The post says it all. I did a little searching and cannot seem to find this particular issue.Whenever I am in MOBILE NETWORK SETTINGS I have T-Mo as an ACCESS POINT NAME, but I am unable to see t-mo in the NETWORK OPERATOR search....only ATT.What do I need to do to correct this?

View 12 Replies View RelatedI use it all of the time for voice commands. "Call so and so"... I am frustrated. I really don't want to do ANOTHER hard reset. It's such a pain to get everything customized again... Ringtones especially. Has this happened to anyone else? Any ideas on how to fix it besides resetting it? I tried a soft reset to no avail.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI got the latest update for my Vibrant about a couple of days ago and everything was going fine. Today at work, my phone ran out of batteries and after charging it and turning it back on, I get an error "Not Registered on Network" when I try to dial. I've turned it off, restarted it, taken battery out, taken SIM card out, blew on it, etc and still I don't have any bars and cannot make phone calls.
Any ideas? I want to do a factory reset but all I have done so far to "back up" my files is simply copy and paste all the files on to my laptop HD. Is here a better solution than that? I'm gonna have to reinstall EVERYTHING, right?
I cannot find the answer online for this. When I do a search on my corp e-mail it always says no matches. It never works. Anyone have a solution?

View 11 Replies View RelatedIf you go into settings/date and time the first option is a check box that says Automatic (use network-provided values). If you uncheck that it does not stick through a reboot. Upon restarting your phone this box will be checked once again. Now for the interesting part. If I put the phone into flight mode, uncheck the automatic box and then change the time and/or date. The instant I re-check automatic the time is reset correctly. How is this possible? I thought that flight mode actually turned the radio off. If it does indeed turn the radio off then how is the phone able to instantly set the time to the correct value?

I get 2 icons in the upper right hand corner -- red exclamation mark, and USB icon.
I have USB debugging turned ON.
I get the prompt to mount
I click on mount

I have a problem with a brand new Galaxy i9000 and the wifi. I have managed to add one wifi network to it that I use at home. I have a second wifi network that I want to add, called cat, but when I try to add it from the Add wifi network place, it gives the error: Unable to save the network. i have tried a power on and off. Is there a maximum number of wireless networks one can save, or is there a problem with my actual 'phone? The phone is very laggy as well, and almost impossible to use when 3G is active. (Load averages are as high as 30 sometimes).
View 1 Replies View RelatedSerious issue here with my galaxy. I was coming back to Denmark from Sweden yesterday and my phone was working fine on roaming all this time. As my train crosses to Denmark, I lose the network, and very much since then have not been able to get it back. If I manually go into search for networks, it will take a minute or so and sometimes finally find some networks.
If I choose my home network, it will try for 2-3 minutes and fail 90% of the time and sometimes succeed.
That is act as if I was connected with 4 bars, but still, when I send myself an SMS from another phone, or try to call, nothing comes up. I know it is not the SIM, or the provider, as I have switched SIMs with another phone and the SIM works on the other phone, just like the other phone's SIM doesn't work on my galaxy. I am running Galaxo1.1, but as I said this problem started occurring without my even handling the phone at that time.
I downloaded the .zip file located in this thread. Every time I attempt to "reinstall packages" it won't work. Yes, I renamed it to update.zip, yes my phone is rooted. The error message simply says "Installation aborted" then "Unable to mount" upon a second attempt. I'm running the Axura ROM 2.0.5 using the Zeam launcher.

When I connect my Vibrant phone to my Win XP system and select as Mass Storage, I can see two removable drives but can't open it? When I try to double click, it says "Please insert disk in to drive D:" My son's Win 7 system accepts it fine.

I turn it on, it says its on for like 10 seconds and at the bottom of the screen it says "unable to save networks" and then it says "unable to scan networks" and then it turns right back off
View 3 Replies View RelatedLong story: Went in, got my Vibrant, immediately downloaded a few apps to play/test the device in the store. I got handcent and barcode scanner. Went home, tried rooting phone, couldn't get into the recovery menu. Gave up on rooting for the moment and tried to download launcher pro, and immediately after it started the download it gave me a "download unsuccessful" error, regardless of whether I was connected via 3G or Wifi. I then tried downloading several other apps and got the same error. Afterwords, I tried clearing the market's cache, signing in/out of Google Talk, uninstalling the apps I had originally downloaded, rebooting the phone; nothing worked (and I was unable to reinstall the apps I had managed to install in the first place, due to the same error). I then attempted a factory reset and was unable to do that, given the error "No reset was performed because the System Clear service is unavailable." After going through tech support through everything I did, they asked me to do a hard reset of the phone, which I didn't realize used the same recovery menu as one must access to root the phone. Since I couldn't get into the recovery menu for whatever reason (I blamed my fingers at the time), I was told to go back to the store to swap my phone out for a new one. Did that, repeated the app downloading process but didn't connect it to anything other than a car charger, and the app store gave me the same error, and I'm again unable to perform a factory reset or a hard reset. I know it's not my fingers, though, because I was able to get into the recovery menu of a display phone at the store.I'm going back to the store tomorrow to swap my SIM out, since tech doesn't know what else to do with it, but I was wondering if you guys had any input.Short story: First symptom was all market downloads failed with error: Download unsuccessful. Second symptom was inability to perform a factory reset or a hard reset. Possible causes/solutions?EDIT: Problem seems to have been fixed by going to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > (menu) > Filter > All > Download Manager > Clear Data. Will update if anything fails afterwards.

