Motorola Droid X :: Way To Search Whole Email
Oct 4, 2010Is there a way to search the WHOLE email? I want my email search to find a keyword anywhere, not just the sender.

Motorola Droid 2 :: Corporate Email Search On D2
Oct 1, 2010Open the email inbox, tap the search icon and the keyboard appears - but no search box. When I'd seen that before I thought it was just an odd defect.
When you start typing the letters you type appear above the keyboard and the emails are filtered on subject/sender by what you type.
Very cool...would like to have things like sorting by subject/sender, and searching contents, but heck, getting any search at all in exchange email on the Droid is great...does not exist in stock 2.2.
Hopefully I'm not the only one who didn't know. I'm on the 2.3.15 leak...no idea if it is in 2.2.20 as well...

Nov 15, 2010Before, when I pressed the search button (the one with the magnifying glass) it cued up the google search bar. Now, after theming, the search button does nothing from the homescreen, but does still work while in applications, the browser, the market, etc. I am running launcher pro, deodexed w/ revolution.

Jul 23, 2010I wanted to put this in the droid X section because the default way of searching contacts is horrible. I installed gesture search last night and now one of my few gripes with the phone is solved. I hated having to having to hold the options button to bring up a keyboard and then having to clear my last entry to start another search.

Nov 2, 2010I have searched and haven't been able to find any threads with one of my issues, so I apologize in advance if I missed one. Anyways, my DX has been working flawlessly since I got it back on 10/6. Sunday, 10/31, my DX quit syncing just my corporate Exchange 2003 emails, then yesterday it started not sending emails as well and now, this morning, it quit syncing my personal email. Corporate email will sync manually, just not push. I have rebooted several times, pulled the battery several times, and also deleted both my Exchange account and my personal account and re-added both and the problem still persists. I don't have any task killer apps installed and haven't recently added any apps since the issues started. Anyone have an idea what may be causing the lack of push (in and out) on both of my accounts?

Well, i have putted to be notified in 1 hour if i have new emails the problem is the phone didn't check the emails and didn't have the notifications. only if i enter on the "Mail" application i have the new emails.. if i didn't enter, this didn't check the emails. What is the problem?. I have APN droid installed and i have deactivated the 3g 2g gaps. But i have configuration the WIFI to stay connected always.

Jan 26, 2010I just pulled the battery to do a reset last night after a lockup and today I'm getting notifications everytime I get a new email. it never used to do this and i figured it was just cause I didn't use the gmail. now I'm thinking that it just might be one of the background tasks that I was always killing. I recently switched to home++ and I didn't use the built in task killer all day. so I guess my question is, does anyone know which background task would control this so I don't kill it? also, is there a place to go in the settings to change the led color for email alerts?

Sep 3, 2010I'm starting to get junk mail sent directly to my phone through my hotmail email account. I have added both the sender and the senders domain to the list using Windows Live Mail Beta. These emails are still getting through to my Droid X. First, there are no option on the phone to block emails is there? And secondly, there is not an option to add emails to any junk folder on the phone either that I have found. Anyone else having this problem? I've tried both adding my email accounts through Corporate (for hotmail/msn) and the email option on the phone.

Jul 27, 2010When using a BB and starting an email, in the name field I could type "Jo Ba" and the search results would return Joe Barnes and John Baker and I could choose from either. I do the same on the Incredible and get nothing. Additionally, if I wanted to get the name of someone at a specific company I could go to the contacts and type "Goog" and all the contacts that had Google in them would show on the screen. Am I missing something, is there a better way or is there an app that handles people searches a bit better?

Feb 16, 2010Over the past week or 2, several times now, I'll get a series of email notifications (sometimes as many as 10 or so, a few seconds apart), but then there won't be any messages. I'll check later, but still nothing.
I have a POP, gmail and an exchange account.
I'll also sometimes have POP email keep coming back, sometimes 5+ times, after deleting it every time. It may be 30 minutes later, or hours later.

Oct 23, 2013I've a couple of Android devices, and I'm looking for an application that will email me (once) when the battery is full, (or when the battery is almost dead).
I don't always stick around when it's charging, so having it just make a sound when it's full doesn't catch my attention. Being notified with an email before my device's battery dies, would catch it and recharge, before I have to do a long recharge session.
Email just works best for me. I've checked around, and it doesn't seem that an app like this is out there. Having a notification via prowl/growl could work too, but less so than email.

But when I start typing, the keyboard disappears and a white bar appears on the bottom of the screen with the first letter that I typed. It happens on this website and some others but not all. Oct 25, 2010Running SS 4.8 on my Droid and cannot use the search button on the front. I get the haptic feedback and then nothing happens. If I long press it I can use the voice search but without this I am honestly tempted to go back to stock. Does anyone know how to re-associate the button properly? Rooting has been fun and all but the headache is starting to far outweigh the reward at this point. ADW launcher doesn't freeze like the default does but I would like to be able to search to get to things instead of diving 5 menus deep all of the time.

It used to work that when I held down the little magnifying glass in the lower right corner of my screen it would bring up a voice search that let me say pretty much anything... navigate to [here], call [this person].
