Aug 3, 2010Is there a way to not have it vibrate with notification sound on incoming texts and have it vibrate when I turn phone to vibrate mode. I cant seem to figure this out, I want it to vibrate when I have vibrate mode on but I want sound only when I have it off of vibrate mode. I know you can go into settings each time but I want to avoid that.

The notification works, and the correct ringtone is used. However, even though the preferences are correctly activated and notification flags are correctly set (I checked by debugging), the notification never vibrates and never cause the lights to be activated. I would have blamed my phone's settings, but every other app using notifications, like messaging, gmail, and others correctly use all these features. (My phone is a HTC Hero with Android 2.1)
General :: No Vibration For Notifications On Phone After Rooting
Jan 17, 2012I rooted my Sidekick 4G yesterday and everything worked great, until I noticed that my phone wasn't vibrating for notification. I tried messing around with the settings but no luck. I get haptic feedback but no notification vibrations.
Additional information:
Rooted with SuperOneClick (latest version, I'm pretty sure).

Jan 4, 2010One little thing I miss on my Blackberry was that I had it set to vibrate once for Social Network notifications, twice for an email and three times for an SMS. That way I knew how important it might be and whether to take it out of my pocket. My T-Mobile G2/HTC Hero (1.5) doesn't seem to have the option to change the default "vibrate twice". Is there any way of changing it? Or an app that might do it?

Oct 27, 2010I have my phone set on multiple short vibrates for txt alerts... and it does that, but for some reason now when i get a txt from my wife its a long vibrate instead of multiple shorts... I still have all the settings on multiple shorts so i dont know WHY it changed just her to a long vibrate and i can figure it out... I have shut my phone off multiple times but it still does it...
I have a droid X ... and I am using handcent. only thing I can think is different is i downloaded "Task Manager" the other day? but it just started this issue today.
I know its very minor but it annoys the hell out of me because I cant figure out how or why to change it. I have even changed the vibration to custom settings and it works on every txt but from my wife...oh i forgot to mention that this morning i downloaded angry birds... and maybe the issue started after that? i went to play angry birds a little bit ago and it wasnt anywhere in my app list for some reason...i couldnt find it anywhere. went to the market and it showed it as being installed, so i uninstalled it and reinstalled it and it then showed up as being back in my app list? beats me why? love this phone but i feel way over my head with this thing. i've had it for 5 days now.

Went home last night and to my surprise when i checked via my computer i had a few emails and facebook messages that never came through on my phone. May 17, 2010I am having issues with sms notifications. I'm running the custom rom listed below. previously i had "missed call" which had been giving me duplicate sms notifications (with local notifications off), i then uninstalled that along with the sms, mms apps which I replaced with handcent, which also has custom led notifications for sms.
Now I have two things going on, one- there is a little sms icon, just like the one from missed call, sans the red # mark, that always stays in notification area, and when i pull down not. menu it reads 0 sms. So, why is it there? Is it part of Handcent? Handcent uses the icon I picked from it's menu, which is different than what's in the not. bar.
two- still getting 2 sms not. ringtones, first one is default, i think, second one is one I selected, just one new notification though, which is the one I picked.
Now, I still have a ringtone under main settings>notification ringtones, which I assumed I would need for emails, but may hap that is cause of dual ringtones for sms messages, as I have one selected in handcent. ok just got a brainstorm, disable not. ringtone in handcent, but leave custom led, then leave ringtone in settings menu, which should alert for both. I would like to have different ringtones though, for text and email, but missed call was giving me issues, like dual notifications, not audible, but in bar, one i would always have to clear which became annoying. Also, I really like the custom led's, but when there is more than one alert, it just defaults to green, instead of displaying one color, then another.
side question- is there a way, or an app, to make separate ringtones for sms and email? yeah, missed call, i know about that one already, if someone was able to troubleshoot similar prob (dual notifications, with droid one OFF), then I would gladly listen, I used it fine before, maybe it has something to do with the rom I'm using, everything else works perfect with it though.
