Has any one had any troubles with PdaNet this weekend ? I have been loosing connection like crazy today on my laptop . It seems to just drop like every other 1 hour or so .Been like this that last few days . Any ideas from any one ?

View 2 Replies View Relatedi've had my droidx since it came out. Its always worked great. but for the last two weeks or so it has been VERY annoying. App for chatting like AIN or trillian do not connect long enough or well enough to talk to people. My service is also lagging as well as wifi. And my market is very very bad with loading. Any suggestions? I do not have an automatic task killer. And i do use juicedefender, but on days i leave it off i have the same problem.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a rooted Evo 4G currently running the latest Fresh. Also running the current Wireless Tether App 2.0.5 pre 9. I am always having a problem of the client computer just dropping connection and no longer can find the broadcasting signal. Seems like the phone just stops broadcasting randomly. Only way to fix it is to disable and then enable the wireless tethering again. This happens about every 10-15 minutes, on any computer I try. Work, home, shop, everywhere. I also tried wiping the phone completely and re-installing the app. Is there a more reliable wireless tether app out there?

I tried restarting the phone and it still is doing it. I also looked on my brother's Evo and his has connection when mine does not so I know it is not a problem with our tower, any suggestions on what to do.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have program that runs a bluetooth connection. The socket connects fine. We then read/write from the related streams. This works fine for about a minute, then we start to get IOExceptions from the InputStream.available() and OutputStream.write() functions. The IOException indicates that the socket has been closed. Could anybody take a stab at what might be going on here?

My phone has recently started to randomly drop 3G so that I am unable to surf the web, receive emails etc. Does anyone know what might be causing this problem? I live in South Florida where 3G has always been fine. I would greatly appreciate anybody's input. Rebooting the phone helps for a while.

When it does work it works great but most of the time especially at night i get usb connection dropped. It will for for a few sec then disconnect then reconnect. Is there a fix for this? Think it disconnected about 16 times trying to type this message. I could really use a fix as this is the only internet I currently have.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am planning on getting the HTC Hero with Sprint when it is released on Sunday. 1. I was wondering if I will be able to use it to tether to my laptop and use sprint's 3G connection through my device to get online on my laptop when there are no wifi spots available. I may not use this feature since it seems the hero is a mini computer within itself and I can almost anything on it that I can on a computer. 2. Is it true the Hero supports flash video? Most devices allow youtube and I know Hero will, but will it also be able to play any other online video as well as youtube videos? 3. Will the Hero support video conferencing through a medium such as Skype? It is able to record moving video so I wasn't sure if the built in camera could be used like a web cam on skype to video conference, or with other video conferencing services available through the android market. 4. Is this the best android device being released at this time? It seems to be a lot better than the Mytouch 3G. It's also being compared next to the Palm Pre (not an android device) and most people say the Hero is much better because Pre doesn't have an OS that is very open source. The main reason I am getting this device is because it has the android OS which is known for being very open source and there are so many applications you can get and many more to come.
View 21 Replies View RelatedJust my experience noted here. Got the X last week. I had ongoing problems with 3G signal dropping to 1x regardless of how strong a signal area I was in. Phone also got VERY warm when accessing data. I'd classify it as hot.
I got a replacement today. Very impressed with the quick delivery. Unfortunately the 3G problem remains on this one (it's actually worse) and it gets just as hot. I think there's a real problem generally with the device. I really loved the solid build and phone design. Hopefully a SW fix can eventually solve this for you all.
I'm a reformed iPhone (3Gs then 4) user and have switched to the EVO and will hang out over on those forums. Good luck to you all here.

Over the weekend my usb connection to my laptop has stopped working.
it still charges but i don't get the notification that usb is connected or the option to mount the phone. meaning i can swap files with the laptop.
m using the usb cable that came with the phone.
is there a setting i may have altered by mistake that could cause this to happen?
I'm on my third 'X'.Both returns have been for the identical reason.3G drops seemingly at random and then hangs on 1x for 'x' amount of time before it reverts back.Yes I can manually kick start the thing by going into airplane mode but this is ridiculous.I've tried all the other band-aid approaches; hard reset, *228/1, *228/2, etc.Nothing fixes the problem.This happens way to often to be considered a fluke.I can not afford to have this happen while in navigation mode as it renders that function useless.I really need to know from someone this in fact is A) identified and B) being addressed by Moto and/or VZW. If I can't I'm afraid I will have to return this and leave VZW.It's too bad as the phone is perfect except for this very annoying bug. Does anyone have solid information on this?
View 40 Replies View RelatedI really enjoy this phone, but unfortunately I keep running into odd battery issues. I fully charged the phone while sleeping last night and now the phone is down to 40% with almost no usage (10 hours). I checked the battery manager and it said the display has used 94% of the battery which is extremely odd, seeing as how I haven't really used the phone at all today. The brightness is set at 40% and screen timeout to 30 seconds. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? I suspect it may be a rogue application, unfortunately the Droid X does not show what applications are eating the battery in the manager.

I'll be on the phone chatting away and it just becomes quiet and I'm not on the phone anymore with that phone. Or it will actually vibrate and I'll be kicked off the phone. I'm still running Cyanogen Rc3 if that matters.

I was navigating the other day, and a call came in and I answered with the handsfree system in the car. When directions came up, it cut in the call, and announced the directions over the speakers. Is there any way to directly do this for navigation only?
Another quick question. I have my phone set up with my Mac Book Pro. I can send files with bluetooth to the laptop, but when I go to browse the phone from the computer, it says connection failed. I do have ftp turned on on the phone.
