I have the choice to do that using Android or Symbian. what do you think is more easier provided that I have to use some operating system concepts to solve the problem and recover deleted messages. Dec 10, 2013I sent a snapchat on accident without saving it, and it was one I meant to save. I really want to find it, but I can't seem to figure out how to open the nomedia file.
I plugged my phone into my computer and found all the snapchat files, and I read that you can just delete .NOMEDIA from the name and it turns it to a JPEG and opens it. The one I want to open is:
h1a81hurcs00h1380872338543.jpg.nomedia
Certainly enough, when I rename it without the nomedia, it recognizes it as a JPEG, but when I open it with windows photo viewer, it can't open it. It says the file may be damaged/corrupted/wrong file type.

Since this is of EXTREME importance to me I wanted to make sure I go about this in the right process and only talk to the very best professionals/most knowledgeable on the site. It involves the Police removing videos from my phone after I was taken into custody. So a lil extra spice for an otherwise boring question. I took out my micro sd card so nothing else writes to it and am waiting to hear back from you guys. The goal is to prove that I was in custody when the videos were deleted-(Police corruption) and to also restore them to prove my innocence.
HTC Droid Eris :: Deleted All Phone Numbers
May 3, 2010I just got the droid eris on Saturday. Then this morning I went to use it and found out I have no phone numbers! Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this? I was told by the person in the store that goggle stored all my phone numbers. but I'm not sure how to access this.

Feb 11, 2010My fiance and I both got the Eris last week, and we both got our contacts transfered from our old phones (hers was LG EnV Touch). We both had existing Gmail accounts which were setup by the Verizon techs at the store as well. The other day, she started telling me that she was getting this weird message on her phone "Too Many Contact Deletes" or something to that effect. I disregarded it as nothing, and carried on until tonight.
She called me freaking out that all her favorite people in her HTC Favorites Widget were gone, including me, and that my number just showed up when i called her, no name, no picture, just number. So I had her check her People list and she said they were all still there, except that all their Phone Numbers were missing. I quickly logged into her GMail account to confirm, sure enough, everyone was still there, but all the numbers were gone.
I did some research and found a little bit on the error message she got originally, but nothing about random deletion of contacts phone numbers. I still have her LG EnV Touch here with all her contacts, and am contemplating deleting all of her Gmail contacts, all of her Phone contacts and then importing the list into GMail, and syncing with the phone. Is that what you would do? I'm worried that this will happen again. What is this caused by and how does she prevent this in the future?
HTC Incredible :: Recovering Stolen Phone
May 22, 2010I'm new with VW and i need to figure out if i can recover my cell phone.Are they able to locate it with the GPS function? I didn't download any software or apps specifically for locating cell phone.My cell died the night it was stolen and i called it today and it rang so the person had to of charged it and is most likely using it.I'm thinking about seeing what numbers the person has called and try to use them to recover the phone. Either having the police contact them and ask who is their friend that called them from my number or me calling and pretending to be the police officer investigating the stolen phone.Any suggestions?

Aug 21, 2010I dropped my Incredible the other day and the screen cracked and is now completely black. Luckily Verizon will replace it for me under insurance (after paying my deductible). However before I send back the old phone I want to get my old pictures and texts off it. Is that possible?
The phone itself is working (lower soft keys light up, I can feel haptic feedback, etc). NOTHING appears on the screen however. When I plug my USB cable in, I get a sound on my PC indicating a USB device is plugged in, but since I can't see the phone screen, I can't mount the device via the notifications menu.
HTC Incredible :: Messages Contact List - Only Phone Numbers?
Apr 29, 2010Just got my Incredible and it is rocking. Damn this thing is fast! I notice that when I try to compose an sms message, the contact search list contains ALL of my contacts (phone + Google). This is super annoying, as I literally have thousands of Google contacts and some people have numerous accounts, so it's incredibly difficult to sort through and is honestly the first thing I have seen the phone start to choke on. The 'People' widget has a 'View' setting that allows me to limit by just phone contacts, but I can't seem to find any sort of filter in the search when I'm composing a message. I can type each name individually and select, but having a big list would be nice. Again, I'd like to be able to select message recipients from a list containing only phone contacts.

Oct 24, 2012My Samsung Intercept, running Android 2.2 I think (whatever the most recent VM update was), got soaked. I've tried the trick where you let it sit in rice for a few days to soak up the moisture, but the touchscreen is shot. The phone works fine except that I can't unlock the screen since the touch functionality just isn't working, which means I can't do anything with the phone...
Is there a way to recover my text messages by connecting to a computer? I'm not sure if I can even activate the USB functionality without the touchscreen working. I've been using Handcent for my texts, perhaps by some miracle is saves to the SD card?
If all else fails, I can replace the touchscreen myself. Where is a reputable source for a replacement for it?

