I realized yesterday that I'm killing my battery life by having my Droid sliding open while in my pocket. I never really paid attention to it, the sliding open never really bothered me, until I realized that basically my phone was sliding open, coming on, then closing, then opening again. Does anyone use a case that keeps it from opening?

My keyboard is constantly sliding out when in my pocket or other times when I don't want it to. Really annoying. I like the phone but am not sold on the quality of it at all. I think I am taking it back and waiting for the passion.

Just bought my wife her first Android phone, an original Droid (A855). Seems they're on sale everyhwere since the release of the X. Anyway, she absolutely HATES that Motoblur green side-pulling tab thing for answering a phone call. She just can't seem to get the hang of it. Is there some way to change that, or is there an app available that will change the interface and just give her a simple button to push for answering a call?

I know I will more than likely not find what I am looking for because the slide out keyboard is a selling point for this phone, but mine keeps sliding out in my pocket and I am concerned that the open portion of the keyboard might bend, flex or crack if it is bent the wrong way. Maybe I am being paranoid, but it never hurts to be preventative

View 42 Replies View RelatedLately when I open a contact the phone freezes up as soon as it gets to the screen where it lists all my options for that particular contact (call, text, etc...). It makes no difference whether I search for the contact in the Google bar (which I enabled), if I open them from my "Starred Contacts" folder, or if I open them directly from the contacts list... no difference.
It doesn't happen every time but i'd say it's about 70% of the time, which is very frustrating. The phone locks up for probably about ten to fifteen seconds and then asks if I want to F/C or wait, if I click wait then everything is back to normal and i'm good to go.
Now since yesterday I have installed Beautiful Widgets (which I have heard nothing but good things about), Home++ and Better Keyboard. All of those apps seem to be reliable and not only that but i've actually gone through and removed all apps I didn't really need just to see if possibly one of them was causing the problem.
Long story short; got my wife a incredible yesterday, I was at work and she sent me a few pics of our son received them fine. Today she tried sending me pics of our newborn nephew while I was at work and everytime id receive this message "download of message(no subject) was not successful" I had her delete the most recent apps she had downloaded and restart her phone and still same issue.
I had my friends send me picture messages n I received them fine.
I can't seem to avoid pressing the volume/camera buttons as I'm taking the Droid out of my pants or jacket pockets. Has anyone found a way to disable this behavior?

I found this out cause i will eventually get a notice that says "cant open anymore windows". Its only this one site that does it so far. Its not a chance occurence either as it ALWAYS does it.

For some reason my droid likes to power on in my pocket (I think its the screen sliding open/closed causing this). As I use the unlock pattern, it seems the emergency dial function is too prominent on the screen and almost every time I'll hear my phone using the emergency dialer when the phone presses against my leg while walking.Does anyone know if there's a planned fix or already released fix that can make the emergency dialer also a 'slide to activate' like answering a phone call or possibly reduce the emergency dial button in size considerably? As I've pretty much given up on Motorola providing much in the way of Droid updates at this point, esp since they appear to be ditching android slowly I'd be willing to root for this functionality.

These aren't even apps I use, like a Sudoku game I haven't tried once yet. I'm not too worried about it, since performance seems to be fine, but I'm wondering if this will affect battery life.

I need a "girly" case like the Liz Clairborne ones on the VZ website that has a little loop handle and a zip pocket in the back. This would be something I would slide the phone in and out of as needed.
EDITED TO ADD: Something without a magnetic closure, since that seems to be an issue.
So the phone declines the call when you drag up, and I keep my phone power button down so I can have my index finger on the button when I pull it out of my pocket. Is there a way to change the drag up to decline?

I carry my phone in my pants pocket and all day long it will intermittently sound a triple note. I take the phone out, turn it on and nothing...no notifications, no calls, nothing. I try pressing everywhere on the phone, power on/off switch, volume rocker, all around the phone front, back, sides, top, bottom and every combination I can think of but I can't duplicate the sounds. Also, the sound is unlike any that I can find on the phone Anyone have any ideas about what to do? Much as I love the SF, if this continues, it will be returned!

This seems to happen regularly. The calls are always to the person who last called me. It seems the phone is rubbing against my leg and answering the call. Obviously locking the phone does not help, since you can answer a call without unlocking the phone. From the hierarchy viewer I can see that they use a custom control for this. I'm looking for a way to achieve the same effect. I want a buttonbar on the bottom of my app with a movable selector which I can drag from left to right and back, thereby selecting the different tabs.
Can anyone give some tips on how I might achieve this? Which layout controls could I use for this purpose? I know how to create the tabs and the button bar, but I'm a bit puzzled on the sliding selector.
I currently have an Eris and am looking at the Incredible. My Eris is very prone to pocket dial and answer. Does anyone see this on the Incredible?

Has anyone found a way of modifying the call answer / reject options to avoid this situation?
