View 8 RepliesI spent an hour on the phone with a Verizon CSR and he could not get wifi to work on my DX, so he said they will send a new replacement on 8/3.He instructed me to do a factory reset, so it looks like I lost all my data. I really wish I would have backed up my contacts, but he said they would sync back up within an hour. I hope he's right because I don't want to bluetooth them again ONE BY ONE. Can anybody confirm the gmail sync? I lost all my texts and apps too. I'm pretty sure I read that if I had used appbrain I wouldn't have lost all my apps. But, I don't know if there's a way to back up texts.
View 11 Replies View RelatedLooks like I have a dead pixel issue on my camera.. when I get a replacement, can that transfer all my settings and everything over, or do I need to downbload and install and setup everything all over again? I'm using launcher pro, and setting up all 7 home pages again takes a LOT of time.
View 5 Replies View RelatedHas anybody had this issue? I am unable to restore the majority of my apps with TiBu, it starts to restore then freezes and reboots the phone. Any suggestions?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have the root app Titanium Backup. When I root my friends' phones, I like giving them all my root apps with a quick transfer of my SD card app backups from AppControl.
BUT, I have never been able to find the backup file for Titanium Backup. I realize they can just download it from the Market, but where I work I get no service so I can't download it for hours for them.
Does AppControl or even Titanium Backup itself actually back up Titanium Backup? It seems almost like they skip over the APK because I can never find any backed up APK files that have the words "Titanium" or "Backup" in it. I've never been able to find the file!
I finally got around to getting 2.2 (after having to watch my phone in a bootloop all day since i was in meetings all day). i kept root. all of my other root apps work (shoot me, root explorer, autokiller, etc...) except titanium backup. ti backup says it cant verify root. everything is running like a top, except the one app i REALLY wanna get up and running. anyone come across this or have any ideas? i'm sure its something really simple i'm not thinking of.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWell first of all I jumped in and deodexed and themed my phone before I did a backup, is there any way to undo it? How many backups can you have with titanium, as many as you want? why do people "freeze" the backups?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm looking at buying this. in the description it says the following PRO license key, needs Titanium Backup 3.5.3 or later. Does this mean I need to download something first?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI just installed TB yesterday and noticed today that it didnot backup all items. I am having to manually go in and back some up. Cant seem to find a setting to backup all.
View 2 Replies View RelatedOK so before i switched roms i didnt back up my apps to titanium. so my ? is how can i get all my apps back if its possible? should they be backed up some other way i dont know about that i can get them back?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was using Fab's NexTheme R2 and updated to R3 without formatting and figured it would be fine, and it was for a while but then started to get laggy. So I decided to backup my apps with titanium and update to R3 from fresh, formatting DATA, SYSTEM, and CACHE.
Well when I restored my apps not all of them did. So I verified my backups and there were errors. Luckily I had an R2 nandroid backup so I went to that and updated to R3 again as before.
But I would still like to install R3 fresh but every time I run Titanium Backup and then verify my apps they all or most atleast come up saying there was an error. I clicked the "problems?" button and busybox should be ok so idk what to do.
Which backup method is better Nandroid or Titanium backup? I was following a guide for Nandroid but when I use DroidRootTools and try and download the tools I get an error saying the file type is not supported. So I get Titanium Backup. Which one is better? Should I try and find a way to setup Nandroid?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI just rooted my phone and Titanium backup says that it can't acquire root access. I know I am rooted because the superuser icon is there and I can use wireless tether with no problem.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have lost titanium backup and I cant find it in the market. It also says i have no downloaded market apps. It worked before in bb.4 and my phone says apps restored.
View 2 Replies View RelatedTrying to learn all I can about the Rooted Droid. I've tried a couple of great ROMS, but each time I download and install a new one, I'm following the instructions and wiping everything. Although I thought I'd backed up appropriately with Titanium, my contacts always revert back to when I first bought the phone - they obviously didn't get backed up. Am I just missing something in Titanium, or is there a better way to save contacts and things like that? Also, are all of you literally starting from scratch each time you reboot with a new ROM - i.e. Are you literally having to start the "Welcome to the Droid", signin to Gmail, etc. screens or am I the only one?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI just flashed a cyanogen rom, and i'm trying to use Ti Backup to restore my apps and data. However, for every app that Ti backup attempts to installs, I have to confirm that I want to install the app, as if I was installing it from the market for the first time.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have the licensed version installed. I see no option to freeze an app, just Delete or Uninstall.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter performing a factory reset (which by the way did NOT require me to reactivate my phone, idk why) I reinstalled Tibu first to reinstall my apps and it tells me I have 0 backed up apps, even thought they are there on my sdcard in the TitaniumBackup folder.
