The only thing I've been able to find is how to change the default alert. Ideally I'd like one sound for email and another for text messages. It was pretty easy to set this on BB.

I have done a battery pull, as well as restarted, and rechecked the boxes for repeat sound notifications for my text messages. The repeat sound is set at every 2 minutes. I do receive the original sound notification, but, I never get the subsequent notices. Verizon is at a loss...gee imagine that...But, at the same time, the Haptic (vibrating touch) randomly unchecks it's box and I lose that function about every 2-3 days also.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI jut picked up a Samsung Galaxy S3, and I am trying to change my notification sound for text messages. I put an MP3 file in the appropriate folder, and selected it in the settings menu on messaging. It keeps reverting back to the old default message notification sound.
How to get it to believe I want to use a different sound?
Everything was working fine and suddenly the sound and vibrate no longer work. I use hancent and changed the notifications there and on my home screen settings too, what's up?

I seem to receive text messages without problems but sending text messages does not get to certain people. One colleague at work who is on ATT can send me a text but does not receive mine in return. Similar stories for some other contacts of mine and some are on Verizon as well.

View 8 Replies View RelatedOn a Samsung Fascinate (not sure if that is relevant) does anyone know how to make pictures that come in to a text message just show up in the message. I got my first incoming text on this phone with a picture attached. I saw the message and a "play" button. Push the button, goes to a screen 1/2 which just has the text itself (which I have already read at this point in the original bubble), then sits for a few seconds, then finally goes to screen 2/2, pulls up the picture, with no text. If I go back to the original message, the play button is still there and I have to go through it all over again. Any setting/apps anyone knows of to just have the picture come up automatically as part of the text.
I am coming from a Palm Pre and the photo would just be sitting there when I opened the message.
Is there anyway to change the ringer for text messages without rooting? I want to side load with my Mac. Anyone know how? I tried side load wonder machine for Linux and Mac but when I open it, it just opens a window of a bunch of text.

I get sound for email notifications, but no vibrate. The LED indicator is working fine. I don't really care about the email notifications, but I need the sound and vibrate for texts! I have checked the forums and found several threads where downloading Sound Manager resolved the issue. It didn't work for me. I have also checked Settings> Sound & Display > Notification Sound. There is a tone selected. I tried a battery pull as well.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an AT&T Samsung Galaxy SII. I updated to the stock ICS last week, and ever since the update, my text notifications and email notifications will periodically mute themselves. Screen still lights up, notification is still in the notification bar, but no sound.
I've changed the settings to ensure I have them correct several times. I did a master reset as well. Doing a hard reset will fix the issue temporarily, but it always goes back to not working.
I have just recently upgraded my LG G Flex d959, service through t-mobile, to Android 4.4 kitkat. Since I performed the upgrade my device doesn't alert me when I get a text message. Most of the time it does, but every so often it is just like it's on silent.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had this happen to me twice now over the past week. It seems that periodically my notification sounds will stop. I will see that I have new emails but never heard the sound. I will then go send myself a test text message and it will vibrate but make no sound. I've made sure all my volumes are up, and even went in to pick a notification sound and it will work fine in the sound chooser when I pick it.
I also noticed both times that it did this if I go in to Spare Parts or Battery History and look my phone is staying awake and Android Usage is the one with the partial wake lock. Generally I don't have any sleep issues, it only happens when my notification sounds have also quit working. The only way to fix it is power off and back on and then all is good again.
Even with my headphones plugged in the text sound can be heard through the phones speakers. It's annoying how do I turn it off?

EVRC-B allows you to have enhanced voice quality in large metro areas. On the HTC's, you could dial ##PROGRAM, press send, choose EVRC-B and BAM! It made a huge difference for us city folk.ny ideas?

View 4 Replies View RelatedIm newbie android user and so far loving it. I had a blackberry previous to my new fascinate and was happy with it but am way happier with my fascinate. Although, I'm having a problem (maybe it's normal for the droids and this phone) with my email notifications and FB notifications. I have my aol (primary) and yahoo emails on my home page but don't get notified when I have a new email. I have to physically open up the email icon. Is that normal for this phone? or is there a way to have a notification on that top bar (where txt msg notif. are) when I do get and email? Facebook know it's not a necessary thing but I was used to with my BB that I'd get a notification star on my FB icon when I had a new message/notification. Is there a way to have that on my FB here. The only way I know I have any FB notifications is when I physically open my FB icon and see a star on the notification bar at the bottom of my screen. I don't even know if fascinate and FB offer this kind of notification but if it does I'd like so enable it. I'm also having a problem syncing my fb contacts with my phone contacts. I don't know if its because my FB acct is under a different email than the gmail acct you need for the fascinate.
