plus not rooted and on 2.1. I'm running the custom rom listed below. previously i had "missed call" which had been giving me duplicate sms notifications (with local notifications off), i then uninstalled that along with the sms, mms apps which I replaced with handcent, which also has custom led notifications for sms.
Now I have two things going on, one- there is a little sms icon, just like the one from missed call, sans the red # mark, that always stays in notification area, and when i pull down not. menu it reads 0 sms. So, why is it there? Is it part of Handcent? Handcent uses the icon I picked from it's menu, which is different than what's in the not. bar.
two- still getting 2 sms not. ringtones, first one is default, i think, second one is one I selected, just one new notification though, which is the one I picked.
Now, I still have a ringtone under main settings>notification ringtones, which I assumed I would need for emails, but may hap that is cause of dual ringtones for sms messages, as I have one selected in handcent. ok just got a brainstorm, disable not. ringtone in handcent, but leave custom led, then leave ringtone in settings menu, which should alert for both. I would like to have different ringtones though, for text and email, but missed call was giving me issues, like dual notifications, not audible, but in bar, one i would always have to clear which became annoying. Also, I really like the custom led's, but when there is more than one alert, it just defaults to green, instead of displaying one color, then another.
side question- is there a way, or an app, to make separate ringtones for sms and email? yeah, missed call, i know about that one already, if someone was able to troubleshoot similar prob (dual notifications, with droid one OFF), then I would gladly listen, I used it fine before, maybe it has something to do with the rom I'm using, everything else works perfect with it though.
Anyone figure out how to get the droid to vibrate on notifications?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just got a new Droid a few days ago because I was sick of my Blackberry. I set up my Yahoo email account, but I haven't been getting any notifications. I rebooted it and got a notification a few minutes later, but out of the 10 or so emails I've gotten in that account over the past two days, that's the only notification I've gotten even though I got several emails other than that one after I rebooted. I have it set to check every 30 minutes but half the time when I go to the account, I have to refresh before I see any new emails, even ones that came hours before. I also have it set to show notifications in the status bar and vibrate when notified. What can I do other than rebooting again to get email notifications? Should I look for a Yahoo app rather than using the stock email app? Should I just try to forward it all to my gmail account so it will actually work? I'm completely new to Android, and coming from a Blackberry, this email issue is really bugging me.

Has anyone ever felt their phone vibrate in their pocket only to power on the screen to find out it didnt really go off (phantom vibration). Well for me, its now the LEDs. For most of the day, the droid sits on my desk and i'll look at it every now and again to see if the light is blinking to see if i have an unread message. Every now and again i'll see it blink when there are no new notifications, and its making me feel crazy. anyone else get this at all?

View 6 Replies View RelatedOk, so I have LauncherPro and I tried Handcent and chompsms, both messaging apps I got 2 text message notifications for 1 message. I have searched and learned I need to turn my notifications in settings off. But I can't figure out how to do that. People say go to setting>notifications>and turn it off. But when I go to >setting, then there is no >notifications option. The only notifications setting I can find is under >sound>notification ringtone, but not an option to turn it off or on.
