View 2 RepliesHow do I view sent/deleted text messages after I've removed the conversation from the "inbox"?
View 9 Replies View RelatedWas just using my phone and they were all gone. Twice in the same day.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI JUST went to my texts to find an address (for Christmas cards) and to my astonishment ALL of my texts have been deleted EVEN the ones I previously locked?!!
I turned off my phone, then turned it back on and they are ALL still gone! Is there anything I can do to recover my old text messages? Some of them were very important...
Is there a reliable program I can use to back up the more important text messages I get in the future (say all texts from a specific contact)?
To add more info to this, I did not have delete old messages when limit is reached check. I had thousands of messages in my inbox before the deletion.
This is really annoying, what good is a phone that can't reliably store text messages?? As I said before I had several very important locked messages that are now gone as well.
I am no newcomer to the HTC Droid Eris. Just recently my phone has deleted ALL of my text messages. I do not have a limit on how many texts I can hold in my inbox. But it has deleted all of my texts atleast 5 times in the last 2 weeks.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy messages were just deleted-- except for one text that had just been received. This is the second time this has happened. I assumed the first was a fluke, but would like to know why now that it's happened again.I've got 2.2 and the phone was sitting, screen off, next to me. I received a desktop notification saying I had a text, picked up the phone, and the only message left was that one text-- all others had been deleted.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI already had about 4 messages deleted from this forum. They were serious questions that i had and some moderator is simply deleting them. Now i'm unable to get help to my issues. I have an important project that must be delivered in Feb 1st and this attitude of the moderators is delaying the project.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am looking for a way to retrieve old texts that were in my phone, that were deleted, these are VERY important texts, is there a way i can get them back, there original texts were from dec/2012 to jan/ 2013, i have called verizon, and got their "static" answer
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to view all of the attachments in a picture message rather than going back and forth from the message?
View 5 Replies View RelatedCan any of you retrieve deleted text messages or know how? I know you can retrieve them via SIM card, but there isn't one... I have a memory card reader, but if i'm right, you can only retrieve photos from the SD card? I was wondering since most of you probably know how to code that if you knew how to retrieve them a different way or could where to go or how to do it? It would be very much appreciated.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI had just sent an SMS and the phone goes black and said that HTC MMS has force closed. So I rebooted the phone go back into my messages and all of them are deleted. This has also happened once before without the force close just did it randomly after a reboot. Any way to get my messages back? Is there a way to back up my messages in case this happens again?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have checked my hotmail messages through the phone and deleted messages, however when I log into hotmail on my computer the deleted messages are still showing in my inbox as new messages. How do you get it so that if they are deleted from hotmail on your phone they are gone for good with no need to delete them again once logged in elsewhere.
View 4 Replies View RelatedDo they go to a deleted folder or do they get deleted from the phone
View 1 Replies View RelatedAccidental deleted some, is there any app or anyway to restore the messages? Even just to view them would be OK.
View 3 Replies View RelatedUsing Handcent for texts, but went into the Messages app and saw a bunch of "ghost" messages with a date of 12/31/69 (tap on the messages and they don't load). It turns out that when I receive a text it displays the correct date and time in both Handcent and Messages, but when I delete in in Handcent it goes into this "ghost" state in Messages. Has anybody else run into this?
View 5 Replies View RelatedWent to sleep with approximately 25 text threads. When I woke up and looked at my phone there were no message to be found. Everything was erased. Very strange. For the record I have the "delete old messages" unchecked.
View 5 Replies View RelatedThis app is the only app that I have found that deletes your messages without crashing the phone. You tell it to delete old messages (2 months, 1 month, 2 weeks etc) and it begins deleting. It starts with the oldest so you don't have to worry about losing recent texts. Also it shows you the progress. Over about 3 nights of leaving it on (you can cancel whenever and continue later) I deleted over 7000 texts!
View 6 Replies View RelatedSo I was using my the handcent sms app on my Droid today and all a sudden the person i was sending messages to was receiving the messages 3 times. Then all a sudden when i went back to text someone else my whole thread was gone and all my messages had been deleted. Then I try using the stock messaging app and obviously all my threads are deleted but messages send twice, any suggestions?
View 6 Replies View RelatedEvery few weeks or so my Droid keeps deleting all of my texts. No message with it or anything I just open my texts and there all gone. What the hell is causing this? I told verizon about a half dozen times and they told me that its impossible that its doing this.
