I can't put any icons or widgets right under the Google search bar. I feel like I'm wasting a ton of space on the homescreen. Is there any way to make it so the grid that tells you were you can put icons / widgets less restrictive. Right now I can only put 1 row of icons under the "Weather and Flip Clock" widget

View 1 Replies View RelatedThese are mostly minor things, but it's only been a month. To be honest, I think the BodyGlove that I had on the phone for the first couple of months slightly distorted parts of the phone.
Why do I say that?
One, I have another thread about this, but the plastic edge that runs around the keyboard portion of the slider (it's like a rubber bumper, it runs over the USB port and around the rest of the phone) is a bit loose where the USB port is. Also, the screen seems a bit loose when the slider is closer. I can move the screen slightly side to side (don't know how to describe it), as if it's not quite locked into place.
I don't remember these being issues when I first got the phone, but I attached the BodyGlove about 2 hours after I got it so I really have no idea. But the slider fits together so tightly that I think the clasps that held the BodyGlove on the phone may have causes the phone to adjust slightly and now that I'm not using the BodyGlove any more that adjustment is causing looseness.
How can i keep my phone from saving all the things I've searched for on the quik search option

View 26 Replies View RelatedAfter many weeks of waiting and my fiasco almost switching to an Incredible, my X finally arrived today. I'm new to the forum but have been reading around since ordering my phone. I don't intend to root at the moment because it's not what i need and I want to see how I like froyo. I will be using launcher pro but I really want these, or similar, dock icons but can't seem to locate them. I don't need to root or anything to get the completely transparent dock background do I? And for those with macs, what do you feel that the best way to move things between your phone and mac are? I plan on using double twist unless someone can mention something they feel is better!

View 2 Replies View Relatedit seems like everything just boots when the phone does..i have advanced task manager to end things that arent in use every 30 min but that doesnt take care of them booting up to begin with..like facebook yes i use it but why does it have to be a running app on boot same for the market.

There are certain things I want to backup before doing and know of Titanium Backup and MyBackup but wasn't sure if one or the other could do everything I needed. This what I'd like backed up I think that covers everything. Can anyone tell me if either Titanium or MyBackup can do all of this? Anything else I should want backed up (that isn't already by Google) but not thinking of?

Now, after theming, the search button does nothing from the homescreen, but does still work while in applications, the browser, the market, etc. I am running launcher pro, deodexed w/ revolution.

I installed gesture search last night and now one of my few gripes with the phone is solved. I hated having to having to hold the options button to bring up a keyboard and then having to clear my last entry to start another search.

One thing that annoyed me was having to double tap on things like menu items, when I wasn't used to having to double tap those before. I keep thinking I must be overlooking something, yet I can't seem to get the contact search to work, beyond searching the first name and last name fields. I want to be able to search by organization and nickname as well. This works fine in the browser with Google contacts, but in the phone / contacts app in Android (2.0, Droid), it doesn't work. I could do this search on my Pilot 1000 in 1995. Could a Google search function really be this bad? Tell me it isn't so. What am I missing?

View 10 Replies View RelatedRunning SS 4.8 on my Droid and cannot use the search button on the front. I get the haptic feedback and then nothing happens. If I long press it I can use the voice search but without this I am honestly tempted to go back to stock. Does anyone know how to re-associate the button properly? Rooting has been fun and all but the headache is starting to far outweigh the reward at this point. ADW launcher doesn't freeze like the default does but I would like to be able to search to get to things instead of diving 5 menus deep all of the time.
