View 4 RepliesI have my phone connected to my companies exchange server through touchdown. I would like to disable the notification sound and vibrate for new emails. I get a ton of emails and my phone is buzzing non stop. I turned my notification sound level down but that also stops text notification I would still like to hear those.
Is there a way to stop just email notifications?
Ive lost my vibrate on SMS and email notifications. Can NOT get anything to trigger them. uninstalled and rebooted after removing my "ringer mode" widget, but that hasnt helped. rebooted multiple times through the day after doing a factory reset then installing all my apps. (to get the battery manager to stop FCing)
thats when i noticed gmail notifier wasnt vibrating my phone on emails. later I noticed it wasnt just email
anyone know what might be causing it? OTA 2.2 X. yes i checked gmail, sounds, handcent, gmail notifier, sms popup, all are set to vibrate. all do nothing (play sound and notifications show up ok, just no vibrate)
Calls will vibrate though.
I always like ot have my sms vibrate and my phone calls vibrate, never make noises. How do I make different vibrates for my sms notifications and incoming calls?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Droid X with the OTA 2.2 rooted and when I put the phone in Vibrate the phone will not vibrate at all not for phone calls, text, or email? I have "MINI INFO WIDGET" and when I go in there to adjust the volume to vibrate it will work but then when I try to go back to Sound Profile I have to manually adjust the sound again? I have Vibrate Widget and when that is selected it goes to silent only. I tried Uninstalling MINI INFO and VIBRATE WIDGET but I still have the same result sooo it can't be the programs.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIm not getting any vibrate on my incoming emails or notifications, I went into both email and messages settings and selected vibrate and still nothing. I cant believe this phone cant vibrate and ring or vibrate and sound at the same time with incoming calls, messages,or emails like my blackberry pearl and many other phones I've used. Ultimately I want both vibrate and sound on everything, am I missing something here?
View 7 Replies View RelatedWhen I bought this phone it would give me a little double vibrate and make a noise when I got a text. I didn't mess with any settings and 3 weeks into the EVO it stops and I can't get it to vibrate when I get a text. I've turned every vibrate setting on and off and it still won't vibrate for a text. It still does for a phone call though.....its annoying cuz I don't like to have volume loud and I miss texts. Anyone have this issue? Am I going to need a new EVO?
View 4 Replies View RelatedAs much as i like being notified everytime i have a new email or tweet i'd rather not have my phone vibrate every time this happens, especially cos it does so at night... does anyone know how i turn this off?
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe vibrate for my notifications keeps turning off by itself. I downloaded sound manager and using this app I can turn it back on, but a little while later it is already turned off again.
I'm thinking it must be an app turning it off, but I have gone through each one and can't for the life of me figure out what is causing this.
I did a hard reset after 2.2 and it went away for a few days but now its happening again.
I love my Incredible. One thing I can't seem to figure out is how to have my phone in vibrate and be able to know when I receive an SMS or email message. I was reading up on the Moto Droid and nexus one forums but the fixes they had (outside of just using an entirely different app for SMS) didn't seem to apply to the incredible. I set it to vibrate but it only seems to vibrate when it rings, not when it's set solely to vibrate.
So I ask, is it possible to receive a vibrate notification of an SMS or email when the phone is in vibrate mode? If I'm at a movie or something, I like knowing if I got a message.
I'm not sure when this started happening or if it ever even worked, but my vibrate notifications do not work for text messages or email (i'm using K-9). I've gone through EVERY possible setting, in the messaging app, in K-9, and the standard phone settings, to ensure that Vibrate Notification is indeed on, and yet it does not work. It doesn't matter if my phone is on Vibrate Mode, Silent Mode, or Normal Mode, no vibration notifications.
I've tried restarting the phone, nothing works.
My Haptic Feedback works perfectly.
My phone doesn't vibrate anymore whenever I receive a text. It is set up to vibrate, but still nothing. I thought it was a problem with Handcent app, but I removed that app, and was still not vibrating.
View 5 Replies View RelatedLove my Incredible but one glaring issue I'm having I'm hoping to resolve here. At work I am in tons of meetings and conference calls and having a ring tone blast out isn't accepted too well So when I get to work I turn my ringtone volume down to VIBRATE and when I get a call, since I have my phone bare in my pocket, it vibrates and I never miss a call.
But as soon as I change to VIBRATE MODE, all the stuff for NOTIFICATION SOUND under SETTINGS is grayed out. If I go under MESSAGES and SETTINGS, the check box is checked for PLAY NOTIFICATION SOUND and VIBRATE.
I just tested this several times and with the phone in saver mode (screen timed out and is blank), I get ABSOLUTELY NOTHING when I get a text message. No vibrate, buzz, blip or anything. If I call my phone it vibrates for the incoming call fine. BUt for a text message... NOTHING!
Since I *HAVE* to use VIBRATE MODE at work, how can I get the phone to notify me when I get a text message? Kind of important to me as an out of state relative was trying to text me information about my mother's surgery and I was not getting any notification on my phone.
