Anyone else having this problem? I set the alarm to play an mp3, but when the time comes, it never goes off. Nothing at all.If I select "vibrate" + mp3, then it will vibrate, but it will not play the mp3.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI looked around and couldn't seem to find the information I was seeking in one place but found it on various forums. I thought I would put it here in case others need it or are looking for it. I was trying to add custom mp3 tones to my alarm clock, gmail, sms, etc., but I couldn't get the phone to recognize anything. In the end this is what I did to make it work:
I plugged the phone into my PC using the "usb storage device" option upon connection. I created a folder in the root directory called Tones (probably anything will work as a name) and then created 3 folders inside called Ringtones, Notifications, and Alarms. Anything in those folders will show up only in that app.
In other words, if you want a custom Alarm, you will need an Alarms folder and an mp3 or two. If you have a custom ringtone, you will need to put it in the Ringtones folder and so on. I got a bunch from the Zedge website but I've made a few of my own such as Halo Chant among others.
Any one know of a way to make a calendar event reminder repeat until the user cancels the reminder. Such that if I have a meeting and if I miss the first time that the notification goes off (I'm usually in vibrate only or I use very short very high frequency tones) I'd like the tone to repeat at regular intervals (say every 1 or 2 minutes) until I acknowledge that I'm heading to the meeting. Anyone have an idea for anything like that?
Blackberry didn't do this by default either and there was a WONDERFUL app called BerryBuzz that would allow you to customize notifications to the hilt. In other words different LED colors for each email account or for text messages (or whatever else you could think of) and you could not only have a different sound for them but when the repeating alarm went off you could also individually configure that alarm. Something like this would be really awesome if there was a similar app on Android.
Iv'e had nothing but weird problems since day one of my DroidX. I just received a DX hoping it was Hardware issue's (even though I was convinced it was software related). Everyone kept telling me it was because I rooted my droid, but I disagree.
Come to find out it was Advanced Task Killer causing my problems. I had it set to "Auto Kill" and set the level to "Crazy" and set it to "When Screen Turns Off".
It was killing my alarms, Killing Txt, VM, missed call Notifications, and restarting my phone because it was killing an important process....
IDK if anyone has already posted something about this (I didnt see anything) so I figured i'd throw it out there. Im still currently using ATK but the Auto Kill is turned off. Sending New DX back to Verizon.
I have my DX paired to a motorcycle helmet bluetooth headset (Cardo Scala G4). It's setup on the A2DP profile. It plays music just fine, as well as makes and receives calls. The problem is that when I have an incoming call, my headset does not ring at all. The only thing that happens is, if I'm playing music, the music stops.
I've scoured the internet and cannot find any resolution. I know that it's the phone (and not the headset) because when I pair the headset to my wife's LG Dare, it rings through the headset speakers perfectly. This is a major problem, and I'm hoping that there IS a way to overcome this.
How do you set a ring tone for a contact. I know how to do it on and eris but cant figger out how to do on the x.

I don't even have the vibe turned on, but still it vibes, and does NOT ring. I'd like the vibe & ring (both) option. But would be happy with just the ring too.or have the choice to change when I want.I used to have a very old MOTO Razr, which have PROFILE setting for: Meeting, Outdoor, Silent, Vibe, Normal, etc. I'm surprised The Hi-tech Droid X has nothing like that.

View 4 Replies View RelatedThis may be an odd problem. I get My Droid X to ring. It has always rang just fine but all of the sudden it wont. No matter what I have the ringer set to when I get a call the phone just vibrates. The weird thing is all the other alert tones sound fine. Any thoughts?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have read a few threads about missing contacts but have not seen this mentioned.I set ring tones for a lot of my contacts, not all, maybe I'll get around to it one day.It seems that when I set a new song as a ring tone, one or more of my contacts end up with the new song for a ring tone. I noticed that the default would change to the new song but that is easy enough to reset.The problem with an already set contact is I don't know it until I get a call from them.

I do get vibrate, but no sound. Rings don't work with standard system ringtones, my music, ringdroid ringtones. All I get is vibrate.On the other hand, notification tones are working perfectly fine (from anywhere).

So my deal is, I want to be able to have my phone do everything and vibrate when it's in "vibrate mode" but when I have it set to ringer of any sort, I don't want it to vibrate at all, even during my texts. What can I change to let this work? Right now, I have selected "vibrate also for notifications of SMS." where it'll ring and vibrate. I just want it to ring during "ring mode" and vibrate only during "vibrate mode"

View 11 Replies View Relatedmy Droid X is doing something completely unacceptable.It misses calls.There's no ring, no missed call indicator, just suddenly a voicemail indicator pops up to tell me that someone left a voice message.Sometimes it only happens once, and will receive the next call without a problem.Sometimes it'll do it three or four calls in a row.I've already talked to Verizon about it, and they've gone through the script. View 2 Replies View RelatedStill debating on which phone to buy. With the droid x the major concern is soft volume (some phones seem softer than others); rumors of over heating and wifi issues.
Is there a known hack to fix the volume issue; or has Motorola ack the issue and have publically indicated a fix is in the works? Next weekend is no-tax weekend (in Ma) so I might try to pick a phone up then...
I'm pretty sure the wifi issue is a firmware problem (shame on moto for using an encrypted boot loader and having bugs like this one); not sure if overheating is limited to a few phones or is a design issue.
Anyways please add comments (negative and positive) relative to alternatives (samsung s and evo are major contenders). With the samsung the major negative is it pauses now and then and also have soft volume (there is a fix for the gps issue); for evo the major negative is +$10 and poor battery life (this phone is nice and loud) also the display is a bit dimmer than the droid x (an issue for outdoor usage).
I have no idea what I did. My DX will not ring for incoming calls. It will only vibrate. I've set ringtones and nothing happens.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I make a call there is a short, odd ring-tone that occurs just after I press Dial and before the normal ringing sound begins to indicate the call is going through.
It's about 1/2 second long, can be quite loud sometimes, and is kind of high-pitched....sorry, it's hard to describe. The tone modulates up and down quite fast - da-dum-da-dum-dum (if you can imagine).
I tried re-programming the phone, and also updating roaming, and it's still there every time I make a call. I haven't made any changes to call settings to speak of...never had this on my D1.
I miss my Blackberry choices for notification, in particular, phone only. A quick one press button for ring, vibrate, ring phone only, silent. I use profile and find it a little too in depth. I want something simple. I also think there may be a gremlin or two as I have found my settings changed without my doing anything.

I just installed motorola media link on to my computer and it is amazing. I think this is a must download for all Motorola owners. It allows you to easily download music, photos, and more either on your phone or onto your computer from your phone. It also allows you to create ring tones and send them to your phone. Its like itunes for the iphone.
