Motorola Droid :: Recovering Deleted Videos 1 - Police Corruption
Sep 12, 2010
A. How to tell what time a certain video was deleted from my phone?
B. How to restore the video?
Since this is of EXTREME importance to me I wanted to make sure I go about this in the right process and only talk to the very best professionals/most knowledgeable on the site. It involves the Police removing videos from my phone after I was taken into custody. So a lil extra spice for an otherwise boring question. I took out my micro sd card so nothing else writes to it and am waiting to hear back from you guys. The goal is to prove that I was in custody when the videos were deleted-(Police corruption) and to also restore them to prove my innocence.

I sent a snapchat on accident without saving it, and it was one I meant to save. I really want to find it, but I can't seem to figure out how to open the nomedia file.
I plugged my phone into my computer and found all the snapchat files, and I read that you can just delete .NOMEDIA from the name and it turns it to a JPEG and opens it. The one I want to open is:
h1a81hurcs00h1380872338543.jpg.nomedia
Certainly enough, when I rename it without the nomedia, it recognizes it as a JPEG, but when I open it with windows photo viewer, it can't open it. It says the file may be damaged/corrupted/wrong file type.

I want to design a mobile application/tool for recovering deleted messages/pictures/files from the phone. I have the choice to do that using Android or Symbian. what do you think is more easier provided that I have to use some operating system concepts to solve the problem and recover deleted messages. Also what are the concepts that I can use for recovery ?

I accidentally deleted some photos the other day and I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to get them back. I know a lot of the times it doesn't really delete the data, it just opens up the space to be written over.

I have a Samsung Note 3 updated to 4.4.2
I deleted some videos by accident and I need to get them back. I don't have any added memory, everything is written to the internal storage. ALL of the recovery software I have tried is asking for USB mass storage or doesn't work.
DiskDigger App also doesn't work. I read that mass storage is no longer available on 4.4.2. Supposedly everything connects with some new system called MTP.
How can I get my files back from the internal memory? There MUST be some way to do this. There must be some way to read the entire internal storage disk!

1. I connect my phone to my PC and copy mp3 files to the phone's sd card. But then immediately when it's done it's all gone again! The files just don't stay there.
2. Taking photos, lots of them age getting corrupted.
Could this be a quality issue with the SD card?? Admittedly i got 32gb for only $50. Could it be as simple as that ?

One problem, everytime i send a picture message to my friends they only get "Message Corrupt" and they cant open it. One of my friends has a 'Desire' and he can open it fine. i can recieve pic messages ok. Have spoke to my service provider, they cant help me at all. They did try for 2 hrs this morning. I have 14 days to leave this phone back, it would be a shame to leave this back because of a messaging problem. but i will as picture messaging adds a bit of fun to your phone.

One would be an app that I could take a picture of someone with and log it into my field contact notes with their name and where they were (prefer GPS) Second would be just a simple program I could export into google maps that would let me log where my patrol car was when I locked someone into radar that was speeding or commited another violation. That way I could bring it to court to show where I was and in fact I could witness that violation from my perspective.

I love the fact that the Market is open and anyone can create an App for Android phones. The problem is that not all developers are proficient enough to create well behaved Apps. Most problems that we are having with Android phones are caused by Apps not playing well with others not the Android operating system itself. We need to put more comments into the market when we discover problems with apps. I would prefer this instead of having Google become the App Police like Apple. It is difficult to determine which app is at fault when a problem occurs. For instance, why do some people have so much trouble answering their phone on the Droid using the slider. Some point to Handscent others point to other apps. How can we determine which app is at fault other than resetting the phone to Factory settings and starting over one app at a time? Seems a bit tedious. What do you think should be done?

I went to try and open a message but the app kept bringing up an error and I'd have to force close it. The screen would then switch to my home screen but with no shortcuts just a background then after a second go black until I hit the home button. I restarted the phone and when I opened messaging ALL my conversations were gone. Is this a known glitch? is there a way to get all my texts back?

Well a new version of my favorite ROM came out and I installed it. Sadly the designer deleted my wallpaper in the last update and in this one he deleted my ring tone and notification tones. How can I back up these choices and add them to the newest version of the ROM? The new version is much quicker and I want to use it but only with those tones.

My droid deletes all my text messages randomly. I've had it for 2 1/2+ months and it has done it twice, leading me to believe that it happens every month, regularly, because it always happens at the beginning of the month. The last time it happened, I brought it to the Verizon store but all they do is blame the consumer for any faults with software because Android is open source. Is there a way to get my texts back and how can I solve this problem? Is there an app that deletes text messages every month or so because of a hidden setting? Is there a solution to this problem without reformatting (I have my contacts, calendar, and a bunch of other stuff on my phone and also apps and I don't wanna delete anything).

I was looking through the files via ASTRO and also Files last night. I noticed several cases where folders, which I removed the app, were still in the directory. Also, the Zedge folder was full of images from browsing I presume.
I've cleared the cache via the browser and a lot of stuff was not removed. I thought I deleted an app and traces still remain.
How can I best clean things up?

So my droid just deleted about 1,000 or so text and picture messages among 5 or 6 different threads. I don't know what I could have done to cause this, as I've had "never delete messages" selected since day one.
I've seen a few more instances of this happening on other forums, but no mention of it here. Has anybody else run into this bug? It's infuriating.
