I'm rooted and I have a lot of app updates, but I'm getting constant fcs from the app market to update. Is it a root issue or a google/android issue ? I got a droid by the way.

I'm running the 2.1 leak and so far it has been flawless. My battery life has improved, however today something odd is happening. I am getting constant updates from my gmail saying I have a new email, when my inbox is the same. Do I need to reflash? I'm using one of the original patched versions.

It will only show one app in the start up screen and when I go to the download folder it says it is empty. I just used the market earlier today and it worked fine anyone else having this problem?
View 5 Replies View RelatedIs anyone else getting what appears to be duplicate update notifications in the market?This has been happening to me for the last 2 days for Astro File Manager, and Panda Home.I have the latest versions installed.Yet the market tells me there's an update available.When I look at the version number of the update, it's the same as what I have and when I install it, the version numbers wind up being the same.Is this really an issue, or are the authors really throwing new apk's up there with the same version number? Or is there some 'minor' version number they're updating that isn't visible to me, and there really are small tweaks in the update?Curious if anyone has seen multiple updates for these in the last few days, and whether anyone knows what's really going on.

Im just curious to see what methods people use to shortcut their way back to the way they like their phones most. I would assume tibku would be your best friend here. But are there people out there who get a kick out of un/reinstalling all the time? I just wanna know how people do their thing with the SBF.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using a Motorola Droid 1 and have run into a problem. My phone is constantly roaming (the little triangle in the status bar is visible) and I cannot program or activate my phone.
This started after this process:
My phone was rooted, Stock 2.2 with superuser (via clockwork) I accidentally applied the OTA Adobe flash update and became unrooted. I attempted to flash a rooted 2.2 with adobe with RSD Lite and loaded the newest baseband
My phone began not working at this point. I get this message when I try to activate via *228 or *22899: "The number or code you have entered is incorrect"......"Message 7 Switch 441"
I tried manually programming via ##PROGRAM, but to no avail.
I have flashed back to 2.0.1, 2.1, 2.2 every version of baseband I could find, but I still am roaming. Under phone status, my network is "Unknown"
Finally, here is what I have right now:
Model number: Droid
Firmware version: 2.1-update1
Baseband version: C_01.3E.03P
Kernel version: 2.6.29-omap-g7fa8788android-build@apa26 #1
Build Number: ESE81
I talked to a verizon tech support guy and he got me as far as being able to make calls on my "unknown" network and roaming status. He thought that he fixed it after that, so I just gave up on that conversation....
I recently rooted my droid, and wanted to increase my phone's speed... so i installed "ChevyNo1-1.25Ghz-OC-5slot-update.zip" via 'ROM Manager. Now, it wont start up, it just starts and a constant red light turns on (same as when battery is low, but constant) It shows the battery empty but it wont let me charge it, so i dont know what to do..

Now I am a former bb curve user and I decided on the droid instead of the. Storm 2 and I love my droid. Anyways I have no idea if it is user error or if I should return this droid and get a new one ? Any ideas or suggestions? Also the battery life sux I got 8hrs out of it today on moderate use.......

View 1 Replies View RelatedBuddy told me to put kangerade and chevy lv 1.2ghz on it. I'm not new to the root game and i've done it to a few eris phones. I got everything installed correctly two days ago but yesterday and today, the phone seems to soft boot every now and again for no particular reason. It doesn't go all the way to the mas a hard boot would, but it goes to the droid logo and reboots from there. I'm running the newest version of Kangerade with chevy 1.2ghz low voltage kernel.

What's strange is that even though I hit cancel, everything still loads. Is there any way to disable that notification and just prevent it from attempting to load flash?

I edited .png files in framework-res.apk; the sdcard preparing icon and also the usb connected icon.
I used this method:
Use terminal, since ADB doesn't work.
su
cp system/framework/framework-res.apk /sdcard
(edit files on your computer opening the framework as an archive using 7zip. put the file on the sd card)
assuming that you aren't in SU anymore..
su
cp /sdcard/framework-res.apk system/framework
chmod 644 system/framework/framework-res.apk
sync
reboot

They are not the .9 png files, and the icons changed without problem, but immediately after a reboot almost every program on my phone is force closing.
I've found a example on this site on how to make a subclass of the application for android.
I've created this code
package mensand.test;
class TestApp extends android.app.Application { }
Added this line to the manifest
android:name="mensand.test.TestApp"
And when i run the app it's starts with a force close message.
When i remove the line from the manifest all runs ok
I just got a google apps account at work and added that email to my phone and now my battery drains fast and Google is the culprit according to battery status.Also seems like the sync wheel is on all the time at top of screen.

View 7 Replies View RelatedMy Evo has been selectively updating my apps for the last two weeks.10 total so far. The market version I have is 1.82 and according to the market troubleshooting page the current version is 2.07 for anyone OVER Android 1.6. So is that my problem? I know its supose to auto update but I tried to force it by doing what the troubleshooting page says and nothing, still on 1.82. The only thing that seems to fix this is to uninstall then install it like its new. I've already lost progress on one game and don't feel like doing that again. Any suggestions? Sprint is no help cuz its a market issue.

I install them again and it works, but the initial update doesn't work. Why is it doing this? The download location? I do have a sd card in the incredible from my previous phone, the droid, would that be the problem? What can I do to update apps without having to worry about redoing each failed install? Where as it should prompt to update I have auto update enabled and the version in the market is newer than the version of my app. SO that meens I would have to uninstall each app then reinstall to acquire the newest version correct?

It seems like the Market application waits for a group of apps to get updated at once before it notifies you, or it seems to only check for updates on a certain day where app updates are rolled out onto the Android market (similar to PSN/XBL updates)
how to force the Market application to check for updates to my apps? I was thinking maybe going to the Market app in the system settings and clearing cache/data, but I was wondering if there's some other way to do it.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have recently updated about 10 apps manually that I already had on my G1, since I saw them relisted in the market (again) but higher up on the "by date" tab.This system is horrid.If a user has an app and a new release comes online it should not only notify the user it should offer to auto update and the first screen that pops up should be a release notes screen so we know why it was updated and what to look for.Another more minor annoyance is that devs seems to lose track of download counts and comments in new vers. This is much more minor, but useful to both the community and the device.If anyone from Android peeks in here, hopefully this makes a list of suggested improvements.
