View 5 Replies View RelatedBeen trying to get the bluetooth to work with my pda net. I am having the hardest time getting the phone to connect to my windows 7 laptop. It seems like sometimes it does, but mostly doesn't connect. It will show up in my list of devices but grayed out. it says something like paired, but not connected. Or maybe its the other way around. Then, when it does appear to be connected, I cant get pda net to work properly. Any advice? Been making me crazy for several days now.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWith much headache I've gotten PdaNet to work with DroidX via Bluetooth, despite some part of the Bluetooth driver not installing correctly/missing driver component.I've got the thing to what seemed to be the connected state on my dad's laptop, because he wants to browse at work, anyway.. I think the Bluetooth connection is working, but Verizon seems to be able to tell that its a tether because it pops up that Verizon page asking me to get a payed subscription for the tethering service (the site that shows the pretty chart where they say they want $30 more) no matter what site URL I type in.Any ideas why this happens? suggestions? Is there another solution that people have confirmed working for DroidX or am I doing something wrong? Also, I read that to use the USB connection to PdaNet I had to install the PdaNet Desktop app, which I tried to but kept failing install using the Motorola and Generic driver options, but I think despite this, PdaNet seems to not work right because of that page keeps popping up asking me to purchase the HotSpot plan addon. What do you all think? Thanks for help beforehand.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm planning to buy a Droid 2 and wanted to know if I could get tethering via PDAnet? A co-worker was using her Droid 1 w/ PDANet without paying for the tether but the amount of data transferred wasn't too high. Is this still possible with Droid 2? I also plan to use the Droid 2 a lot as a GPS navigation tool while driving. Which vehicle mount do you recommend? I don't really want to use the cigarette light as a mount (rental cars have different configurations) or the windshield (easily shows that I am using a nav tool, but it is still feasible) - probably looking at the vents or the dash. Any recommendations? Finally, I heard that an anti-virus program is highly recommended. Any ideas on what to get? What other apps must I absolutely get? I'm not big on downloading movies/TV shows or even music, I just want to use the Droid 2 as a small traveling PC for access to the web and possibly use it to provide internet access for my netbook.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI love my Droid X. I downloaded PdaNet and paid for it. I received the receipt and clicked on the Pdanet tray icon and hit the register button. I wasn't smart enough to use copy and paste for the serial number and I typed it in instead. Tried three times (my typing isn't that bad) and all tries failed and the register button disappeared from the icon. I have tried to obtain help from PdaNet but no luck so far. The app is worthless to me if I can't access secure sites so I am ready to go in a different direction unless one of you can give me a suggestion for registering PdaNet.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAs a long term BB user, I was disappointed to find out I could no longer tether when I got my new Droid. The most common fix I've seen on the web seems to be PDAnet. I was wondering if anyone was already using it and how it worked? Also concerned how it will impact Vz contract?

View 5 Replies View RelatedBefore the update from 1.5, I had no issues tethering my MacBook through my Droid Eris with PDANet. The phone function of the handset was the only operation that would interrupt the signal.
Since the update, my Eris interrupts my internet frequently, without apparent reason. It begins the annoying cycle of kicking me off the web, alerting me that the phone was not ejected properly, mounting, launching iPhoto (which I cannot prevent from happening), and then I have to exit PDANet and relaunch so I can reconnect. It's a juggling act! Sometimes this cycle will repeat five or six times before the phone and computer settle down.
Does anyone have the leaked 2.1 rom and the PAID version of PDAnet working. I know that the app store does not have the paid apps available in it for the leaked version yet. I use PDAnet for internet for my netbook all the time for my business and need to know if it is still available and working on the leaked rom. Also is bluetooth tethering working now that it is 2.1?

View 14 Replies View RelatedI'm tired of the slow performance of the Motorola Bluetooth voice dialer. Now with Froyo sporting its own Bluetooth voice dialer, does anyone know if there's a way to switch to it? I am running 2.2. My biggest issue with the Motorola bluetooth voice dialer is that'll take up to 30 seconds from the time I press the dial button on my bluetooth device till it'll be ready for me to say a command. Totally unacceptable! Is my only option to go to a custom ROM?

View 21 Replies View RelatedFound a few threads about people having problems transferring their phonebook to their hands free kit in their automobile. Had the same problem myself - was able to connect and pair with the car kit. I was able to make and receive calls, but didn't have the phonebook.
Then yesterday, while setting in the car, I was going to re-pair the connection between the phone and car I noticed that in the Notification Bar that the car was asking permission to receive the phonebook from the phone. Opened the Notification and granted permission and clicked on always grant access (or something similar). Phonebook was then transfered. Haven't had a problem with it since...
Why does the phone say PAIRED BUT NOT CONNECTED? How do i connect it to the other phone. To be more specific the other phone is the ERIS. So is it even possible to send songs, pics, etc to other phones from the DROID? And can the ERIS even accept bluetooth file transfers?
View 37 Replies View RelatedHaven't seen a recent thread on this lately so I'm curious what Bluetooth headsets you guys use out there? Rate 'em 1-5, link 'em too if you can! I currently use:
-Plantronics Discovery 975 5/5
-Plantronics Discovery 925 4/5
-Aliph Jawbone2 4/5
-Plantronics Voyager 520 3/5
1. Plantronics Discovery 975. I've got 2 of these actually one for my PlayStation 3 and one for my Droid. It's the main Bluetooth headset I use these days. Sound quality is excellent. It sticks in your ear with no hoop, is comfortable to wear for long periods of time. It comes with a little leather case with a battery built in so that you can recharge the headset up to 3x when away from AC power. Has a little LCD panel to show you charge of both devices. (Infinitely easier than deciphering how many blinks equals what battery charge!) Best voice. You may see them on this seasons "24" as it's the headphone of choice at CTU
2. Plantronics Discovery 925. Earlier version of the 975. Great for call quality, battery life etc. Comes with same little case. Design is a little different but it gets the job done. No LCD screen on the case. Mainly used with my work Blackberry. Uses MicroSD charger, so you get an extra for your Droid!
3. Aliph Jawbone2. Much smaller than the original. Very tiny and chic. Great sound quality (it uses a little nub to detect vibration in your jaw to know when to isolate outside noise (using it's patented NoiseAssassin) so you could be on a crowded street and still be pretty clear. Only downsides are the battery life isn't amazing and the proprietary charger plus it only comes with a USB. (Becoming less of an issue these days as I'm starting to acquire a ton of AC USB chargers)
4. Plantronics Discovery 520. My original work Bluetooth headset. Does a decent job but is a little bulky. The ear hook makes it a bit uncomfortable to wear for long periods and not quick to get on. Has a proprietary weird shaped charging port. Battery life was average if that.
