So I've searched through the forum and found no threads about this this has happened to me twice already
and my text message inbox just completely deleted everything on its own i have the text message maximum limit to 999 and i use the stock messaging app and my phone is not rooted its a bit annoying when all the messages get deleted. does this happen to anyone else?

My Droid was acting up a bit today. It was really laggy today so I did a battery pull, after which it was fine. Then tonight on the way home I got an email, read it, and the notification went away, but in my Gmail it still showed "Inbox (1)" but the email showed as read. I synced it twice, but it stayed the same way. When I got home tonight, I logged on to my email and it showed the email as unread. I just downloaded Twidroid Pro and Google Goggles, so I'm wondering which of these is the culprit.
View 11 Replies View RelatedThis is the only thing I miss from my Blackberry. I know I can add a message icon on the homeccreen but I want to have 1 inbox on my homescreen that displays an unread message count and the inbox includes:
-all missed calls
-voicemails
-facebook msgs
-texts
-email
Is there an app for this? or a way to do it i'm missing? search resulted in unadressed topics.
My unrooted droid on 2.1 deleted all my text message threads in the stock messaging app even the locked ones. What I don't get is ALL the picture messages are gone but the dialer storage is 10.6 mb. What the heck? It should be almost zero.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo, I've had my Droid for about a week and a half now, and just starting yesterday, it keeps deleting my message history. The phone freezes up, the causes me to force close my messages and I have to restart the phone in order to get back in to my inbox. Any suggestions?
View 2 Replies View RelatedGo into your phone contacts and pick a contact you have texted. On the open field below the contact, slide to the right and you will see a list of every text message you have sent and received from that person even if you deleted the messages!
Delete contact and re-enter the contact.
Supposedly to be fixed with an update?

Just today I have started having a strange issue with Gmail on my Droid. If I delete a message from my phone, it appears to delete OK, and disappears from the phone. If I go to the computer and log in, however, the message will still be there, no matter how long I wait. This is causing my Gmail counter widget I have installed on the phone to show an incorrect number, as it is counting the messages on the server, not the phone. No matter how many times I try to resync Gmail, once I delete a message from my phone, it will not show back up on the phone, but will remain on the server until I log into a computer & delete them from there.
View 2 Replies View Relatedmy phone is VERY new, and I am VERY confused with most of it. However, on my home page there is (WAS) a text messaging icon, a voicemail icon, a browser icon, and then a market icon. Somehow a second text messaging icon showed up. So there was my normal original text message icon, and then a larger one above it. So I tried deleting one of them, it would not work, so i tried the other one, did not work. Then I turned off my phone and turned it back on and now they are both gone. I tried hitting menu, then add, then motorola widgets and then messages, but the only option for a text messaging icon is the red message icon, i was the actual text message icon, HOW DO I GET IT!!?? It's bugging me very badly.

My msg icon on the main screen showin 1 notification but when i click the icon there is no new message in my inbox.
Since upgrading to Froyo, whenever I get new email, any existing email in my inbox is automatically shifted to the Trash folder. Is anyone else having this problem? Will doing the factory reset fix this?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm having an issue with deleting emails from the generic email client on Android 1.5. I use the gmail app for dedicated gmail stuff, works like a dream. However, my uni email address (IMAP) using the normal 'email' app is a different story. It will receive emails no problem, but if I delete them they disappear for 2 seconds, then reappear in the inbox again (in the same place) with a line through them, they don't even move into the trash folder. However, what does happen is that they disappear off my webmail server. Is there a way of actually removing something from the inbox once it's been received, or is it there forever? It's a LG Gw620 (eve/intouch max) running android 1.5.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am very disappointed with all my inbox messages deleted & moved to trash! ,, & am shocked to have not found a reasonable justification to this, whether on Google Support Forum or here on Android's.Ever since I used the E-mail application on my Android [v 1.6] Sony Ericsson - Xperia - X10 phone, all my Email messages moved to trash & God only knows if something is forever gone.It even changed the filters & their settings.The problem is common among other users but the causes are different.Why would IMAP do this? why isn't anyone justifying this?I demand an 'undo' for all this & a justification. In God's name, I am not going to fix this manually, am I? If so, this is an incredible huge waste.

I have tried the method of forming URI for sms (content://sms/ in box) and then querying it for various parameters. But I cannot find any documentation for reading in box sms in the standard Android Develop Docs. It was mentioned at various websites that this content has been removed from the standard sdk. The application may not support higher version of android.

View 8 Replies View RelatedWhenever I go into Gmail (I do not have push notification on, just check it every once in a while) it will say at the top "Inbox (2)", but then says "No Conversations" in the middle of the screen where it is supposed to list all the emails in my Inbox. I know that there are two in there because they are there whenever I check Gmail on my computer.I looked for an option in the Gmail settings in case it only shows unread mail, but can't find anything.If I navigate to a different label, it will show all the emails in them, just not the Inbox.It started out OK, but I just noticed it a day or so ago doing this.My father was messing around with my phone the other day, and I'm wondering if he did something?

If i leave my gmail on the inbox screen and go to the home screen of the phone, when i return to the gmail app a while later after I have received a new email, it takes me directly to a prior email message--not the newest message or my inbox, but to some other older message. This keeps happening no matter what I do. I am using two different gmail accounts, and even if I leave the gmail app from my secondary account--it still snaps back to my primary account and some old email after my phone has slept for a while. Does anyone have any idea what is happening?

The catch is that they would have to stay there, not have to be reloaded (as if you were accessing the mailbox from the website on your computer) and wouldn't get pushed down the line and out of sight from your designated number of emails displayed at once in the list?

The issue I have though is I can send messages, my calendar syncs, but for some reason not my inbox. Has anyone else come across this?
I've got an Exchange account set up, and my personal Gmail account. I don't use the Gmail app on the phone, preferring to use the "email" program. I love the combined inbox, but when I get a mail alert and use it to open the email program it opens in the specific inbox for that account in the email program. Is there any way to have it open my combined inbox by default?

When i go to delete emails in my gmail inbox on my phone they delete off the phone, but not in my actual gmail inbox online. Because when i delete the emails off my phone the inbox counter still reads all those emails that are still there. Well when i go online to delete them it goes back to normal. How can i fix this to where i dont have to keep goin online to delete emails?
