View 5 RepliesI wanted to know if we had a Wired Tethering app, I have wireless but I am working on something and I need it to be wired. I'll post the video when I am done but I just can't see to find an app. (And pdaNEt wont work. It has to run by itself. I dont have a way to install software on the other computer.)
View 3 Replies View RelatedI was at the airport this morn. New incredible, new HP laptop. Pdanet worked the night before when installed. But while working my computer shut down randomly restarted and said it was installing updates. When it came back to life and I tried to restart the tether pdanet said the android device does not have a connection. Indeed. Whenever Ian tendering is plugged in even the browser on the phone doesn't work and 3g icon goes away.

I can find my phone under devices but it has nothing listed under device function or bluetooth services. I was able to send my phone a file from my computer via bluetooth. My phone also says under bluetooth devices it's paired but not conectected to my computer. I'm running windows 7. Anybody have any ideal?

View 49 Replies View RelatedI know this is a noobtastic question, but I have to ask. I was at a crappy hotel the other night and I used PDAnet to check email and what not. If I use the VZW tethering do I have to pay for it? Is it a one time fee like PDAnet or is it a monthly fee? If I use PDAnet am I going to pay out the wazoo on my next bill?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI need some help with tethering. I downloaded PDANET and not really sure how to use it. What I really want to do is use it for my XBOX 360. Also if I use tethering on my phone I know verizon wants you to pay for it. If I use this 3rd party application will it do anything to my account.
View 1 Replies View RelatedBefore the update from 1.5, I had no issues tethering my MacBook through my Droid Eris with PDANet. The phone function of the handset was the only operation that would interrupt the signal.
Since the update, my Eris interrupts my internet frequently, without apparent reason. It begins the annoying cycle of kicking me off the web, alerting me that the phone was not ejected properly, mounting, launching iPhoto (which I cannot prevent from happening), and then I have to exit PDANet and relaunch so I can reconnect. It's a juggling act! Sometimes this cycle will repeat five or six times before the phone and computer settle down.

View 2 Replies View RelatedPdaNet has been one of the most popular software for Windows Mobile phones, Palm OS phones and the iPhone. It is now ported to the Android system! Unlike other tethering software that only supports Proxy connections, PdaNet provides you with FULL Internet access so all your email, instant message programs will work without any setting changes on the computer. Just like the old PdaNet, it is as simple as clicking on the PdaNet tray icon and your computer will go online instantly.

If I download the pdanet tethering app to my htc hero, will my ipod touch be able to work off my phone?
I know it's probably a stupid question but I am new to all of this.I know there is a free version and paid version of that app.....which should I get?
Does anyone know if PDAnet will work with the DROID?

View 1 Replies View RelatedIm gonna try and revive the issue of the MTU settings.i can connect and play alright, but maybe, the MTU settings are preventing xbox live from downloading updates for games and system?anyone have a fix? workaround?
I'm on vista, connecting my xbox to the comp, and using internet connection sharing as usual, tethered to my G1.ive already tried changing the MTU settings via CMD console but it does nothing
Having given it much thought I decided against rooting until the updates are out and XDA have sorted out a new 2.1 root for us which meant Barnacle was out for me at present so I have just installed PdaNet on my phone and netbook.
OMG I'm so over excited by it. I am typing this on my netbook using my phone. Yeah so I need to get a life, but I am in de-mob happy mode and the thought that I may be able to use my phone for wifi whilst away has really pleased me. It couldn't have been more simple. Download on my netbook, (had already downloaded it from market on my phone) and follow the on screen instructions.
Anyway it seems to be working pretty well, so just wondered if anyone had had any negative effect using it other than it maybe using up battery power and eating into my 3 gig of data for the month?
I had been using (pdanet) for tethering just fine until this morning. VZW sent me an upgrade which I was stupid and did, I didn't know... Now my pdanet doesn't work anymore.

View 4 Replies View RelatedBeen trying to get the bluetooth to work with my pda net. I am having the hardest time getting the phone to connect to my windows 7 laptop. It seems like sometimes it does, but mostly doesn't connect. It will show up in my list of devices but grayed out. it says something like paired, but not connected. Or maybe its the other way around. Then, when it does appear to be connected, I cant get pda net to work properly. Any advice? Been making me crazy for several days now.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having trouble tethering my phone to my computer via pdaNet and bluetooth (USB works fine). I've seen several threads and tried a lot of things, but nothing seems to solve my problem. I have tried under Mac OS X and Win XP...
Under Mac OS X, it detects my phone and pairs successfully. It gets to the point where it says "Select the services you want to use with your mobile phone" and I check "Access the Internet with your phone's data connection." When I hit continue, it say "Configuring services..." forever, and it never connects.
Under Win XP (same machine), in my Network Settings, I tried to search for my phone and it doesn't find my device. Alternatively, if I go to Control Panel -> Bluetooth, it will pair. However I then go to Properties, Services and check "Dial-Up Networking", hit OK, and it says "The parameter is incorrect"
So basically the problem is that although my phone and computer can see each other via bluetooth, the DUN service from my phone isn't recognized by my computer. I have tried this with another computer as well, with no luck. Is there a setting on my phone that I need to change in order to get this working?
I just got the HTC Magic and so far I'm getting more and more disappointed in it Does anyone know how to tether over Bluetooth? I'm using a Mac, so I can't use Windows software, and I don't want to connect cables when I'm using my laptop outside.
View 2 Replies View RelatedJust got my HTC Wildfire and found something annoying, please help and let me now if there is a fix for this or if i'm doing something wrong. I'm trying to connect to the internet using my phone as the modem. It is possible to do using the USB cable, but I'd like to do it using Bluetooth. When i search for Bluetooth services available, Dial-Up Networking is NOT in the list. Come on HTC, I was able to do this with every phone I owned up to now.

View 1 Replies View RelatedHow can I reverse tether my Android phones to my PC via Bluetooth? Is this even possible?
PC is running Windows 7 x64. Phone is an HTC HD2 running JellyBean AOSP from NAND. I know Wifi would be easiest, but this is a work PC and company policy is we are not allowed to run our own Wifi networks.
I managed to connect the HD2 to the PC via Bluetooth with a PAN network, it only worked when I turned on Internet Tethering on the phone. this makes the HD2 into the server and PC into the client so PC can use phone's internet connection. I need the reverse! I need HD2 to be the client, PC to be the server. I found a Bluetooth PAN client from the Play store, but it can't connect via PAN to the PC. I assume because the MS BT stack only has a PAN client and not server. Is there such a thing as a PAN server for PC? I've looked at Widcomm and Bluesoleil BT stacks, but neither specifically mentions having a PAN server.
I found this tutorial that sounds promising, using DUN instead of PAN: URL....It's for reverse tethering an Android device to another Android device. Looks like BlueVPN on the Android side will do what I want, be a DUN client. However, similar problem to PAN, I can't find a DUN server. It's apparently not built into the MS BT stack either.
Is it even possible to reverse tether an Android phone to PC over Bluetooth? Only other idea I can think of is to use an intermediate device as a bridge. USB reverse tether a phone to PC, and use phone's Bluetooth tethering abilities to tether my bluetooth phone to it.
