Since the update my Eris has been in a constant loop of trying to power on. It only ever gets to the silver htc on the black screen then it goes completely black and then goes back to the red smear for verison and the little droids then over again. I've already taken out the battery and tried again but no help.

Many times it seems I will get notification that an app (such as chompsms or twidroyd) has updates just a day or two after I just updated that app because I rec'd a notification. I know you can check the version number and some apps even tell you what is being updated, but I never know what the latest build number is anyway so I always just push update anyway. So, I guess my question is, when I receive these notifications on consecutive days like that are they really just the same update and does it hurt to dl the update if you already have?
View 8 Replies View RelatedThis is my first problem with my EVO, so I'm not sure if it's been addressed. When I enable wifi I see:
- "Obtaining address..."
- "Remembered, secured with WEP"
Then repeats this process over and over, and the phone heats up quite a bit. I installed the most recent update, and am waiting for Froyo. Is this something that's been solved with 2.2, or is it another issue?

And I have the Modaco mod, and I know it said there was a chance it could go wrong. But I tried nandroid restore and it didn't work, now I'm still in a boot loop, what should I do?
Every time I flash a different Kernel my Evo goes into a boot loop. I am using RA-Recovery, and wiping Data/cahe and dalvik before flashing. I flashed a new ROM and was able to install Kernel one time, any more than that and the Boot loop starts, even if i flash the first kernel that did work it still loops on me. I was on Clockwork and changed over to RA, that did not help, tried both BFS and CFS and no change. Tried Kingx 8 and 9, netarchys 4.18 and 4.19. I flashed 3.28.651.1 then netarchy's 4.1.9 and it started the BL, then reflashed 3.28 and tried kingx 9 and it worked, I'm beginning to wonder if there is something with netarchy's kernels that my Evo doesnt care for? I should add that this time when wiping i only wiped cache and dalvik and left the data alone. I suppose the only real way to find the culprit is to test out all the variables.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI bought my phone 3 months ago and I had no problem with it "except the usual low in-call volume and battery life" but then I went on and I updated to R2BA026 firmware. First I did it OTA and the phone started restarting by itself and entering into constant restart loops. So I though it was a defective update and reupdated the device through SEUS to the same version but the problem is still there. The only way to get the device out of the restart loop is to take out the battery for few minutes and then put it back and start it, it works fine for a day or two and then it does the same thing and the problem appears again. I tried removing all applications and removing the memory card but the problem still appears and there is nothing I can do about.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using a Motorola Droid 1 and have run into a problem. My phone is constantly roaming (the little triangle in the status bar is visible) and I cannot program or activate my phone.
This started after this process:
My phone was rooted, Stock 2.2 with superuser (via clockwork) I accidentally applied the OTA Adobe flash update and became unrooted. I attempted to flash a rooted 2.2 with adobe with RSD Lite and loaded the newest baseband
My phone began not working at this point. I get this message when I try to activate via *228 or *22899: "The number or code you have entered is incorrect"......"Message 7 Switch 441"
I tried manually programming via ##PROGRAM, but to no avail.
I have flashed back to 2.0.1, 2.1, 2.2 every version of baseband I could find, but I still am roaming. Under phone status, my network is "Unknown"
Finally, here is what I have right now:

I talked to a verizon tech support guy and he got me as far as being able to make calls on my "unknown" network and roaming status. He thought that he fixed it after that, so I just gave up on that conversation....
I received the OTA 2.1 update last night and now I have a sync icon in the top bar that will not go away. Is there some intense syncing to be done after the update?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI don't have a droid eris, i have a my touch 3g with a ported 2.1 Eris rom. As far as I know the changes are minimal so hopefully you guys can help me. In a nutshell, the phone is constantly syncing with something. It still happens when I Taskill mostly everything, and i tried to use Droidwall to work out what it was but my results were a bit stuffy, i couldn't accurately determine what it was. Facebook perhaps? i have it set to sync every 8 hours. So basically what iam asking is does anyone know what it could be and how I may sort it out? Failing that, does anyone know of an app that will tell me exactly what's using the connection at the time?

