I wanted to buy a extra micro usb cable for light charging at school and work and was wondering if there are any specifications for the kind I need. I've seen 4 pin and 5 pin versions and didn't want to get the wrong one.

View 6 Replies View RelatedIsn't there supposed to be one? it charges without any LED on. Another odd thing is when I'm in meebo I get a purple LED when I get a message.
I charged it from 60% to full and there was no LED on at all. Is there something in the settings that's causing this? I have silent mode on (but it surely can't be that right?) this is kind of weird.

I've had it on for the last 16 hours and although the light goes orange and the little battery animates as though it's charging it hasn't budged since I put it on... I haven't tried it with the official cable yet but does anyone know of any reason why a non-HTC USB cable wouldn't do the same as a HTC branded one?

So it's been a few days and I know it's completely dry, but I was wondering or not if it would be okay to still use it? I didn't know if that somehow messed the cable connector up. View 2 Replies View RelatedI just picked up an Eris after having the nearly identical Hero for about 3 weeks. On the Hero, there was a notification LED on the top of the phone. It blinked when I had new e-mail, texts, or voicemails. I see the Eris has a small LED light in the top right corner, but that seems to only light up when charging? Is that all that light does? Indicate when the phone is charging? I would think that would blink when notifications from SMS, calls or e-mail come in? Is it supposed to?

But all I get is an option to mount the SD card as a drive to copy files. It doesn't seem to be able to charge the phone. Do I need a special cable, or maybe a second charger from T-Mobile? At work today when I took my phone out of a pocket I noticed that red light is flashing. I've connected it to my Mac at work and it doesn't seem to charge it what so ever. It has been connected to Mac's USB for about 30 minutes and red light is still flashing. Tried to turn it on but ON/OFF button doesn't work. How long it needs to be plugged in to start again? Is it a Mac issue?

I've got a Razr Maxx that I'm looking at replacing and was looking at the new Droid Maxx but I'm concerned about the lack of HDMI out. I'm a boater and have a TV on my boat. I connect my Razr Maxx to my TV with a Micro HDMI to HDMI cable and watch Netflix when I'm on the. I'd hate to give that up but also realize that my Maxx won't last forever.
Any new phones that do have HDMI out?
I am a Droid user at the moment, but am considering moving to the EVO next month, and I have a question regarding the LED's on the phone. My wife has to have complete darkness in the room at night and even a charging light bothers her she says (wtf, I just close my eyes and I cant see it, but whatever).
Anyway, on the Droid there is a program called LEDs hack that allows us to turn off all the notification and soft-button LED's when charging, so I am wondering if anything similar is available for the EVO yet. Also, can the charging light itself be disabled? It could not on the droid, but the home dock covered that one completely, so no big deal.
Only way to get rid of it is to re-boot. I guess this probably something wrong with my USB port?

I have the charger which plugs into the wall but has a USB port in the back so you can pull it out and easily connect to a PC. Have I screwed up something by constantly swapping it from a PC and plugging it into the wall?
I'm paranoid because I've got the bottom end of the charger stuck into my phone, I then stick it into my USB port - Should I be disconnecting it from my phone before connecting it to power so the phone doesn't screw up somehow?
I have some light leakage from the ports on the bottom of the phone. It only happens when the capacitive buttons are lit. The screen seems solid, not separating from case. Will this eventually lead to dust under the screen or not an issue to worry about?

I hadn't been able to charge my EVO for a little while, and just a little while ago it finally gave up the ghost. I booted back up to recovery after it shut down, where it told me I needed to change the battery.
Well, that's great! Except, it wouldn't let me shut the phone off! It sat there for a few minutes, not responding to my trying to turn the phone off, until, it seems, it completely ran out of power. I have the seidio 3500mah battery, and the cover is a royal pain to remove (usually requiring a butter knife to pry the sucker out of it's death grip!).
Now when I got back to my desk at work, I plugged it in to USB, and the charging light is just blinking amber at me, and it won't turn on yet. Does this sound like it's not charging, or just needs to charge itself up a bit before it will let me turn it back on?
