View 5 RepliesI just picked up an Eris after having the nearly identical Hero for about 3 weeks. On the Hero, there was a notification LED on the top of the phone. It blinked when I had new e-mail, texts, or voicemails. I see the Eris has a small LED light in the top right corner, but that seems to only light up when charging? Is that all that light does? Indicate when the phone is charging? I would think that would blink when notifications from SMS, calls or e-mail come in? Is it supposed to?

View 9 Replies View Relatedyesterday on the way home from a road trip I had my phone playing pandora while plugged into a car charger when the notification light started blinking back and fourth from green to orange, anyone have any idea what this is about?
Also I've got the low storage space notification, has the answer to that been decided as do a factory reset?
I was having issues with my Inc. after the 2.2 OTA so I did a factory reset which seems to have resolved a lot of the glitchyness, BUT, now when I charge the phone after a while the notification LED starts to flash and as it does this it alternates between amber and green and doesn't stop until I unplug the charger...

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am a Droid user at the moment, but am considering moving to the EVO next month, and I have a question regarding the LED's on the phone. My wife has to have complete darkness in the room at night and even a charging light bothers her she says (wtf, I just close my eyes and I cant see it, but whatever).
Anyway, on the Droid there is a program called LEDs hack that allows us to turn off all the notification and soft-button LED's when charging, so I am wondering if anything similar is available for the EVO yet. Also, can the charging light itself be disabled? It could not on the droid, but the home dock covered that one completely, so no big deal.
Only way to get rid of it is to re-boot. I guess this probably something wrong with my USB port?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI plugged my HTC Hero in, and noticed the little red LED at the top wasn't coming on, the phone is charging as i can tell by the notification bar on the screen, but no light?? is this a fault or a setting or something?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to have the phone still display notifications using the LED when he phone is charging? As it stands, charging the phone keeps the light solid.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy phone doesn't charge. When I plug it in, the charging light doesn't come on, the phone turns on but turns off due to not enough battery.
I have the charger which plugs into the wall but has a USB port in the back so you can pull it out and easily connect to a PC. Have I screwed up something by constantly swapping it from a PC and plugging it into the wall?
I'm paranoid because I've got the bottom end of the charger stuck into my phone, I then stick it into my USB port - Should I be disconnecting it from my phone before connecting it to power so the phone doesn't screw up somehow?
I have some light leakage from the ports on the bottom of the phone. It only happens when the capacitive buttons are lit. The screen seems solid, not separating from case. Will this eventually lead to dust under the screen or not an issue to worry about?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI was just about to try taking the battery out, when it changed from a blinking amber to a solid amber. I hope it's charging now!
I hadn't been able to charge my EVO for a little while, and just a little while ago it finally gave up the ghost. I booted back up to recovery after it shut down, where it told me I needed to change the battery.
Well, that's great! Except, it wouldn't let me shut the phone off! It sat there for a few minutes, not responding to my trying to turn the phone off, until, it seems, it completely ran out of power. I have the seidio 3500mah battery, and the cover is a royal pain to remove (usually requiring a butter knife to pry the sucker out of it's death grip!).
Now when I got back to my desk at work, I plugged it in to USB, and the charging light is just blinking amber at me, and it won't turn on yet. Does this sound like it's not charging, or just needs to charge itself up a bit before it will let me turn it back on?
Isn't there supposed to be one? it charges without any LED on. Another odd thing is when I'm in meebo I get a purple LED when I get a message.
I charged it from 60% to full and there was no LED on at all. Is there something in the settings that's causing this? I have silent mode on (but it surely can't be that right?) this is kind of weird.
I've been trying to get the flashing LED light to change colors when I receive a message, but it has yet to work. Any suggestions?

View 3 Replies View RelatedOne of the nice things I had with my BB was an app that allowed you to modify the length, frequency, and color of your LED light notifications for when you had missed calls, emails, etc. That way you didn't have to bring the screen alive to know if you didn't hear the audible notification. The LED on the EVO seems to be pretty short and sometimes infrequent. I seem to keep bringing the screen alive to find I have missed emails etc. but the LED wasn't flashing at all. Has anyone found a good App that does this?

View 3 Replies View RelatedFor those (very very few of us) who have played with the Evo, can you tell me if there is an LED notification light on front?I am referring to when you get a new text message, or a missed call, so you dont have to turn on the screen.
View 43 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know how long your led light notification blinks for missed calls and text messages etc.I thought is was to blink until you checked the missed call or message.Mine is going off after 5 to 8 minutes without going into the phone and checking the missed call or text.Is this normal?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there a notification light on the Droid X? If so, does anyone know how to get it to work? I have looked in all of the settings and I can not find where to turn the notification lights on and yes, it does appear to have a notification light, I just can't get it to work.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have the android phone and have tried LED tester, blink, missed call and I think spare parts but nothing will change the LED color. Please help this is getting frustrating.
View 21 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to modify how long the LED light will flash when you have an unread message or email? I found several programs in the market but they only seemed concerned with "changing" the color of the light (which does not work) and how fast the light will flash. But none of them had a setting to make the LED flash for say 4 hours after I receive a message unless I check it.
View 13 Replies View RelatedWhen I was using android api 5 (sdk 2.0) I was able to show light notification in the trackball of my nexus one: mNotificationManager.notify("my tag",0, notif); Now, I'm developping on android api 3 (sdk1.5) and this method is no more available so I use: mNotificationManager.notify(0, notif); But the light notification is not shown...........

View 12 Replies View RelatedI am looking for an app that uses the Button lights for notification purposes. (Stock 2.3.6 fw)I now there is one that uses the LED flash light, lcd backlight and Amoled but I only want .When looking with logcat I saw these lines:
PowerManagerService( 166): setLightBrightness : mButtonLight : 102
PowerManagerService( 166): setLightBrightness : mButtonLight : 0
Is it possible to use them for notification purposes? Is it already done? But I cannot get them off again. Can the PowerMangerService be used to do that in 2.3.6?
