I just got an AppRadio2 and would like to install it this weekend. I don't have an MHL cable right now, and don't want to wait for Amazon shipping. Is it possible to cut up an HDMI cable (I've got a dead one lying around) and a micro-b cable and solder them together?

I've noticed that none of the new phones coming out have HDMI out on them anymore. I've got a Razr Maxx that I'm looking at replacing and was looking at the new Droid Maxx but I'm concerned about the lack of HDMI out. I'm a boater and have a TV on my boat. I connect my Razr Maxx to my TV with a Micro HDMI to HDMI cable and watch Netflix when I'm on the. I'd hate to give that up but also realize that my Maxx won't last forever.
Any new phones that do have HDMI out?
I am using my old phone (an Xperia Arc S) as a multimedia player since it has a HDMI port. I would like to use my headphones while watching a movie. The problem is when I connect the headphones they don't seem to be recognized at all when the HDMI cable is plugged in too. All the sounds go through the HDMI cable.

Is there a cable that is micro HDMI on one end and the three on the other end? I realize it won't be HDMI quality, but i could at least put movies up on the TV from my phone.

Tried to hook it up to my 37" 08' Samsung LCD HDTV, but was only getting AUDIO through to the TV, no VIDEO? I tried all three HDMI outlets on my LCD HDTV but got the same result on each one? I've had it on for the last 16 hours and although the light goes orange and the little battery animates as though it's charging it hasn't budged since I put it on... Do I skip the converting process altogether an just make sure that the video that I burned from a dvd can be played with the Droid X media gallery while connected to hdmi? I'm generally wondering if a slot labelled "microSD" will accept a micro SDHC card (as opposed to a micro SD card). I know, for example, that some older memory card readers won't read the SDHC cards, even if they have an SD slot. I'm not sure about the tablets however.