I wasn't sure where to post this so I figured I'd just throw it in the general forum and see how it went. Does anyone else get kind of irritated by the way you have to set the volume/vibrate setting for notifications? I want ONE control that will put the entire phone on either silent, vibrate or ring. For some reason I can't choose a master sound profile, I have choices for each individual messaging app.. I really just don't get it, I'm almost dumbfounded by how insanely involved it is to just get a vibrate notification or none at all. Granted I have had and INC since the week it launched and love this phone, I just don't get it. Am I missing something? I put my phone on VIBRATE and NOTHING VIBRATES unless in the program's settings I have vibrate checked, which means it will vibrate all the time, in vibrate mode, silent, doesn't matter. Is there any way to make it so whatever setting I have my phone volume set too or what i would consider to be the "master" volume is what my notifications will do? I realize this is a bit of a rant but I'm kind of flustered over this. I don't understand why the volume control doesn't just control everything collectively. A good example would be, if my phone is on vibrate and someone tries to TikL me... I don't want the sound to come through, which it did while I was in a meeting... not good. Are all android OS phones like this or just HTC? (I will try and explain myself better and maybe edit this post, i just needed to blow off some steam because I feel this is a rube golberg way of setting sound profiles..
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo one thing I'm not a big fan of is the vibration settings. Is there any way that I can get it to have longer vibrations or more than the two short pulses? I miss a lot of the notifications when my phone is set to vibrate (yes, vibration mode is necessary while I'm in class). My BlackBerry gave me the option to have short, medium, long vibrates, and how many.

View 2 Replies View RelatedHTC Hero - no sound or vibrate for text notifications I have had my Hero for about a week (first Droid!). I am no longer getting sound or vibrate text notifications. I get sound for email notifications, but no vibrate. The LED indicator is working fine. I don't really care about the email notifications, but I need the sound and vibrate for texts! I have checked the forums and found several threads where downloading Sound Manager resolved the issue. It didn't work for me. I have also checked Settings> Sound & Display > Notification Sound. There is a tone selected. I tried a battery pull as well.
View 4 Replies View Relatedanyone know how to edit the type of vibrate associated with notifications? for instance for emails it uses the notification ringtone, but only has an option to vibrate and it uses the long vibrate. i want to change the vibrate to just a short one. i was able to do this on my hero. i just cant find the option anywhere.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there a simple way to enable / disable vibrate for the phone / notifications? I tried using the volume rocker, going to vibrate there. That works for the ringers, but not notifications. I mainly want to set / unset vibrate for gmail and Google Voice. I have tried various 3rd party apps like Volume Control / Audio Manager, but nothing seems to work consistently.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was able to change to a vibrate profile very quickly, which simply put the whole phone, both calls and messages in a vibrate mode. On the Droid X, the only way that I've found to do this is to turn the ringer volumn all the way down and then go one more step and it turns it to vibrate. Is this correct? I mean, is there an easier way. I was hoping for a widget or something that I can just hit and it would put it in vibrate quickly and then hit it again to return to where I was before.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI just joined the Droid Family and Im having problems with vibrate mode. If I set it to vibrate, It does not vibrate for sms messages. Any ideas as to how I can get it to vibrate for SMS's?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy text messages have stopped vibrating when I get them. All the settings are correct and I have uninstalled anything that would change the settings!
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo for some reason my vibrate will no longer work on texts (haven't got any calls yet should probably try it). A couple of my buddies are having problems with theirs not vibrating too however I did just root and they're running on stock stuff (one just dropped his on his driveway though so he thinks that's the reason).
Is it do to rooting or is it happening to anyone else?
I am new to Android and I'm just curious how I make my Droid X vibrate when I get texts. When I put it in vibrate mode it just vibrates on calls but not texts. Do I need an app for this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm sure there is a way to do this, I just haven't messed around enough, I guess. Whenever I put my phone on "vibrate", it kicks my phone into silent mode for all other alerts, so I never know when I get text msgs or chats. If I go into the settings and uncheck the Silent Mode, it takes my phone's ringer off of vibrate mode. So.... what I'm looking to have happen is to have my phone on vibrate only, and recieve my other alerts as vibrate as well.
View 10 Replies View RelatedSo, when i put my phone on a Vibrate (using the volume buttons on the side) it just puts it in Silent Mode, but with a vibration icon. it doesn't vibrate for anything. granted it doesn't make a noise so that's not all bad, but it just sits there and flashes its little light...
Cause i mean it is the easiest way for me to just pop it into vibrate mode, but the vibrate doesn't work, and i don't want it completely silent, as i do still want to know when i get something.
The Droid won't vibrate?? Seriously, can we get this crap fixed?? And don't tell me to use Audio Manager, because that doesn't work either. A "smart phone" should have the capability to vibrate!!!
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe vibrate feature for my text and email alerts no longer functions. It is just completely silent (ringer is off, but phone is set to vibrate, not silent). I have the setting for Also Vibrate on Notification checked so my setting are right, it seems. The vibration works for incoming calls, but not my alerts... I did have locale installed which is the only app I can imagine messing with it. I have uninstalled Locale but the problem persists.
