Trying to find the setting that TURNS OFF the "Verizon Wireless" announcement every time I have an incoming call or text. I tried all of the settings, guess I'm not smart enough for my smart phone.

I figured it has been talked about. But how can I get a different notification alert for MMS to SMS? I know how to change Email, Calls, And SMS Combined with MMS.
How can I get MMS and SMS separate?
I'm getting texts and that's it. Gmail isn't working with new emails also not getting facebook. Went home last night and to my surprise when i checked via my computer i had a few emails and facebook messages that never came through on my phone. I tried a test email again this morning and again nothing. Im using launcher pro plus not rooted and on 2.1. Could this be the same reason my facebook and twitter apps aren't refreshing automatically?

I downloaded the patch that Pete Alfonso posted on his website and have flashed it 2 times now and I am still getting the OTA update notifications, anyone have any suggestions on how to make this stop?

I'm running the custom rom listed below. previously i had "missed call" which had been giving me duplicate sms notifications (with local notifications off), i then uninstalled that along with the sms, mms apps which I replaced with handcent, which also has custom led notifications for sms.
Now I have two things going on, one- there is a little sms icon, just like the one from missed call, sans the red # mark, that always stays in notification area, and when i pull down not. menu it reads 0 sms. So, why is it there? Is it part of Handcent? Handcent uses the icon I picked from it's menu, which is different than what's in the not. bar.
two- still getting 2 sms not. ringtones, first one is default, i think, second one is one I selected, just one new notification though, which is the one I picked.
Now, I still have a ringtone under main settings>notification ringtones, which I assumed I would need for emails, but may hap that is cause of dual ringtones for sms messages, as I have one selected in handcent. ok just got a brainstorm, disable not. ringtone in handcent, but leave custom led, then leave ringtone in settings menu, which should alert for both. I would like to have different ringtones though, for text and email, but missed call was giving me issues, like dual notifications, not audible, but in bar, one i would always have to clear which became annoying. Also, I really like the custom led's, but when there is more than one alert, it just defaults to green, instead of displaying one color, then another.
side question- is there a way, or an app, to make separate ringtones for sms and email? yeah, missed call, i know about that one already, if someone was able to troubleshoot similar prob (dual notifications, with droid one OFF), then I would gladly listen, I used it fine before, maybe it has something to do with the rom I'm using, everything else works perfect with it though.
Anyone figure out how to get the droid to vibrate on notifications?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just got a new Droid a few days ago because I was sick of my Blackberry. I set up my Yahoo email account, but I haven't been getting any notifications. I rebooted it and got a notification a few minutes later, but out of the 10 or so emails I've gotten in that account over the past two days, that's the only notification I've gotten even though I got several emails other than that one after I rebooted. I have it set to check every 30 minutes but half the time when I go to the account, I have to refresh before I see any new emails, even ones that came hours before. I also have it set to show notifications in the status bar and vibrate when notified. What can I do other than rebooting again to get email notifications? Should I look for a Yahoo app rather than using the stock email app? Should I just try to forward it all to my gmail account so it will actually work? I'm completely new to Android, and coming from a Blackberry, this email issue is really bugging me.

Has anyone ever felt their phone vibrate in their pocket only to power on the screen to find out it didnt really go off (phantom vibration). Well for me, its now the LEDs. For most of the day, the droid sits on my desk and i'll look at it every now and again to see if the light is blinking to see if i have an unread message. Every now and again i'll see it blink when there are no new notifications, and its making me feel crazy. anyone else get this at all?

View 6 Replies View RelatedOk, so I have LauncherPro and I tried Handcent and chompsms, both messaging apps I got 2 text message notifications for 1 message. I have searched and learned I need to turn my notifications in settings off. But I can't figure out how to do that. People say go to setting>notifications>and turn it off. But when I go to >setting, then there is no >notifications option. The only notifications setting I can find is under >sound>notification ringtone, but not an option to turn it off or on.

Also, I use Handcent SMS, and I can change the color of notification on that, so I have it set to pink (seemed like fun at the time.) I'd love an app that would let me choose the colors of other notification LEDs. Anyone know of one like that? I tried using the Market to search for notification and LED, but didn't find anything.

Today I received the auto-update notice on my device, but I don't want to just go ahead with it and lose root access. So I am hoping someone can tell me how I should handle this. I would like to update, but only if I can keep root access as I have overclocked and run a number of other root-only apps. Here is my device info... I'll try to provide as much as I can. I used the instructions listed HERE to root my device, and HERE to overclock. Also, will it be necessary to wipe all my data to perform this update and re-root? And if it turns out that I am not ready to update right now, is there a way to stop the automatic notifications?

I've looked for an answer to this question but couldn't find one anywhere. I have the Facebook app installed on my Droid and have the settings set to send me notifications for all possible things, but the app itself seems to refuse to update on its own or send me any notifications what-so-ever. Is there anyway to get it to actually refresh on its own and notify me?

View 20 Replies View RelatedI did the manual update to 2.0.1 this morning and just now realized that I wasn't getting any incoming email notifications for Gmail. I sent myself a test message from another account and it did not show up on my droid. i went into accounts and manually synced it and now all is well. So, if you notice this issue after the update, just manually sync your accounts and see if that solves it.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have two accounts configured on my Droid X 2.1 - gmail and a corporate activex account. I get notifications for a new email coming into gmail but nothing in corporate. Under settings - accounts - corporate, I do see calendar, contacts and email are checked to sync. Also under settings -> data mgr, I have data push enabled and the fetch schedule is the minimum 15 minutes.However, if I have push enabled, I expect the email should notify immediately. Right?

It doesn't have an option to "don't remind me again" and after calling Verizon they didn't know how to disable this constant reminder. Since I don't want to update to 2.2 (maybe a few months later) is there any way that I can block or disable this message?

I did not make any changes to the settings and checked them to make sure everything was normal. If I go into gmail and click refresh I get a notification with all the new emails. It used to be instant, as soon as a new email came I would get a notifcation. Now they dont come at all... anyone know whats going on?
View 7 Replies View RelatedLong time crackberry user converted to android. I got my DX on release day, and have been fighting with facebook since. I cannot seem to get any notifications for facebook what so ever. I set up the "Social Networking" app that came on the X out of the box, and that integrated all my FB friends into my contacts which sucks, but anyway, then I downloaded the facebook app for android. I set up all the settings for notifications, and sounds and all that.
But no matter what, I cannot get a facebook notification like I did on my blackberry. Ill get yahoo emails saying so and so commented on your photo, or what not. But nothing else from FB instant. I have to manually go into my facebook app, go to notifications, hit the menu button and select refresh. Last night for some reason I got the little F in the top left notification bar that someone invited me to join an event. But I cant seem to get anything to mimic it again. I've checked HOFO and they suggested I check here.
