A few times, when I've received a call when my phone's been in my pocket, I've accidentally rejected the call when removing the phone from my pocket i.e. I've inadvertently made the screen gesture that cancels the call. Has anyone found a way of modifying the call answer / reject options to avoid this situation?

I use Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro MK16I. (Rooted, Bootloader unlocked).
Recently I had issues syncing contacts with Google, Fb etc and I had to do a factory reset of the phone. Since then I've following issues so far.
1. Incoming calls are getting rejected automatically
2. Silent, Flight mode are missing when I press the power button
3. When I'm in some application and if I press the Menu/Home button, it does not take me to the home screen and nothing happens
4. Windows can't detect or install the drivers for the phone, even if I do it through the 3rd party sources windows still doesn't show it.
Well it's 1am, I've taken my phone from my pocket and found that the screen is on and it's two minutes into a call to a friend of mine who called me earlier in the evening! This seems to happen regularly. The calls are always to the person who last called me. I think it happens when I've been playing with the phone and put it back in my pocket having forgot to turn the screen off first. Does anyone have any solutions before my friends start blocking my number?

View 15 Replies View RelatedI've experienced the problem that when the desire is in my pocket and I receive a notification, the screen gets accidentally unlocked and the phone starts doing things that I don't want it to do. I know I can add an unlock pattern so that it won't unlock as easily but this is at the expense of me having to enter it even in situations I would not have needed it. So I thought that maybe we could use the proximity sensor to tell the phone to never unlock the screen if an object is close to the phone. Quickly looking at the android docs, it seems that the support for this is in the SDK, but I was wondering if anyone had created an application that does this. If time permits, I might even have a look at doing it myself, but as I'm very new to Android development, it will take me quite a long time to get to a usable state, hence my question about an existing app that does this.
View 49 Replies View RelatedI don't know what to do. I tried to make a call this morning and it kept disconnecting, even though it was showing signal. So I decided to turn it off. This took over 15mins. Finally it went off. I switched it back on to find it will only make Emergency calls and I don't know why.
I've turned it off multiple times now, even taken the battery out etc and nothing works. Its been very slow the last couple of days, and frozen a couple of times. I've only had the phone 3 weeks from new (T-Mobile!)
I have had my desire HD for a week and although very impressed it started to shut down prematurely even during phone calls, I did a factory data reset and all was well for a day then started shutting down again for no reason. Has anybody experienced the same thing and is there affix or do I need to send it back?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI used my phone with no problem yesterday (made and received calls), then went to sleep and charged my phone overnight. When I woke up this morning, I tried to make a call and just got "this number is not in use", thought it was something to do with that persons number. Tried to call some other numbers and always got the same thing. I asked my brother to call me and it just went straight to voicemail. Then, when I opened "Phone" I noticed that there was something wrong with my last few calls made. Phone numbers here in Iceland are 7 letters, for example 1234567.. but all the recent calls I made looked like 6171234567, that 617 always got added before the number I tried to call and that made it fail. I only see 1234567 when trying to make the call, when I look at the phone while listening to "This number is not in use", I never see that 617 until I've hung up and check the call log. I did try to call +3541234567 though (354 being the Icelandic country code) and that went through fine. But if I don't use it, the 617 gets added. Has anyone ever experienced this problem? I thought it might be some setting so automatically add a country/area code before a number or something like that, but didn't find anything in settings.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm on O2 UK and if my wife rings me from her O2 mobile or from our home landline my Desire doesn't ring but shows the missed call icon in the notification area. what happens on the phone you ring from i.e my wife�s mobile or our landline all you here is 2 short rings then the phone goes dead.I only have wifi switched on and not the mobile network.that is to say I don't have the 'mobile network' option ticked in 'wireless & networks' screen. View 2 Replies View RelatedI installed VoiceSearch_2.1 and HTC_IME mod successfully. The voice to text works great! However I can't seem to make the Phone Call functionality work. When I long press the search button and use the command "Call <name>" where <name> is someone in my list of contacts (People) e.g. "Call Home" it recognises the words correctly but all it does is bring up a result screen from a Google Web Search. Am I doing something stupid?

But once I'm in a call, the standby button will not turn the screen on, and no matter how many times I button mash all the soft keys, I get no response. However if my phone is feeling good, it'll show me the screen for a split second before hiding it again! This is a huge problem, I have no idea what the problem could be, as the standby button works fine when not in a call.. Anyone know what would be the reason? (Keep in mind, my HTC is literally a day old in my hands).

Every time I start my app within Eclipse it gets installed on my Galaxy Nexus and the LogCat window show some output. So far so good. But suddenly ADB stops writing messages and the "Console" windows shows a lot of messages like:

From now on the ADB does not output messages any longer. I have to reconnect my Galaxy Nexus to my USB-Port to restart the debugging.
And some messages I generate by using "System.out.println();" are never displayed also!
My onCreate() method looks like

Dumb-ass question from me...how do I remove a bookmark from my Desire?Tried pressing down and waiting for the bin to appear, but it just wants to ditch the whole-lot of 'em.There are one or two in there from T-mobile and at least one I've done wrong, but can't seem to shift them.

I have just received my second Galaxy handset as replacement from O2 after returning the first with what appeared to be some sort of hardware fault that caused calls to be rejected before pickup quite often just at the moment of touching the phone! I was quite happy with O2 and the way they dealt with the situation and couldn't wait for the new unit but sadly it has arrived with the very same issues as the last one and O2 are again confident that its a hardware fault and now want me to choose some other phone!
View 49 Replies View RelatedI was running Android 4.4, rooted and CWM installed. Got a notification for 4.4.2 update being ready (like, a week after upgrading to 4.4), and tapped it. Phone reboots into debug mode to install it, but then CWM starts yelling at me saying this zip I'm trying to install is unsigned.
So I stop the upgrade. Phone reboots back into Android 4.4 and I don't get the update notification icon again.
Two questions:
- will I get the update prompt again? if not, can I do it manually while keeping all my stuff like happened on the 4.4 upgrade?
- is the Android 4.4.2 update really unsigned? is there a danger in accepting it?
I'm not sure what to do now since I didn't have CWM flashed when I did the upgrade to 4.4, which went completely smooth.
is there anyway of removing pre installed apps like the weather of google talk?

I take the phone out, turn it on and nothing...no notifications, no calls, nothing. I try pressing everywhere on the phone, power on/off switch, volume rocker, all around the phone front, back, sides, top, bottom and every combination I can think of but I can't duplicate the sounds. Also, the sound is unlike any that I can find on the phone Anyone have any ideas about what to do? Much as I love the SF, if this continues, it will be returned!

When i press the debug logo, it installs on my device successfully, however i get this message constantly from the ADB Log (DDMS): "DeviceMonitor: Adb rejected connection to client '19322': closed" thus i cannot debug.
I have tried rebooting PC and rebooting device several times.I'm running Avast AntiTheft which has an option to prevent USB debugging, but that one is disabled.
