My fingers always seem to get caught or hung up on the screen when I am scrolling or touching the Eris's screen, especially when I am using Swype. Has anyone else run into this and if so what do you do to fix this?

yup thats it, I get a call talk then when its time to hang up get a black/blank screen and will not work till i slide it open ... sometimes i have to take out the battery and reset it but not as often since the upgrade

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am new to android development. I wanted to make a button on one of my activities that I can drag to slide my current activity page to the next activity page. The button will be in the center of the screen and I want to be able to press and drag it horizontally to one end of the screen while I am dragging my button I can see my current activity page moving. It is actually like when one slides on the home screen and can control the sliding depending on how far he slides his finger on the screen.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo right now I'm running the 2.3.13 leaked version (haven't upgraded to the now public 2.3.15 yet) and have Tranquility with REVOlution R2 theme installed. I guess my question is this:What's the benefit of going with the OTA upgrade vs. the leaked 2.3.15 (which I can easily upgrade to from the .13 build)?Is it worth all the hassle at this point to even consider the OTA or should I just wait it out?The other thing is I can't really tell what the difference between .13 and .15 are and if there's even any difference between the OTA and the leaked .15 build. I'm pretty content with my phone the way it is now, esp. with Tranq ROM and REVO R2 theme. I just wanted to get some opinions before I go spend another night toying with my phone. Is there even anyone here that paid for the leaked 2.3.15 and now has the OTA that may actually know if there's a (noticeable) difference between the leaked and the OTA.

I never really paid attention to it, the sliding open never really bothered me, until I realized that basically my phone was sliding open, coming on, then closing, then opening again. Anyway, she absolutely HATES that Motoblur green side-pulling tab thing for answering a phone call. She just can't seem to get the hang of it. From the hierarchy viewer I can see that they use a custom control for this. I'm looking for a way to achieve the same effect. I want a buttonbar on the bottom of my app with a movable selector which I can drag from left to right and back, thereby selecting the different tabs.
Can anyone give some tips on how I might achieve this? Which layout controls could I use for this purpose? I know how to create the tabs and the button bar, but I'm a bit puzzled on the sliding selector.
My keyboard is constantly sliding out when in my pocket or other times when I don't want it to. Really annoying. I like the phone but am not sold on the quality of it at all. I think I am taking it back and waiting for the passion.

Alright, is it just me, or does the Incredible not really have the "maxTouch" sensor that's "capable of infinite multi-touch" because my Incredible only does two fingers, even on apps that are designed for more. This affects emulator play as well, if I hit the A button and then the D-pad in that order it will mirror the direction I hit and hit B for no reason, other than to piss me off that I can't play emulators correct. Does anyone know if this is a software limitation?

I know I will more than likely not find what I am looking for because the slide out keyboard is a selling point for this phone, but mine keeps sliding out in my pocket and I am concerned that the open portion of the keyboard might bend, flex or crack if it is bent the wrong way. Maybe I am being paranoid, but it never hurts to be preventative

The android system seems a bit overwhelming, but tired of ATT and apples heavy handed way of things. I dont mind the wait for the phone, using an old blackjack 2 pre paid till it comes i. Guess this will be around 6/13 or so.
Ill admit Im nervous leaving something I know to Android. Will I enjoy this if I dont root ( or jailbreak in iphone terms?). Never been a fan of doing anything to my phone that could hinder my warranty or getting help from the tech people of the phone. Im not the most tech savvy person. Ill keep reading these forums and ones like ti to try to learn. Any hints or tips be great. Also, how nice does android play with Mac-book Pro? My 2 laptops are both macs, but do have boot-camp on one if its needed for this phone.
I'm developing an Android application with OpenGL and JNI (all OpenGL stuff is in C code).
Imagine I've drawn a cube. I want that user can push his finger over the cube and can rotate the cube and move it around the screen.
Is there any way to do that?
How can assign an event listener to touch and move events only when the user touch the cube?
UPDATE I want something like this: Rotate cube with fingers.
This morning my alarm started unexpectedly at 6am. The lock screen turned into the snooze/stop screen. Dragging down didn't stop it it.. It came on every ten minutes for the next hour. My alarms were set to 9:45am and 8:30pm as usual. Even turning the phone off and on didn't stop the beeping. It was my 9:45am ringtone even. (The two are set differently)
Anyone else see anything like this? I'm on OTA 2.1
This is driving me crazy. The phone is pretty much useless when this starts happening. I will be on the Main home screen and then it will start jumping Home screens as if I'm swiping to the left but I'm NOT swiping! Once it is on the last screen to the left it won't let me switch back to HOME. I can almost never do anything when this happens. I haven't dropped the phone. I've reset the G-Sensor. Has anyone experianced this? I've even done a Wipe of the device.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo through a weird assortment of events i managed to crack the screen on my Eris. But this is the trippy part, I didnt break the glass but the touch sensors underneath. So now i am unable to use the menu or home buttons and the entire left part of my screen and more. I am unable to unlock my device in anyway that i know(menu button, the slider). Is there any other way to unlock it? I now have 11 unread texts and 4 voicemails that I desperately want to view. Oh and I know some of you won't be happy about what I'm about to say but.... I took the leap to the moto droid. I had the chance to get it on a 1 year because I didnt get insurance and I went for it. I will really miss my Eris but the keyboard lag was just killing me.

This gets really annoying when using apps that require such actions. Anyone else having this issue or know what I'm doing wrong. Maybe an app that's causing it.