View 8 Replies View RelatedSo I did a batch backup with Titanium and when I went to restore on a new ROM I was trying (first time I'm trying this), when restoring all of the apps, it didn't do it automatically? Like I was reloading a bunch of apps, and it prompted me for EACH APP. Is there a way to just press restore on a batch I backed up, and it just puts everything on the phone that I selected? It took a long time sitting there and pressing ok after each app.
View 9 Replies View RelatedRunning the OTA 2.2 and I am rooted. I use ADW with with the Sense skin. I am going to do a factory reset of my phone and want to return it to the state it is currently in including all apps, app info (like game saves, etc), contacts, text history, pictures, etc. What is the proper protocol to get my phone back to the state it is in now? I have taken screenshots of my 7 homecreens already. I do not want to lose any of my game save info (for tower raiders for instance) nor my text message history. Will TB back all that up and restore? Is it necessary to reformat the SD card also? And if so, should I make a separate backup of the SD card to my PC before reformatting it? ottom line: Does TB do a comprehensive enough backup to get my phone back to the state it is in now or are there other measures one should take before doing a factory reset.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was thinking about rooting with the droid 2 method. After that I'm unclear what is the safest method.
1. Run Titanium backup
2. Koush's bootstrap recovery
3. install rom manager
4. flash a theme (which is the main reason i want root)
Is that my safest, most recoverable (is that a word) method? Or what should i do after root to be the most safe from bricking my phone?
I just flashed Pete's latest ESE53 BB and cannot restore any of my apps and data with Titanium Backup. I get the error "there is a problem parsing the data". I have already tried to chmod 755 /system/xbin/busybox and still no go. Does anyone have any ideas before I go back to my BB 0.7.8 nandroid backup?
View 11 Replies View RelatedHow come there are certain apps that will not allow me to restore even though I have a valid backup for it. For example I have the HTC_IME with a valid backup but when I click in within TB my only option is to delete the backup file, no restore available. There are other apps like that as well.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAs the topic states. Is it really worth it for the donation functionality? I've seen conflicting reports on whether restoring stuff from TiBu causes issues or not.
At the moment, the only feature I find would be highly useful is the App freezing since I want to compare ADW and LP without having to have both running at the same time.
I made a backup on titaniumbackup before I started the 2.2 upgrade process. I flashed with the SBF back to 2.1 than rooted with Universal Androot, than upgraded to 2.2
Now that 2.2 is up and running can I use Titanium to get all my apps, wallpapers, ect. back?
I've tried running Titaniumbackup and it tells me that I need BusyBox...I install busybox but I get an error with SU permissions it seems.
Rooting and Titanium backup so wanted to throw that out to you all.
Anyway, I was messing with freezing stuff in Titanium backup, and I wanted to freeze the VZW Backup Assistant. It worked, but in the process when I rebooted the phone, all of my contacts were gone.
Now in Titanium, there are two versions appearing. 1.0 and 2.2. (I froze both). When I defrosted them and rebooted the phone, the backup app came back. When I tried to sync (thinking it will pull whatever I had in my Verizon account, it did not). I guess it just syncs what you have on the phone vs. pulling down when you have online.
Anyway, just logged into my VZW account and all my contacts are indeed gone.
Now, is there something hidden somewhere in the phone where I can get them back? A file or something?
If not then...
I have my Droid Incredible (not activated at the moment) with all of my contacts. Is there a file or way to export that data from my Incredible and import it back into my X?
If you need any more questions answered please let me know. Worst case scenario is I have to manually add them all back. I chalk it up as a learning experience.
Used titanium and now I lost all my home screens. All my apps are there, no phone either.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a question regarding restoring data after flashing to a new ROM (Bugless Beast) via a nandroid backup. I know I have the update.zip option, but that seems to introduce issues for some that I want to avoid. Now, I know I have a few options. I can batch backup apps and data with Titanium Backup, then wipe, install the new build, and then restore via Titanium. Or, I can do a nandroid backup of my phone, wipe, install the new build, and then restore only the data partition of my first backup. My question is, are either of these methods any different from just using the update.zip version of BB? For example, when I upgraded from BB .7.8 to 1.0, I lost root and had to do a full wipe and I just manually reinstalled everything. Will doing the data partition restore or titanium backup restore result in the same issues?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been rooting my phone for about a month now, and I'm currently running Kangerade 5.0.9 (great job Jrummy) but I have a quick question about Titanium Backup. I have a feeling you will all be hesitant to answer, but Im going to ask anyway. Note I have no intentions of stealing here, Im just curious to see if this is a bug.
If I purchase a paid application from the market, back it up, and then refund the application, would titanium backup be able to restore it?
