I am having a constant issue with my DX freezing when I use it, VZW has replaced my battery, done a hard reset, so I guess the next step is a new phone. It was fine until the update and now it freezes when I do only what it is supposed to.

My phone will freeze completely at random. It's happened two times so far. Once in the camera app and the second time on the home screen after I tried turning the screen off. I am using the most recent version of Cyanogen. It just does not work, at all. No input on the screen or the buttons. I have had to remove the battery both times. Is this a bug or something else. The home screen blacks out but the status bar is still seen. This happens at random too and it reappears whenever it wants to.
View 20 Replies View RelatedI am using a Motorola Droid 1 and have run into a problem. My phone is constantly roaming (the little triangle in the status bar is visible) and I cannot program or activate my phone.
This started after this process:
My phone was rooted, Stock 2.2 with superuser (via clockwork) I accidentally applied the OTA Adobe flash update and became unrooted. I attempted to flash a rooted 2.2 with adobe with RSD Lite and loaded the newest baseband
My phone began not working at this point. I get this message when I try to activate via *228 or *22899: "The number or code you have entered is incorrect"......"Message 7 Switch 441"
I tried manually programming via ##PROGRAM, but to no avail.
I have flashed back to 2.0.1, 2.1, 2.2 every version of baseband I could find, but I still am roaming. Under phone status, my network is "Unknown"
Finally, here is what I have right now:

I talked to a verizon tech support guy and he got me as far as being able to make calls on my "unknown" network and roaming status. He thought that he fixed it after that, so I just gave up on that conversation....
I received the OTA 2.1 update last night and now I have a sync icon in the top bar that will not go away. Is there some intense syncing to be done after the update?

It only ever gets to the silver htc on the black screen then it goes completely black and then goes back to the red smear for verison and the little droids then over again. I've already taken out the battery and tried again but no help.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMany times it seems I will get notification that an app (such as chompsms or twidroyd) has updates just a day or two after I just updated that app because I rec'd a notification. I know you can check the version number and some apps even tell you what is being updated, but I never know what the latest build number is anyway so I always just push update anyway. So, I guess my question is, when I receive these notifications on consecutive days like that are they really just the same update and does it hurt to dl the update if you already have?

Had a couple issues that wouldn't have got through without him, and he also explained a lot of the terminology for me! Now pulling high 1500 quadrant scores. Time to get to freezing apps, and all the other rootie goodness!
View 21 Replies View RelatedI am running Nexbeast 1.1 fabs release clocked at 1.25ghz and I've dropped my phone maybe 4-5 times. None of them were big falls but the 3rd or 4th time I dropped it and all the times after that it has turned off. Anyways, whenever I do something for an extended period of time on my phone It freezes up. Seriously even if I'm only on it for 10 minutes. I can't do much without having this problem at least 1-2 times a day. Is their any fix to this? I don't recall it doing this on 2.1 builds. Could that be it?

View 1 Replies View RelatedEver since the 2.2 update, or downgrade as I now call it, my phone has been freezing nonstop. I have no clue what's going on. I have very few apps. The only reason I got this phone was because I'd thought it would be better than my old Samsung Instinct, which also constantly experienced freezes.
Here's an in depth look:
Press top button, slide down to unlock but no response.
Home screen, will not respond to touch.
Placing a call to someone, and before they answer, another call will come in completely freezing my phone, hard reset required.
The only reason I switched from the instinct is because I was sick of the freezes. And this phone hadn't done it before the update. Now, since my 30 day return is over, and the update came after the 30 grace period, I'm stuck with this POS phone.
Do you guys have any clue about this?
If not, looks like I'm switching from sprint after my 12 year run with them.
My Droid keeps freezing then automatically closes applications... especially when I'm doing something online. And if it doesn't end up closing out then there's a bad delay. I just got it and i dont have many apps. Any ideas as to why or what I can do to fix it?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSeems to be getting more frequent. At first it was just freezing and would sometimes return to a usable state while I was listening to music. In the past couple of days it has begun freezing completely when using gtalk or other messaging applications when I would go to enter text. Voice to Text hangs and then force close, but everything else freezes up. I hold down the power button and feel the vibration when the screen to choose what option comes up, but nothing on the screen changes. A minute later, it reboots. I haven't had to do a battery pull yet.
Droid is rooted and I have removed maybe 3 apps... I can't pinpoint an installation of something that maybe caused this to start. Anyone with similar issues? Any fix? Should I just try and swap it out? I have the newest update...
Would you say it's a huge hassle to get back all of your apps after flashing? Im just curious to see what methods people use to shortcut their way back to the way they like their phones most. I would assume tibku would be your best friend here. But are there people out there who get a kick out of un/reinstalling all the time? I just wanna know how people do their thing with the SBF.