View 11 Replies View RelatedSo today I went to my messages and noticed that all of my old ones were gone. I have the Delete Old Messages option off. Is there another setting somewhere that I am missing? Does it just delete all messages no matter what once it gets to a certain capacity?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI downloaded the NFL app during the preseason and then when the season started they wanted to start charging for it so I deleted. I keep getting the morning text message even thought I have Text to 4635 Stop and they just keep sending them, Does anyone know how to actually stop these messages? Its really annoying.
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy Htc Desire is deleting my text messages without me wanting it to do so. Is it my SD card it's something wrong with?
View 35 Replies View RelatedI have an Epic on Sprint.
I have the phone set to only keep 25 messages in a thread and automatically delete old messages. I have tried a hard reset. I am using the stock messaging app, but I have seen others who have the same problem with third-party apps.
PROBLEM: I delete unwanted texts and threads, but as soon as I receive a message from someone whose threads I have deleted ALL (I mean ALL) of my deleted text messages come back. Let me be clear, when I say ALL I mean every text message I have sent to anyone comes back - the entire thread returns. Even though my thread settings are set to 25, some of these threads have thousands of messages in them.
I am not using any third party app for backup. There is a little sync symbol up by the clock while the messages return and it can take hours for the messages to all load up - oldest messages return first, so I cannot read new texts until the process is finished. There appears to be no way to stop the sync either. I have to wait it out.
This is my second Android phone and the fifth Android I have had in my family. Everyone of them has had bizzarre problems like this. Every time I complain out loud, my wife just says, "My iPhone doesn't do that."
I tried the steps above, and it didn't work. I then compared it to the steps on the other link, and there it says to do mtdblock4, not mtdblock3
So I typed mtdblock4 instead, and I rebooted from the adb shell in the computer.
The boot animation went fine, and then when I got to my homescreen, I freaked out!
It is all black. Instead of the unlock button, there is a green button with an airplane symbol on it. It says NO SERVICE.
The bar IS transparent, but it has these weird symbols on it, not the normal ones.
AND, to make it worse, EVERYTHING is force closing. I'm getting messages after messages of force closing. NOTHING works.
I can't even pull down the notification bar to get mount my sdcard in order to delete the .apk file from there. All these stupid force close messages keep propping up.
Also, it says that the date is Wednesday, December 31 (the 31 is a thursday, though), and it has a time of 6 hours from now.
NOW,
I am actually still in debugging mode, and I still have access to adb shell.
IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO? I'M FREAKING OUT HERE!
(Why oh why did I have to root my beautiful Droid! I think I killed it!)
I want to design a mobile application/tool for recovering deleted messages/pictures/files from the phone. I have the choice to do that using Android or Symbian. what do you think is more easier provided that I have to use some operating system concepts to solve the problem and recover deleted messages. Also what are the concepts that I can use for recovery ?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have had a Sprint HTC Hero for a while and I absolutely love it, but when my messages get over only a couple 100 or even less, I will be sending a message or reading one and the messages app will force close and then when I come back to my messages, they are all deleted. I also often have to restart the phone just to get the messages to work again. At first I just thought of this as a way the hero refreshes itself, but I have been missing things and losing messages all the time lately and it is bothering me.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs anyone else having any problems where your mail doesn't sync properly to and from Hotmail when messages are deleted? Any suggestions?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI am very disappointed with all my inbox messages deleted & moved to trash! ,, & am shocked to have not found a reasonable justification to this, whether on Google Support Forum or here on Android's.Ever since I used the E-mail application on my Android [v 1.6] Sony Ericsson - Xperia - X10 phone, all my Email messages moved to trash & God only knows if something is forever gone.It even changed the filters & their settings. The problem is common among other users but the causes are different. Why would IMAP do this? why isn't anyone justifying this?I demand an 'undo' for all this & a justification. In God's name, I am not going to fix this manually, am I? If so, this is an incredible huge waste.
View 3 Replies View Relatedi had to turn off the settings for the Mobile Networks MMS and data because it automatically connects to my provider and I am being charged and this usually happens when I touch on Timescape. I just dont know if its connected though but after doing so, after sometime my Messaging system prompts me up a message saying that there was an error (android.system.mms) and it needs to fore close and then after that all of my messages were automatically deleted including the message updates in the splines. I already went to the Service Center and the only thing they told me was it will be okay once I have updated to the new version which is the 2.1.