Sep 16, 2010Last night, my HTC Incredible randomly locked up -- went totally black, wouldn't respond to anything. After a few tries, I was able to reboot, at which point the phone still seemed to be having trouble (plain black background, clock and weather cutting in and out). After another reboot or two, the phone began to function normally, but all of my contacts that were stored in the phone (as opposed to Google or FB for HTC sense contacts) were deleted. There were approximately 5 random contacts in my "People" section, all seemingly imported from Facebook. Pictures and text messages were still on the phone, but the text messages were only associated with the phone numbers, not with the names. Additionally, when I tried to make a phone call, I got a message that my phone was not authorized. After speaking with Verizon, my phone's calling capabilities were restored. I also used backup assistant to restore most of the contacts to my phone (though for some reason the last time they were backed up was approximately 2 years ago, so I have no numbers that I've gotten in the interim. Does anyone have any ideas as to what happened to my phone, and whether there is any way to restore the contacts that I had before last night's crash? Also, is there any way to link all contacts with their Facebook profiles in one batch so that the pictures are matched up, or do I have to do this individually for each one using the "link" feature?

Mar 20, 2013My HT Desire HD touchscreen died (at least partly) last week. I can no longer use anything in a column about a centimetre wide that runs the whole right side of the screen - which includes the Enter button. So I can't actually login to the phone
I've bought a new phone (Sony Xperia Z) and got my sim copied and switched the SD card from the Desire to the Sony. However, there is still stuff on the phone. I've realised that at least some of my data was on the onboard memory and I'd like to get it back. So basically I'm looking for ways to get the data back.
I can't plug the phone in and pull data off because I need to be able to login to switch it from charge only to USB drive. Maybe there's a way to force this?
I read an interesting post on hooking a USB keyboard to android and it should "just work" (How To Connect a USB Keyboard To Your Android Phone). However, I don't have the adapter to connect it, and the Desire ran an older version of android with Sense on top, so it may "just not work".
HTC Incredible : Run "Sync With AppBrain" Feature - Will It Recreate Deleted Apps On Phone?
Aug 20, 2010Since I got my Dinc back in June I have pretty much used AppBrain exclusively to install apps. If you know AppBrain, you know that your account automatically makes and saves a list of the apps you load. And you can sync this list with your phone to keep both current. It is also like a backup incase something happens to the apps on your phone. Well yesterday I was clicking my mouse faster than I was thinking and I deleted my "Apps on Phone" list from the AppBrain website. So my question is...If I run the "Sync with AppBrain" feature from my phone will it recreate the deleted "Apps on Phone" list on AppBrain or will it delete the apps from my phone

Apr 19, 2010I'm on my parents family plan. Because I won't be able to take my parents to the store on Thursday morning (b/c of work) I am thinking of pre-ordering it. Will I be able to take it to the store for activation/transfer my numbers and everything without the "primary phone owner" or whatever Verizon calls the main number on the family plan? May 8, 2010My understanding is that you can use GV's voicemail service in lieu of the carrier's voicemail, even with a non-GV phone number. I have selected the option in GV to use GV as the main voicemail for both my VZW and GV phone numbers. However, when someone calls my VZW number, they receive a "your call cannot be completed" recording and the call ends. Does anyone know how I can correct this? Is visual voicemail behind the issue?

May 12, 2010After playing with my Incredible for many many many hours, just found a really sweet trick.In the favorites widget i have people with multiple numbers(cell, phone), and when you click on that person it calls the primary number, but last night i found that if you click the actual name of the contact(right under the actual pic) a detail properties pop up for that contact and from there you can callsmsemail the person via other numbers.now back to looking for more cool things

May 25, 2010I set up a family group in "people". When I send an MMS pic to the group it ends up sending it to all their email addresses instead of their mobile numbers. Everything looks right in their contact info and it seems like it should be defaulting to their mobile number when you add them within the "messaging" app.
It works fine when I add everyone manually since it asks me if I want to send to their mobile number or their email. I just want it to default to their mobile numbers if I am working within the messaging app. It's not a deal breaker but kinda annoying since we all send each other pics all the time and having a group set up to do it was actually really easy on my old Windows 6.1.

Assume I have a contact entry "John Doe" with both a Mobile and a Home number.
When I speak "John Doe", if the dialer can't correctly pinpoint the contact name (eg: "John Doe" vs "Jane Doe"), then it correctly shows me all of the numbers for both people. However, if it correctly matches to the exact name ("John Doe"), then it shows me only the primary number for "John Doe".
It doesn't matter whether I say "Call John Doe", "Call John Doe at Home", or "Call John Doe on Mobile". In all cases I just get a single number offered.
HTC Incredible :: Notification Bar With Froyo No Longer Have Numbers Over Them / Fix It?

Aug 26, 2010After one of the recent handcent updates, I entered a number to send a text message. This number was not in my contacts. I entered the number, and it changed the number at the top to a persons name, who isn't in my contacts, and does not have the same number. They are my friend on facebook however. Is handcent linking with facebook? How do I turn this off? It's telling me this conversation is with the wrong person as of now, and I don't know if it's even sending to the right number.
