Got it to work over usb but can't seem to figure it out how to work over bluetooth. I can find my phone under devices but it has nothing listed under device function or bluetooth services. I was able to send my phone a file from my computer via bluetooth. My phone also says under bluetooth devices it's paired but not conectected to my computer. I'm running windows 7.

With much headache I've gotten PdaNet to work with DroidX via Bluetooth, despite some part of the Bluetooth driver not installing correctly/missing driver component.I've got the thing to what seemed to be the connected state on my dad's laptop, because he wants to browse at work, anyway.. I think the Bluetooth connection is working, but Verizon seems to be able to tell that its a tether because it pops up that Verizon page asking me to get a payed subscription for the tethering service (the site that shows the pretty chart where they say they want $30 more) no matter what site URL I type in.Any ideas why this happens? suggestions?Is there another solution that people have confirmed working for DroidX or am I doing something wrong? Also, I read that to use the USB connection to PdaNet I had to install the PdaNet Desktop app, which I tried to but kept failing install using the Motorola and Generic driver options, but I think despite this, PdaNet seems to not work right because of that page keeps popping up asking me to purchase the HotSpot plan addon. What do you all think? Thanks for help beforehand.

View 12 Replies View RelatedBeen trying to get the bluetooth to work with my pda net. I am having the hardest time getting the phone to connect to my windows 7 laptop. It seems like sometimes it does, but mostly doesn't connect. It will show up in my list of devices but grayed out. it says something like paired, but not connected. Or maybe its the other way around. Then, when it does appear to be connected, I cant get pda net to work properly. Any advice? Been making me crazy for several days now.

View 4 Replies View RelatedOk, first of all I am using one program right now called "easy tether" but i had pdanet and it worked fine on the trial part, that expired and I tired to connect to it and kept getting an error code "633" so I thought it was just because it was the trial program and not the real thing so I purchased the damn thing and I still can't get it up and running. I didn't mind paying for it as I said it ran pretty good before and just thought I would stick with it but I can't seem to get it up and running. I downloaded the easy tether and it runs good too but since I paid for pdanet I would like to at least try and see if I can get it up and running so can anyone tell me what I might be doing wrong by getting that code? If I can't get it going I need to request a refund and I am out of town right now and that is why I need it so I can access the internet while I am gone, I can't go a month without internet!!! So can someone try and explain if they can what might be going on for pdanet not to run. Like I said I am using the easy-tether right now as we speak but it is a trial version too so don't want to have to pay for another one to avoid not being able to access secure sites.

I'm running xtrROM right now and It works fine, but every time i flash KaosFroyo, I try to run Wired Tether, and no luck. Can someone walk me through how to run Wired Tether on a 2.2 ROM?

View 4 Replies View Relatedfor whatever reason today we lost our internet connection at work. Now I work for an airline doing charters and today we added a second flight to each shift. So I tethered my phone for the 3g and just plugged it in at the end of the day to charge it. Needless to say it handeled 300 passengers/customers easy. Changes, bag fees, checking in and selling for a solid 8hrs today! I don't think I'll ever get another cell phone ever. Maybe a bigger SD, but phone, probably not.

You cannot use voice dialing at all. Last call redial doesn't work. Nothing that we have come to take for granted on cell phones for years works. If a 3 year old Motorola flip can do it, it can't be that hard.
Anyone have any idea if this is going to get fixed in the next release? I didn't find it even described in the release for December 11th.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an evo4g and rooted it. I run 2.2 and a month old version of fresh or so.Anyway, just got a usb dongle at newegg for $7. I plugged it in and it connected my phone flawlessly for audio. Basically for audio all I do is toggle bluetooth on on the phone, then.. hit play and music is coming thru my computer speakers. That said - I can't seem to connect for bluetooth wifi. Is there a different driver for the phone that I need to d/l somewhere? Going to the windows 7 (I run win 7 ultimate) it says about my phone under the services tab:
BRCM Advanced Audio
Handsfree Telephony Gateway
Object Push (Obex)
This leads me to believe I need a different driver perhaps? When I go to "Join a Personal Area Network" there are no devices listed. I try to add device but it doesn't find my phone.I know this is kinda complicated so if you dont understand my problem please ask for a clarification.
Before the update from 1.5, I had no issues tethering my MacBook through my Droid Eris with PDANet. The phone function of the handset was the only operation that would interrupt the signal.
Since the update, my Eris interrupts my internet frequently, without apparent reason. It begins the annoying cycle of kicking me off the web, alerting me that the phone was not ejected properly, mounting, launching iPhoto (which I cannot prevent from happening), and then I have to exit PDANet and relaunch so I can reconnect. It's a juggling act! Sometimes this cycle will repeat five or six times before the phone and computer settle down.
Does anyone have the leaked 2.1 rom and the PAID version of PDAnet working. I know that the app store does not have the paid apps available in it for the leaked version yet. I use PDAnet for internet for my netbook all the time for my business and need to know if it is still available and working on the leaked rom. Also is bluetooth tethering working now that it is 2.1?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI keep getting errors on my pdanet it use to work fine..since upgrading it..i keep getting socket error and it disconnects and then have to reconnect..which is as often as every 2 minutes...then it gave me an htc sync error ...on the websites help it wants me to uninstall htc sync...uhh thats really the part of the phone..it is the phone..isnt it? and where the flip do i uninstall..and do i even want to uninstall that...i tried other programs..cannot get nothing to work..or they wanted me to transfer this program here...that doesnt work...or i dont know how..or where exactly...i really want to get rid of this stupid verizon wireless card..i pay far to much for limited usage and crappy service...but i cant do that until this tethering works..
View 7 Replies View RelatedWe've been trying to reverse tether (using a SmartQ V5, android version 2.1) to another device that has an Internet connection we want to share. That is to say, the Android device is the client and needs to get access to the Internet through connecting to a Bluetooth PAN network.
We have so far been able to get root access on android, but have had no luck with bluetooth PAN. We found that bluetooth PAN isn't compiled natively in android (at least not in 2.1 or before), and to enable it you'd need to turn them on and compile the OS image yourself. Does this concur with others' understanding?
Has anyone had any luck in compiling an android OS or setting up PAN to do reverse-tethering with another device (say PC)?
I'm able to get the computer to recognize the connection but I'm getting no interwebs connection?I think it may have something to do with the connection type thing.i.e. : Charge only, HTC Sync, Disk Drive.I've tried all of them with no success.Any thoughts?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI cannot seem to get my wireless tether to work. My phone is unrevoked 3, fresh 2.2, netarchy kernel, latest tether software that supposedly fixed it. It is set up identical to my wife's who is 2.1, unrevoked and hers works fine. Slow compared to my t=mobile HTC HD2 tether but it works. WHat could be wrong with mine. I tried using it through bluetooth and no dice.
