Aug 17, 2010I know I am going to be embarrassed by this, but how do I just turn it off.I downloaded a ringtone from Mabilo sounds it was fee, but now I cant figure out how to turn it off.When I go into settings and notification ringtones, its not there.Even if it were and I could uncheck it, there is no option for no notification at all. Wat am I missing?

I downloaded AudioManager, and it looks like there are separate volume levels for alerts and ringer, but they seem to be linked. Right now, if I have my volume set high enough to hear incoming calls, I jump out of my seat every few minutes when I get an email or text.

I guess I could just create an .mp3 with 1 second of silence, but is there I could have sworn I saw a "silent" tone for each in the list before, but it's not there now.

Jan 14, 2010I have a work email pop3, is not a g mail account. Well, i have putted to be notified in 1 hour if i have new emails the problem is the phone didn't check the emails and didn't have the notifications. only if i enter on the "Mail" application i have the new emails.. if i didn't enter, this didn't check the emails. What is the problem?. I have APN droid installed and i have deactivated the 3g 2g gaps. But i have configuration the WIFI to stay connected always.

Feb 16, 2010Over the past week or 2, several times now, I'll get a series of email notifications (sometimes as many as 10 or so, a few seconds apart), but then there won't be any messages. I'll check later, but still nothing.
I have a POP, gmail and an exchange account.
I'll also sometimes have POP email keep coming back, sometimes 5+ times, after deleting it every time. It may be 30 minutes later, or hours later.
Motorola Droid X :: No Notification Of New Email?
Jul 16, 2010I got the X synced with my Exchange server just fine. The problem is that I'm not getting a notification whenever I get a new email. I have to go into the Email app to see if anythings come through. I have it set to give me an audible alert and that's not working either. This will be a real deal breaker if I can't get it fixed.

The problem is, it will only alert me to the first email, and if I do not check it, it will not alert me for subsequent emails. While I realize the rationale behind this, I really like how my BB tells me every time I get an email. Anyone have an idea on how to enable this?

Jun 27, 2010so i am using the stock android email app and recently whenever i delete an email and exit from the application i get a notification that i have a new email, but when i go back into the email application there is no new email. i have tested it out and say i delete 3 emails, i will receive a notification saying that i have 3 new emails. the notification will always show the number of emails i have just deleted even though there are no new emails. the emails do not reappear like other people have problems with. i think my phones just playin mind games with me
just wondering if anyone else had this issue and if k9 email could fix this.
ps: it is an aol email account, if that matters

But when I am in Settings for Notification Ringtones, I do not see the mp3 I added but only in Calling Ringtones. Why is this? I want to use the same ringtone for notifications too!.

Oct 15, 2010When you get a new email, is there a way to show on the notification bar that you have a "New Email" WITHOUT showing a preview of it? The reason I ask is because I use App Protector to make my email private but it still shows a brief preview when a new email arrives. I still want to be notified when there is a new email and have the blinking notification light. I thought about asking here before emailing the developer for that particular app.

Dec 9, 2009When I get a new email on gmail, I pull down the notification drop down, select the email then view the email, and out of habit or ease of use, I hit the home button ...because it just makes sense that if I don't need to respond that I want to go back to the home screen directly. Why in the hell does the stupid notification not go away until I check the email 2 times.the only way the notification goes away is if when I select the email to check, I have to hit the back button which takes me back to the email list then either hit back again or home.

Aug 3, 2010I use my verizon email on my droid, and would like to know how to turn off the notification sound. It will tell me that I have new email; if I don't read or delete all the new ones, it will keep reminding me every minute or so. Is there a way to turn of this notification sound? Sep 28, 2010Its not really a problem then an annoyance..does anyone know how I can make it so that when I receive a txt or an email and I open it in another way then the notification bar that my droid notification led will stop blink and the notifications will disappear from the disappearing notification bar? I'm just try to stop the fact that I have to go into LPP settings, make my bar re-appear, erase notifications, then make it so the bar disappears again.

Oct 6, 2010This seems to be because of 2.2, it didn't do it before the update. I have it set to "face book pop" but after awhile it goes back to "droid". It's not that big a deal but it sure is annoying. That "droid" tone was neat for like five minutes then got on my nerves so I changed to the more subdued noise. I wonder if anyone else is having this issue or maybe I'm doing something wrong.

Aug 18, 2010My fiance upgraded from LG Voyager to Droid 2. She wanted her old ringtones from the Verizon Media store so she downloaded them. When she stored them they were given default names. I was able to make the appropriate ringtone associations, except for voicemail. I have 2 questions:
1. How do you set a ringtone for voicemail? When I run the standard voicemail app (Verizon) I cannot being up a menu.

Nov 18, 2009I have a question regarding the mail feature of the Droid. I have three accounts setup. One Gmail, one Yahoo and one Hotmail (yep...I like all flavors).
I can send and receive mail without issue but for some reason with the Yahoo and the Hotmail account, the Droid will seem to pull "old" email back onto the device and mark it as new and light up the indicator. This gives then shows that I have new mail but it really isn't new but it is old, previously read email that has been deleted and pulled back onto the device.

Sep 13, 2010I have downloaded a bunch of email notification tones from Zedge to use with my email, I got into the settings, set the right tone to be used, then go out of the settings. The problem is that if I go back into the settings it defaults back to the "Droid" tone and does not keep the one I want.
