I'm able to get the computer to recognize the connection but I'm getting no interwebs connection?I think it may have something to do with the connection type thing.i.e. : Charge only, HTC Sync, Disk Drive.I've tried all of them with no success.Any thoughts?

Having problems following the update. No problems before the update. One for example, I now get an error message when trying to view notifications in the FB app. Anyone else have problems following the update?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI did the manual update to 2.1 yesterday and everything's great except for one issue.I have a ringtone set for my wife so that I know when she's calling but for some reason since the update it plays the default ringtone for her.I've tried deleting her contact and then manually adding the contact back, I've tried changing the ringtone to something else and then back to what I want but the problem persists. Please help, this is really frustrating.
View 8 Replies View RelatedBefore the update from 1.5, I had no issues tethering my MacBook through my Droid Eris with PDANet. The phone function of the handset was the only operation that would interrupt the signal.
Since the update, my Eris interrupts my internet frequently, without apparent reason. It begins the annoying cycle of kicking me off the web, alerting me that the phone was not ejected properly, mounting, launching iPhoto (which I cannot prevent from happening), and then I have to exit PDANet and relaunch so I can reconnect. It's a juggling act! Sometimes this cycle will repeat five or six times before the phone and computer settle down.
Does anyone have the leaked 2.1 rom and the PAID version of PDAnet working. I know that the app store does not have the paid apps available in it for the leaked version yet. I use PDAnet for internet for my netbook all the time for my business and need to know if it is still available and working on the leaked rom. Also is bluetooth tethering working now that it is 2.1?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI keep getting errors on my pdanet it use to work fine..since upgrading it..i keep getting socket error and it disconnects and then have to reconnect..which is as often as every 2 minutes...then it gave me an htc sync error ...on the websites help it wants me to uninstall htc sync...uhh thats really the part of the phone..it is the phone..isnt it? and where the flip do i uninstall..and do i even want to uninstall that...i tried other programs..cannot get nothing to work..or they wanted me to transfer this program here...that doesnt work...or i dont know how..or where exactly...i really want to get rid of this stupid verizon wireless card..i pay far to much for limited usage and crappy service...but i cant do that until this tethering works..

I can find my phone under devices but it has nothing listed under device function or bluetooth services. I was able to send my phone a file from my computer via bluetooth. My phone also says under bluetooth devices it's paired but not conectected to my computer. I'm running windows 7.

View 46 Replies View RelatedI guess I'm one of the few that had glitches w/ the update. First the galery link on the front page didn't update and I kept getting "this application is not installed" error. I couldn't drag it over to the red waste basket...it kept changing back to gray and the faulty icon stayed on the main desktop. That evening while on hold to Verizon I "force fed" it by holding it over the waste basket longer, then added the new gallery app from the slider screen.
Also noted that the gold button on the r side no longer worked for the camera, it brings up a quick messaging screen instead. They determined the ONLY way to fix this is to reset the phone back to factory issue. Is there another way around this? Or if I have to, what's the best way to back up everything and keep track of the installed apps? I really don't want to reset the phone.
Fortunately, my phone is not bricked. I unrooted it by using the one-click app, downloaded and tried to install froyo but received an unkind error message. The Update failed to Install. I'm assuming I need to flash the phone back to factory? How do I go about doing this?

View 7 Replies View RelatedMy girlfriend just received her Droid 2 the other day and I have been helping her set it up. There was an available update so I had it installed. Now every time we try to use a browser, any browser, it opens for a second and then it closes to the Home screen right away. No force close, no error message, just poof and it's gone. I didn't install many apps to it like my Captivate because I figured less is more for her. She added her facebook and MySpace accounts but that's about it really.
I looked all over the past few hours and found similar issues but none quite the same. I cleared the cache, cleared the data, nothing. 3G or WiFi made no difference. I tried with the stock browser, Skyfire, Dolphin, and xScope and same results across the board. I turned all location settings off and back on and back off again to no avail. I just did a factory reset 15 minutes ago and nothing has changed. I am going to do it again without allowing the Backup Assistant to do anything. I'll make a fresh google account to see if there's a difference there but I don't think it will work. It's not rooted or anything, it's pretty much fresh out of the box from only 3 days ago.
I've been getting an error message all day. everytime I try to go into the market to update apps I get the message "A server error has occurred. Retry, or cancel and return to the previous screen." I can hit retry 42 million times and it will not connect.
I've rebooted, pulled the battery, cleared the cache, I even tried uninstalling the market updates; figuring that it would connect and I could re-update, but nothing has worked.
I've had my ERIS for less than a week and can't get text messages in or out. I receive SMS Error Cause Code 97, Error Class 2 message each time.

View 2 Replies View RelatedLooking for a little help with email.I have a feeling I'm doing something wrong and need a little guidance. I currently have Gmail and Yahoo! accounts (more concerned about my Gmail). On my iPod Touch, I easily got them both into the iMail program, very quick and easy to do, seamless usage, etc.On the Eris, this is much more challenging for some reason. I figured the HTC mail would be about the same, but doesn't seem to be the case. I'm currently using the Gmail app for Gmail, which works, sort of. Not the most user friendly app. I can't seem to find a setting to check the email at intervals, have to hit 'menu' and refresh to bring in new mails. As it turns out, I have to do the same to get the app to connect and send mail as well. Seems like a lot of unnecessary steps.In addition, I can't seem to view my 'tasks.' However, I can do this through the mobile Gmail website, which almost seems more user friendly and easier to navigate.The other deal is the contacts, but I think I have to jump through a bunch of hoops to get this to work as well. My Gmail contacts won't sync as I have too many phone contacts. At least this is what I am able to assess from reading through the web. If anyone has any thoughts on this.Then there's the whole Yahoo! email thing. I have seen a couple posts I may try once I get the Gmail working correctly. Seems the Gmail should be seamless, must be missing something here.Email has been around for some time, hard to believe this takes any effort.

1. The application Flexilis Mobile Security (process com.lookout) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
2.The application Google Maps (process com.google.android.apps.maps) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
3. The process com.google.process.gapps has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.Also when I try to open "settings" I get an error message for that as well as "phone".also do not have service! I think I killed my android!
I just did the factory reset and now cannot send, and probably receive, sms messages. I get a SMS Error: General Problems. Cause Code 34 Error Class 2. I did a second factory reset in hopes that the error would go away but it's still happening. Does anyone know what I should do?

Since being upgraded I have noted that both my gmail and yahoo mail is not syncing on any regular schedule. If I wake phone it seems to sync but won't really check mail based on sync schedule I have set. Sometimes 2 or mores past 1 hour schedule I have set. Any others out there.

I was in the habit of installing multiple applications from the market before rebooting, but started having problems with the phone not working and getting other error messages so I now try to reboot after each install. I just tired to install and run advance task killer (ATK) twice and after each reboot I'd get at least 2-3 errors. If I uninstall it and reboot all seems to be ok. Same happened with Bloo and an AK-47 app (game).

Nothing loads and I get a popup that says: "Attention, A server error has occured. Retry, or cancel and return to the previous screen." It's also fairly intermittent, sometimes I get this error, sometimes not. I've not seen this before yesterday.
