View 6 Replies View RelatedAnyone else having an issue with their dx lagging to the point to where the phone actually freezes and a battery pull is necessary to undo the problem?
I'm running rooted dx with stock 2.2 with flyx final ROM with black glass theme
if there are others having this issue let me know what you did to correct it, or if its just one of those days
My x is freezing like crazy lately. Any advice on what to do?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSeems to be getting more frequent. At first it was just freezing and would sometimes return to a usable state while I was listening to music. In the past couple of days it has begun freezing completely when using gtalk or other messaging applications when I would go to enter text. Voice to Text hangs and then force close, but everything else freezes up. I hold down the power button and feel the vibration when the screen to choose what option comes up, but nothing on the screen changes. A minute later, it reboots. I haven't had to do a battery pull yet.
Droid is rooted and I have removed maybe 3 apps... I can't pinpoint an installation of something that maybe caused this to start. Anyone with similar issues? Any fix? Should I just try and swap it out? I have the newest update...
Recently when I use the stock/default music player, when I try to pause or stop it, it keeps playing. If I press the hard home key, it will go to the home screen but the music will keep playing even if I press pause. If I am still in the music player app and press the back button, it goes to a black screen and keeps playing. Today I tried to shut down my phone to get it to stop and it kept playing for a couple minutes and took much longer than usual for the phone to shut down.
Do I just have to use a different music player? Is the default one really buggy or something? Not sure if it has anything to do with it but I only noticed it after I updated to 2.2.
Lots of people underestimated Apple and thought Android phones were ahead of the game. Judging by this video, it seems like a tie if not Apple has the race still won. I mean, the fluidness of iPhone is just amazing, which honestly makes it look more intriguing.

View 4 Replies View RelatedDoes anyody have an .apk file of the flan Google search bar widget? The one on my Milestone 2.1 is the old one without the the voice search button(I installed voice search on my phone recently since that too wasn't included). And is it possible to use the search bar from Froyo and install it on my phone?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm curious why anyone would use the Google Search box (and take up that home screen space) when all you have to do is press the magnifying glass for the same feature (and on any home screen, without having to scroll back to the widget). A long-press opens voice search, so I see no benefit in even using the widget at all.
View 3 Replies View RelatedFor some reason google search widget is being obnoxious and i cant remove it from my home. it wont even respond to long presses. i tried deletion and that made my phone unable to reboot.
so I just re-flashed my CM11 ROM again. It just bothers me because its always sending out packet data and utilizing my cpu even in background...i thought it would be easy. my galaxy express sgh-i437 only has a dual core 1.5ghz.
That's the widget below on the screen, but every time I press it just goes to the Google search page or if I hold it it just opens up Nova Launcher actions. Is there a way to do it from the homescreen using voice?

And can someone tell me the various widgets that are pre-installed by Sony Ericsson.
I do a Google image search, and when I go to tap on an image. I get nothing. On my D1 it would show the image, and give options to view it full size, or go to the website, but on the DX, I get nothing.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to integrate google search widget, but met a problem when retrieving keywords from google search widget. It only has problem in the following scenario:
1. Launch my application, and click back. 2. Enter keyword in google search widget, i..e 'a', and launch it. Everything works fine. 3. Press Home. 4. Enter keyword in google search widget, i..e 'b', and launch it. But my application still got 'a' from getIntent() method.
The problem seems to be caused by activity life cycle. For step.4, only onRestart -> onStart -> onResume -> ... is called so that I can't get the launching intent from google search widget. The bug goes away if I finish my application in onStop method. (But it will cause problem for landscape<-> portraint switch since onStop is also invoked when switching screen). Is there any way to get the query string from google search widget for this scenario? Or did I miss any setting in AndroidManifest.xml?
I don't know why, but when I type something into the Google search widget, it will open up a browser, I think Google Now, and then when I click on a link, it will open the link in Chrome, but in Incognito mode! I don't know how to stop it from doing this, and just open links in regular Chrome.
Have tried closing Chrome + Incognito tabs, restarting device, uninstalling Chrome (which isn't possible).

So far: I've confirmed that 3 special voice commands work on my Droid X:
CODE:............
However, there are supposed to be more (from my research), but none of the following is working:
"Call <contact> mobile/work/home/etc" to call that contact
"Dial <number> " to dial the number
Has anyone discovered any other working voice commands?
