I've recently been receiving SMS message from 6245 (I know - it's "MAIL" on the keypad) that says: "//BREW:0X0106DCC7:UPDCHK:MajorVersion:4.0.07.04*END".
Is anyone else receiving this, or know what it is? I received 3 of these today, and about 5 over the last several days. It seems to have happened after installing Trapster. I don't see anything on their forum that gives me any clues.

During the first couple of weeks, back in June, when I received my Incredible I was receiving text messages from the same individual or something whom I don't know. The messages looked like this: 4756://BREW:0108f3d4:GCD. After a while I stopped receiving them. Now tonight I received another one. Does anybody know anything about this or has anyone else received these messages?
View 5 Replies View RelatedJust the other day i did a factory reset/themed (revolution)/and added the build.prop last night. well now i am receiving the same text message twice in a row. i restarted the phone and did a back from the other day so that should not have the build prop on it but it is still doing the double text. have any of you had this problem? and is there a way to get rid of the theme othe than another factory reset?

I leave the phone sitting on my desk and I miss messages all the time because the phone doesn't kick on and I have the volume turned all the way down or off. But if the phone would light up, I would notice that.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if 2.1 still had the following bugs/problems that myself, and a lot of people seem to encounter with 1.5, or if it's phone specific not OS specific.
1. Problems receiving picture messages. Specifically receiving a message saying "Message not downloaded. Retransmission scheduled for XX:XX", even if you click "Download" button multiple times.
2. When receiving a text message longer than 160 characters, you get a message saying "The preceding messages modified. Media objects removed." and the sender gets a message saying that you do not support enhanced messaging service, even though you DO actually receive the entire message. I know the Incredible doesn't have this problem, but the Eris does.
My environment is:
1 Exchange Account - Push
1 IMAP (Gmail) - 2 hourly
1 POP (Hotmail) - Once daily
My issue is that I am receiving alerts for the same new mail repeatedly. Here's the gist:
11:50 - New mail hits my inbox.
12:00 - I receive a notification of the new email.
12:05 - I check my inbox, but choose not to open the email at this time.
14:00 - I get a notification of a 'new' email, yet on checking it's the one received at 11:50, but still haven't opened.
15:00 - Rinse and repeat. Now, I'm not sure how many times this is happening, or even if it's everytime, but there's something definitely glitchy with mail notifications.Has anybody else noticed similar behaviour? If not I may try removing/adding my accounts back in again.
I am on my third exchanged phone for a variety of reasons I have a 41/09 device that is repeatedly crashing whenever I try to compose an email with the native gmail app.I have duplicated it over and over again. There is a lot of debate as to whether these crashing phones are experiencing a hardware or a software problem.This seems like a software problem, and could be related to how the new 2.0 OS deals with memory, etc.I would like to think that an software update would fix it.There is no doubt that Verizon and Google are aware of the high number of phones that crash software.I bought my phone at Walmart, and they are about done with my replacement requests. My store and the next closest store who sells Verizon is out of the Droid.

Then started back up. when I got to my home screen, it reset itself. When I got to the home screen again, very shortly (less than 10 seconds) it reset itself again! And repeated this over and over. It never stopped! I can not even use my Droid!

I know there's a setting to disable this feature under normal circumstances but i like having my sent copies saved and was hoping that this update will correct this issue.

It doesn't seem to matter what the source email is (gmail, hotmail, etc). Some emails are ok some are not. Anyone else have this problem? Any fixes?

I have 2 aol accounts set up to my Fascinate. I am not receiving my new message notification? I only know if I have an email when I go into the account and refresh. I have it set to check every 5 minutes but it doesn't?

I haven't seen any threads mentioning this so I'm assuming it's just me, but I'm hoping others have experienced this and may know a fix. I go to Menu>Settings>Accounts & Sync>Add acount>Facebook for HTC Sense, I enter in my e-mail and password and receive the following message: "The service is currently unavailable. Do you want to try again?" I select Yes but it just keeps popping up and has done so for the last four days. Does anyone know a fix for this? I've tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling. I called Sprint and they suggested I reset the phone which is not something I want to do.

View 2 Replies View Relatedokay so i downloaded skype mobile and it download but got stuck on the installing screen so i turned the phone off and back on and now it just is stuck in this endless loop of turning off and on. i tried holding down the volume up key while pressing the end call button to do a reset and it just says "cache error". any ideas? maybe skype gave me a virus?

It will stop working out of the blue and start back up. The only reason I know that it stops is because the person I am texting shows me that they never received a message from me and I never got one from them. My phone does not tell me I cant receive or send it just stops and I never know. When it starts working again it does not ever send the messages I didn't receive.

1) My ringer, when someone calls me, starts off quiet for a few seconds then goes to full volume. The ringtone I have doesn't do that by itself, it must be a setting. Is there a way to make it ring full volume as soon as someone calls me?
2) Is there a way to make the phone vibrate when receiving a text message either while the phone is on vibrate or on normal volume.

I checked hand cent delivery report under the hand cent settings and unchecked delivery report from carrier. I searched all the other menus and can't figure it out. I get one pop up that has a done/later/eply window and then another underneath that is bigger that has little icons(paper,mike,person,trash and volume) Is this normal behavior? Or is there a setting that I just cannot find.