1. I plan on going South Africa. According to this site, both the phone and 3g should work perfectly right? GSM World Coverage Map- GSM Country List by frequency bands
2. I have seen an app to unlock the Vibrant. It is by DaGentooBoy from XDA. Its called Samsung Galxy S Unlock. Would it be better for me to use this app or to just request T-Mobile to give me the unlock code. Are there any pros or cons for using either method.
3. If the OTA update or Froyo don't come out before I am gone, will I be able to get an OTA over wifi while I am in South Africa. Just to clarify, I will be using a local sim over there. I will discontinue from tmobile when I leave the US I know nothing of rooting. This is my first smartphone, so if possible I would be hesitant of doing any updates via the computer that requires me to loose all my info. I have too many apps and saved games and settings to download again so its just a scary thought of loosing it all.
4. Will google navigation work overseas. I have heard people say yes and no. I am hesitant to buy apps like co-pilot as they cost a lot and have mixed reviews, so I wanted to find out about this.
I'm building the search in an application and need to have a way of putting the suggestions which I get from my server as a JSON-array into the list of suggestions which is displayed below the Quick Search Box. Is there an easy way to have the quick search box read such resources? Currently I am trying to use a ContentProvider, but the interface methods clearly indicate one is supposed to be querying a database to get the suggestions. I guess using a ContentProvider is the correct way if you are searching the data which is stored inside the application. I am not so sure however, that it is the right way if you need to query a network resource.
It makes no sense for me to save the suggestions I get from the network to a local database, as the suggestions and their hit rate will vary from time to time. Anyone had this issue? Or can point me in the direction of a similar question? I could not find questions here on stack that mentioned network suggestions.
The galaxy s phones were made for high end games. I want to find and try all the high end games for android, so please post which games you found...Here are the high end games I've tried and what I think about them:
Asphalt HD from Gameloft. I really love this racing game. Its on par with racing games made for the psp. I hope they release an expansion pack with more cars/tracks/events. N.O.V.A from Gameloft. A pretty good fps. It kinda reminds me of halo. I wish there was more weapons and enemies/bosses. note: you cant get this game from the market, you have to buy from the gameloft website. Dungeon Hunter from Gameloft. A standard rpg. Im playing this right now. my thoughts so far is that its a pretty good rpg for a phone but pales in comparison to handheld console rpgs. note: you cant get this game from the market, you have to buy from the gameloft website. Hero of Sparta from gameloft. its a hack n slash game. this is the only game from the gameloft hd series that I didnt like so far. I havent tried the other 5 HD games from gameloft but I plan on doing so.
I really want to try all the high end games for android so please any games you have found

I keep thinking I must be overlooking something, yet I can't seem to get the contact search to work, beyond searching the first name and last name fields. I want to be able to search by organization and nickname as well. This works fine in the browser with Google contacts, but in the phone / contacts app in Android (2.0, Droid), it doesn't work. I could do this search on my Pilot 1000 in 1995. Could a Google search function really be this bad? Tell me it isn't so. What am I missing?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI was really hoping to save 55% off the cost of the Tmobile Gel Case but alas it was not to be. When my wife saw the case installed on the phone she said "what the heck?" That's because the case fits the Vibrant unevenly. And it doesn't wrap around the bezel fully.
Here is my review:
The Amzer "Silicone Skin Case" is completely unacceptable to me in terms of fit, feel and function. The Vibrant is a top of the line, expensive and amazing device deserving of quality accessories. This case is basically junk and not commensurate with the quality or value of the Vibrant.
First the fit: It slides onto the Vibrant easily enough (too easily in fact - it feels like it might fall off) and the cutouts are all lined up with the camera, USB, etc. However, the case barely fits around the bezel and it fits the face of the phone unevenly so you can see the bezel on one side but not the other side. The last point about the fit is that the phone feels like it could pop out of the case if you squeezed the sides; this is a very unsettling feeling. A case should make you feel more secure not less and it shouldn't detract from the quality appearance of this device.
Second, the feel: The case feels much too thin along the sides, the corners feel nice and thick as they should be to protect the phone. The sides however offer little in the way of protection. It just feels cheap and not nearly thick enough to offer much protection.
Third, the function: I bought a case to protect the phone from damage in the event it is dropped. I want protection around the bezel and the sides and back of the phone. The Amzer case only seems to protect the Vibrant on the corners where this case is thicker. I feel like if I dropped the phone and it landed on the side there would be little to prevent the phone from being damaged.
Needless to say I was disappointed when I tried the Amzer on my Vibrant this afternoon. So much so that I immediately called Amazon to arrange for its return. I have the Gel Case from Tmobile which by comparison is vastly superior although 55% more in price.
In this case you get what you pay for. And I do not want to skimp on protection a device as valuable as the Vibrant. Let's see, save $6 on a case for a $500 phone? No way, not when it's ugly when installed, feels cheap and insecure in the hand, and offers less protection. The Tmobile case fits snugly, wraps evenly around the bezel, is thicker to better protect the phone in the event of an impact.
I give this case 1 out 5 stars. The Tmobile Gel Case gets 4.5 stars.

Someone confirmed it there. This would make this the only other Tmobile branded android phone to work with the cheap data plan other than the Behold 2.
For how long who knows, the behold 2 has been going on for years, but tmo, nor anyone really cared about that phone
Is there any way that I can create backups for the vibrant that work without installing and reinstalling the voodoo lag fix everytime? I know that clockwork recovery doesn't work with voodoo installed, and messes up my phone if I try it.