In applications, manage applications, I've uninstalled it but it's still there saying installing. What do I do now? I don't want to do a factory reset. Had to do it once and that was enough.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've kind of made a similar post about this before. I keep having this issue where ill be txting someone and all of a sudden ill get constant force closes on my messaging app followed by it then losing all my threaded txts.
I'm using the native app with sms pop up and a sms widget that just makes my icon look like the eclair version.
I also sometimes have an issue where ill be txting, get a force close error and it will delete whatever txt I just received without being able to read it...
I updated to BB 0.4 from a previous old 2.2 installation. Now I'm stuck in an endless reboot loop! It alternates between Droid and the red Droid eye!
1) I copied update.zip to the root of the drive.
2) I installed update.zip
3) Install was successful
4) Rebooted
, i followed the directions for updating the droid to 2.1. Now stuck in a boot loop. The firmware updated fine and didn't indicate a failure, after i updated i did the reboot from the menu. I've reflashed 2-3 times now and it does not come back, and i've pulled the battery more than a few times.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI upgraded to the new beta of swype and since then have found one minor issue. when i try to loop on a letter to do a double letter like the t in the word letter, i have difficulty doing so. I have to make a very large loop that only crosses over the letter, rather than looping on top of it like i used to be able to do. i'm not sure if this is just something to do with a setting that got changed or if it is a bigger issue.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI just updated to the new version through Kies. As soon as my phone booted and I exited lock screen, a lot of popups of processes that crashed show up. This includes android.process.acore, com.google.processes.gapps, Daily Briefing, calendar... pretty much everything shows up and I don't have access to anything on the phone. Apparently usb debug got back on so I can't get kies to recognize the phone.
I have a contract-free galaxy s from germany. Rooted. Uninstalled ryans lag fix through market before upgrading. I don't know what I did wrong. What can I do?
My Samsung Stratosphere turned itself off sometime and now is rebooting to the Samsung logo, and then turning back off, and rebooting (a couple times earlier it booted to the main android menu, but turned back off immediately afterwards) and when I plugged it into the charger it acts like it's charging and then turns off and acts like it's charging and over and over again, even when the battery indicates that it's at more than half full.
(No custom ROMs or anything, it's all standard btw). I took the battery out and everything and it still does the same thing when I put it back. I tried to do a factory reset, but the recovery mode screen always jumps away when I try to activate it (I press both Vol+ and Vol-, recovery mode screen comes up but goes instantly, then the phone goes into a boot loop again).
Is there a way to boot into my Eris Safe Mode? When trying to turn on my phone last night, I get a force close pop up telling me aHome has stopped working, "Sorry". I've been searching since midnight for a way to start Safe Mode, or a step by step of what to do in recovery mode. I have a stock Eris on 2.1 OTA, 1.47 bootloader, and I do NOT have root. Is a Factory Reset my only alternative?

I rooted my managers phone and gave her 0.5.3 back when it was the standard fresh rom. Well last night she used fresh updater I believe to go to 3.1.0.2, which I know requires a wipe but she isn't exactly savvy on all of this. In any event, after the update the phone does not load the launcher. Upon unlocking the phone it is stuck in the com.htc.launcher has stopped unexpectedly. And after force close it loops this error. I can only see the lock screen or access the phone's SD card from my PC, I can change options such as "charge only" "disk drive" "usb debugging" but that's about it. Other than that I can get to Amon Ra recovery.What are my options for helping her out with this?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI did the offical Froyo update on my phone this afternoon. It was stock with the latest OTA update 1.47. Followed the directions for the update and it went by smoothly until after I tried setting up my phone (Google account). I did a hard reset and everything was fine until a few minutes ago. I was able to sign into my Google, Facebook and Aim accounts. It is now back to an endless loop of trying to load Sense and force closing. Of course I can do another hard rest but is it too early to assume the force close loop problem will return? My phone is not functioning and I cannot even go into the setting to turn of Sense.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI had my Galaxy Pocket rooted and got the Jellyblast v3 rom, it was doin fine until I checked on the app OTA and check for update, a new update appeared which is the Nemesis 2.5 Hybrid-Holo Editon. It asked me to download it and so I did. When it was done, it asked me if I wanted to install it and so I did, and rebooted. Later I noticed that it was already boot looping. I tried pulling the battery off and to clockwork mode, with the proper procedure..the holds and presses, but still it just kept boot looping. Tried to connect it to the PC using the USB chord and yet it just shows the charging icon and sooner it turns to white. I tried Kies but still it turned white screen all over again; no device found.
View 8 Replies View RelatedYesterday I clicked the update button on my droid, and now my droid is dead, all that appears is the motorola logo, even after pulling the battery. Of course technical support at Verizon has no clue what is wrong. The phone will not even turn off unless i take the battery out, the motorola logo shows until the phone goes dead.
As this is my second droid, I don't know that I want a 3rd one. My opinion is that the droid would be a neat smartphone-- if it worked. I doubt that anyone could ever consider using the droid as a business phone, since it randomly quits working. I've had many cell phones and blackberries and never had to return any of them.
I have the best buy protection plan, but not sure that entitles me to a new or different phone, since my droid is about 3 months old.
Not sure this has happened to anyone else but ever since the Andoid update, my pots and pans have started to turn green.

All appeared to go well and successful, past the point where I heard other people's got stuck.But when I slide down the slider and put in my password, it gets stuck in a force close loop for com.htc.launcher. Seems to not be able to open sense and keeps looping round.I saw a post from someone saying they had that problem, but then they just hit the search button and got the quicksearch, went to settings, then cleared the data for the appropriate application and then it worked fine.But when I hit the search button, nothing happens. If I hold it down, I get the google voice search, but I can't seem to get to settings from there.Does anyone know another method to get into settings as I'm hopeful this will fix my problem as suggested by some others. I'd much rather that than take it back to O2.
