View 18 RepliesI wanted to buy a extra micro usb cable for light charging at school and work and was wondering if there are any specifications for the kind I need. I've seen 4 pin and 5 pin versions and didn't want to get the wrong one.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI bought this from Monoprice: "USB 2.0 A Male to Micro 5pin Male 28/28AWG Cable - 3ft" hoping to charge the phone away from home by plugging it into a computer. But all I get is an option to mount the SD card as a drive to copy files. It doesn't seem to be able to charge the phone. Do I need a special cable, or maybe a second charger from T-Mobile? I had always charged my old MP3 player with USB, so I figured the phone could do the same thing.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWith the Samsung Vibrant there is the USB cable and the charger that you plug the USB cable into (to charge it from the wall). I was wondering if charging the battery from a PC was any different the plugging the USB cable into the wall charger? I would like to just keep the USB cable plugged into my PC and charge it that way but I want to know if it will get the same charge as it would with the wall outlet.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I charge with a non HTC USB cable the phone wont charge. I've had it on for the last 16 hours and although the light goes orange and the little battery animates as though it's charging it hasn't budged since I put it on... I haven't tried it with the official cable yet but does anyone know of any reason why a non-HTC USB cable wouldn't do the same as a HTC branded one?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI knocked a cup of Sprite onto the floor and it dumped out right over the micro-USB end of my charger (as in all of it was emerged in Sprite). So it's been a few days and I know it's completely dry, but I was wondering or not if it would be okay to still use it? I didn't know if that somehow messed the cable connector up. Luckily I still have the charger for my old BlackBerry Storm.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I boot up my phone, I'm getting this message: "Damaged Internal SD Card." Not a micro SD card. It's saying my internal SD card is damaged. Am I screwed? Do I need to return this thing? Is there a way to format the internal SD card on this thing? I found the "Format Card" option in settings. It's working fine, although the fact that this came up in the first place is very troublesome. Some further information: I did the GPS thing where you dial *#*# and some number, then rebooted my phone. My internal card was fine until I rebooted. That was the first time I got that message of a damaged internal sd card.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got a little problem with my HTC Hero. I got it yesterday and plugged it in to PC at home and charging was fine. At work today when I took my phone out of a pocket I noticed that red light is flashing. I've connected it to my Mac at work and it doesn't seem to charge it what so ever. It has been connected to Mac's USB for about 30 minutes and red light is still flashing. Tried to turn it on but ON/OFF button doesn't work. How long it needs to be plugged in to start again? Is it a Mac issue?

I got my Captivate a couple days ago, and I've been trying to research as much as I can about it, but I can't find this info. I know I can do it with a computer, but I don't have one. I want to put music and apps I download on the micro SD if possible.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo, got my Captivate yesterday.. first Android device (and loving it). Noticed something weird, when i went to bed last night it was at 50% battery, turned the phone off and plugged it in figuring it would charge overnight. however when I turned it on this morning the battery was at 10%. Not sure if this was just a fluke or not (i'm assuming fluke since I don't see any other posts on it). Can't see why it wouldn't of charged, let alone drain the battery.. any ideas? I can assure you it was off all night. So does this phone only charge when on? Something specific to Android or just a fluke maybe something i should think about a return trip to at&t for? Gona see what happens tonight when I do the same thing.

View 16 Replies View RelatedThis has happened to me on three occasions so far. I'm using the charger and cable it came with. This morning I woke up to grab my captivate and it was really hot! The first few times it happened was concerning and maybe I thought the screen didn't timeout, but this time when I picked it up I noticed the screen wasn't on and the phone was blazing hot and it wasn't even at 100%. The other times I would turn it off and let it cool down and by the end of the day would put it back on the charger and it would be fine till another couple of days then it would do it again. It just started two weeks ago and now in thinking of exchanging it for another. Has Anyone else had this problem? Should I return it? I don't think a phone should be this hot while charging. I can understand a little warm but not HOT.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have had the phone since yesterday and notice that when the phone is charging (USB or wall) and I'm trying to do stuff(surf the internet or play with any of my programs), the phone does crazy stuff. It will just start executing the search and other buttons on my phone without me even touching them. The phone doesn't appear to do this when it's not charging. Another problem I've noticed is that the capacitive buttons on the bottom are unresponsive in general. I'll sometimes have to hit the back button a couple times for it to recognize that I hit it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIs it just me, or has anyone noticed that if you use any other USB cable aside from the one provided, that your Captivate only charges up to 50%? I tried using the sync cable from my old Nokia (which is that same USB A type to mini B like the Captivate), plugged into the Samsung wall charger, and even after a full night of being on the charger, the battery indicator was only at 50%! What's the deal with that!? The other thing to note is that, when I use the Samsung cable and the Samsung charger, it just charges, like what you'd expect. But if I say, use my Samsung charger, and the USB cable instead, it prompts me with the same question you get as if plugging into a PC (Mass Storage, Kies, Media player, etc.)What's going on re?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've had the captivate for about a week now and I haven't noticed much improvement on the battery life. I have discharged/recharged the battery a few times and nothing much has changed. The main issue is that overnight, the phone will go from 100% charge to 75/80% charge. I only have wifi on; bluetooth, gps, sync are all off. I also kill all applications except for a battery status notifier and the sms application.I have noticed, though, that when I sometimes open the task manager I find applications that are open, which I have never touched (ex. music player, video player). Could this be the problem and how would I fix this.Any help is appreciated cause at this point I have trouble making it through one whole day with the phone.
View 1 Replies View RelatedTo all those who have battery issues.... How long do you charge your battery for? Check this out:
Saturday night -> Sunday - charged phone for 7 hours
Sunday - about 18-19 hrs of battery life - moderate usage
Charged from 6pm sunday night to 4am monday - (10 hours on charger)
Monday -> Tuesday - 38 hours of battery life - moderate usage
Charged tuesday from 1030pm to 4am wednesday (6 hours on charger
Tuesday - 16 hours of battery life - moderate usage.
BOTTOM LINE: I think the phone says it is charged way before it actually is full. Let me know if anyone else is having the same issues....