Now, it wont start up, it just starts and a constant red light turns on (same as when battery is low, but constant) It shows the battery empty but it wont let me charge it, so i dont know what to do..

Now I am a former bb curve user and I decided on the droid instead of the. Storm 2 and I love my droid. Anyways I have no idea if it is user error or if I should return this droid and get a new one ? View 4 Replies View RelatedThis morning I had a system update waiting for my on my G1.... It took quite some time to download just like the last update (Cupcake).. now I am having problems loading my phone.
I have the aHome application installed and I use that as my primary operating system (if you can call it that).
Now when my phone restarted after the update downloaded, it keeps giving me errors such as:
"The application aHome (process mobi.bbase.ahome) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
The application Messaging (process mobi.bbase.ahome) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
These errors repeatedly pop up and will not let any of my desktop load up or will it let me get into the system settings menu.
What should I do?! I've spent too much time customizing my phone for this friggin' update to just come along and destroy it all...

View 1 Replies View RelatedI saw a thread where a user removed several apps after rooting the droid x and then successfully did a factory reset. I proceeded to remove the same apps using Titanium Backup. Before doing so, I saved the whole system/apps folder to the sd card in case i wanted to reinstall any later. I figured the reason these apps were installed in the system folder is so users couldn't touch them (assuming they weren't rooted). So just as a test, I tried reinstalling CityID using Root Explorer, and it installed it in the data/app folder (which uses the 8GB of internal memory). 1.) Can we effectively uninstall all the apps from the system folder and then reinstall them manually onto the 8GB of internal memory using root explorer, so we are no longer using our RAM space? 2.) Anyone feel brave enough to try doing this with a factory reset to see what happens? 3.) Another question I've seen asked and not answered is whether 'freezing' an application with Titanium will cause any harm with a factory reset (for something with a known issue like Backup Assistant), or would the app be re-enabled since the factory reset would blow away Titanium?
View 2 Replies View RelatedRecently when I use the stock/default music player, when I try to pause or stop it, it keeps playing. If I press the hard home key, it will go to the home screen but the music will keep playing even if I press pause. If I am still in the music player app and press the back button, it goes to a black screen and keeps playing. Today I tried to shut down my phone to get it to stop and it kept playing for a couple minutes and took much longer than usual for the phone to shut down.
Do I just have to use a different music player? Is the default one really buggy or something? Not sure if it has anything to do with it but I only noticed it after I updated to 2.2.
All of a sudden my notify light displays a constant blue light when the phone is put to sleep. I've uninstalled Chomp and I do not have any social networking apps installed nor do I have accounts synced to the phone. All messages on my phone have been read.

View 7 Replies View RelatedBuddy told me to put kangerade and chevy lv 1.2ghz on it. I'm not new to the root game and i've done it to a few eris phones. I got everything installed correctly two days ago but yesterday and today, the phone seems to soft boot every now and again for no particular reason. It doesn't go all the way to the mas a hard boot would, but it goes to the droid logo and reboots from there. I'm running the newest version of Kangerade with chevy 1.2ghz low voltage kernel.

I edited .png files in framework-res.apk; the sdcard preparing icon and also the usb connected icon.
I used this method:
Use terminal, since ADB doesn't work.
su
cp system/framework/framework-res.apk /sdcard
(edit files on your computer opening the framework as an archive using 7zip. put the file on the sd card)
assuming that you aren't in SU anymore..
su
cp /sdcard/framework-res.apk system/framework
chmod 644 system/framework/framework-res.apk
sync
reboot

They are not the .9 png files, and the icons changed without problem, but immediately after a reboot almost every program on my phone is force closing.
After Updating an X10i phone is going through a constant boot/reboot @ sony ericsson logo so i thought i should try a recovery, took battery out as phone wouldn't turn off,reinserted battery,plugged usb into PC and held Back button then inserted usb to phone , got Large battery Image with Flash going through it.Asked or software update and picked repair,Goes through Prepairing then shows list of phones , i pick X10 of course and it asked me to disconect phone fromPC, all the usual steps to do recovery again
View 8 Replies View RelatedI just updated to the new version through Kies. As soon as my phone booted and I exited lock screen, a lot of popups of processes that crashed show up. This includes android.process.acore, com.google.processes.gapps, Daily Briefing, calendar... pretty much everything shows up and I don't have access to anything on the phone. Apparently usb debug got back on so I can't get kies to recognize the phone.
I have a contract-free galaxy s from germany. Rooted. Uninstalled ryans lag fix through market before upgrading. I don't know what I did wrong. What can I do?
I just got a google apps account at work and added that email to my phone and now my battery drains fast and Google is the culprit according to battery status.Also seems like the sync wheel is on all the time at top of screen.
